I had to do a school project on a band for music class, so I covered Iron Maiden, after it my music teacher and I talked more in depth afterwards and it was the coolest thing that has happened to me so far in highschool
That's nearly impossible, everyone heard at least one song of them: Nothing Else Matters... okay, that's not a good excuse to wear a t-shirt of them, but still, it's too mainstream to be bothered.
I'm so glad my parents are chill. Took my septum out for a few days and wore a white shirt and my mum suddenly worried and said "please dont become a boring normal kid" love u mum
I’ll share a recent story of my own. So recently I was at my local grocery store. Getting food for my house. I had on my Embryocide shirt on. No brutal art work on it besides the logo and on the back says “all is hell”. Now I wasn’t being reckless or making a scene or anything. I was just getting food and trying to avoid people as much as possible. But this soccer mom was always in line of sight of somewhere. At first I didn’t think much of it. Just people getting their groceries like me. But this person pretended lie the didn’t notice me. I went around the store a few weird ways and turns. And as suspected this lady follows. So I go to check out. At this point I’m not sure who this lady is. But I just wanted to go home, and put my stuff away and maybe go kick it with friends after. As I leave the store she’s also leaving. It gets stranger. I put my groceries in my car and picked a song to listen to and left. I shit you not, I see shortly this minivan is tailgating me. And what do you know, it’s the same lady following me in the store. At this point something really bizarre is going on. Why is this lady following me? I don’t know. Was it due to my Embryocide shirt? Who knows. In my town, a certain church which is most of the population, is in cahoots with many city officials and the police department. I thought it was something like that. I tried taking weird turns to lose this crazy lady. But she followed and was on the phone with someone that I could see. Finally this lady leaves me alone. After following me for 20 minutes in town in daylight. I’m not sure if this was a scare tactic. Because in my town heavy metal is almost outlawed. I still continue to make black metal today and have big plans for it. If you read all of this, thank you for reading how some crazy church lady stalked me.
I got a slayer tattoo on my chest not massive across my chest just like on one side and i wore a tank top to school once now in Australia we have uniforms but we have a free dress or casual clothes day every so often and i wore a tank top it was a sex pistols tank top bad decision not only did i get suspended for my shirt but some one reported my tattoo and it was made to look like a carving and i got put in 8 weeks of counselling which i had to do with the school based counsellor in addition to being suspended for 3 week for my shirt so i had to come to school in uniform and talk to the counsellor for 45 minutes everyday then go home. i think the funniest part was how the principal tried to get me in trouble with my parents although still being fully aware that i was 18 and no longer lived with my parents. this was in 2015 the year i graduated
Once my friend wore a slipknot shirt at school and his math teacher told him "ohhh is that metallica you shouldn't listen to stuff like that because they are satanists"
Imagine being a black guy like myself and the looks you'll get for wearing any metal T-shirt! Or hell, imagine being the only black guy at any metal show lol. I got uncomfortable stares at a Ghost concert, but felt more comfortable in a Slayer pit.
I'm in the south so it's older, southern, religious people who give me nervous looks. I feel that they should take time to educate themselves. I'm in my mid thirties so I usually don't care. 🤘
Hey, may I ask you what's up with black folks wearing metal shirts now? Not like you, but people who wear them as fashion, I think they must sell them at Jimmy Jamz now. Alot is Iron Maiden. I ask, and no, they don't listen to them.
I saw this girl in my English class wearing a Slayer shirt. Keep in mind this girl had blonde hair, wore big hoop earrings, long lashes, tight skinny jeans, and white Nike Air Force 1 shoes. My teacher said to her, “Slayer. What do you know about them?” She replied with “oh nothing really, I just like the other bands like Nirvana and Deftones, stuff like that”
Not racist, just a pov...buuut... I've noticed white people wear black or dark clothes, then all these dark skinned wear all white or the whitest of shoes in the world. No offense but white shoes get fucked up easier than black ones.
I was super happy when my grandma wore a slayer shirt she bought at the concert my mom took her too as a mothers day present. My mom said she said she wished she could have taken me but 3 tickets was to expensive.
There's this girl on my campus that is always wearing the exact same Amon Amarth shirt whenever I see her, this tells me two things: - She either doesn't shower or she washes the same damn shirt every day. - I don't know if she actually likes Amon Amarth or she just likes the design. Anyways, I'd love to ask and see the response.
@café Neudstadt that's sth that pisses me off in metal community "oh this band is shitty, bla bla this is not metal mimimi they aren't hard enough" what the fuck? you don't have to like them but why do you need to write that they're shit?
I had a friend in high school that heard me talking about black sabbath and he interjected and said: "oh that death metal stuff is crazy I don't know how u listen to that." I've never been so disappointed in society.
I also wanna mention the reactions you get when people find out you’re a metalhead and look opposite to the stereotype. I wear lots of cutesy pastels and I’m even getting into lolita clothing. It’s so funny seeing the looks I get while I’m listening to metal with headphones and some of it seeps out. I get lots of stunned looks, kinda like I’ve “misled” them or something
Yeah, that happenes to me as well. :D For most of the year I do look the part, but usually during the summer I completely ditch the metalhead look and just wear dresses and skirts in bright colours. Like that one time I saw this guy in an Obituary shirt so I came to him and said how much I love them and he was completely mesmerized by this brunette in bright red dresses and high heels talking to him about a death metal band. :D
My principal is hardcore Christian, I “accidentally” only brought my symphony of destruction, slayer, and anthrax shirts on our school trip. Oh man she was livid!
My dad looked straight at my Napalm Death shirt, STRAIGHT AT IT, and said, "Oh, I haven't heard of Nuclear Banana." I guess their logo is a little hard to read, but it's NOTHING compared to some band logos. My friends laughed about that for years.
Eh, he was probably just being a dad bro. If he’s okay with you listening to Napalm Death, he’s probably cool enough to make a joke about the band. Either way, if he meant it or not, your dad is cool.
i remember having a basketball jersey that said slayer on the front and had ‘666’ on the back and i was at the mall and this guy handed me a business card to attend a local church, ill never forget that day
Surprisingly when I wore my Butchered At Birth and Tomb Of The Mutilated shirts to school, every teacher (and principal) complimented me (they just said it looked like a cool band or something I think) lmao. But 2 kids behind me in my physics class said "oh your trying to be edgy" and ""why do you wear dead people on your shirts" and "oh is that a death metal band? That sucks" (they said that when I wire my Butchered At Birth shirt). So that Friday of that week I went with my Tomb Of The Mutilated shirt and they were like "watch out dude, he's gonna Cannibal Corpse you and then shoot up the school". So I just looked at them and said "you know what, I hope you end up like the girl on my shirt". The looked at it and then at me with a disturbed and scared look. They never talked to me after that 😂😂
LMFAO! That is the perfect response! I hope they avoided you like the plague after that. Those kinds of jokes associated with metal are just self righteous and pitifully lame attempts at being "edgy" themselves. Your burn was perfect! Probably the same shits who wore Metallica shirts from Forever 21 back when band shirts were being worn by self-absorbed celebrities and douche hipsters! Rock on!
My Tool shirt got banned in school because of the priest from Opiate was on the back. I still wear it, infact I bring that shirt and a more offensive shirts like my Cannibal Corpse shirt just to piss off the school. They tell me to take off the tool shirt so I replace it with a Cannibal Corpse shirt. It's kinda funny
I was wearing a Dissection ”Storm of the Light’s Bane” shirt in school, and my history teacher (who also listens to metal) asked what band it was. I told who they were, and he said that he maybe should listen some songs from them. Later during the day, I gave him a little list, with six songs from them. He listened only three of them, because it was little bit too dark for his taste in metal, but atleast he listened them. He is a really badass teacher, he once blasted the entire Ride the Lightning album in his classroom, on the stereos
Me and this girl were wearing the same band shirt in the street and as we walked past each other we pointed at the others shirt and high fived, I later found out that she studied in the same place as me and we are now friends and we owe it all to band shirts 😆😂
That’s how I make friends at my school. “Hey I love your shirt, man!” “Oh thanks!” And then we just talk about metal for hours on end, and one I’m even starting an Irish/Celtic power metal band with!
Yeah, I get quite a few strange looks for metal shirts too. I noticed that the lighter the metal, the fewer looks I get. I attract a lot less attention wearing aluminium shirts than I do wearing cast iron ones, and the one time I put on a lithium shirt, people actually had trouble noticing me.
Shit, I need to go to sleep. I'm so tired I thought that all those metals were just names of bands and I didn't get why people thought it was so funny.
I remember seeing Butchered at Birth in my local music store back in the mid-90s when I was about 14. The artwork really struck me and to this day I believe it is still the most brutal.
I see all these comments like "i wore a Black Sabbath shirt and got suspended from school and shot in the street" while im here wearing mayhem and slayer shirts with a dead upside down jesus hanging out of the mouth of a corpse, hardly even getting a weird look. Damn some americans can be judgemental. Im swedish
Im American, and the area I live in (and a couple other cities ive been in), I've never had someone come up to me and say that my shirt had so-so on it or say something bad about metal/the band. They would either be silent or compliment me on the shirt, so I can't really relate very much to some people here. Ill probably get more reactions/compliments once I get my (first) metal vest finished & ready. Or maybe it's just that I need to get a more "brutal" shirt, lol. But yea, some people out just go over-the-top over lots of things such as a graphic on a shirt.
Bruh i wear my lamb of god winged death shirt all the time... That thing has literally an angel that's slowly rotting and a is surrounded by a bunch of skulls and no one even gives a shit...
As a Christian i love metal, i do draw the line when it comes to me listing to satanic stuff, but its your style whether its deicide or behemoth, or mayhem or any of those bands. If i see anybody wearing a metal shirt no matter whats on it im giving then the horns to signify a brotherhood
I was wearing my infant annihilator "child snatcher" hoodie and a whole family walked past and i could hear them muttering about me worshipping satan or something? Lmao i love it
I'm 48 super successful property owner and realastate owner. Happily married , with great kids. I've been metal since the 80's. From Maiden, Sabbath, Celtic Frost. And I keep up to date. People don't know shit judging you by appearance. My personal favorite was the mother taking her children by the hands and crossing the street because you showed up. LoL. Keep the faith brother.
i was out in town with some of my friends and i was wearing the most basic nirvana tee (the black one with the yellow logo) and this guy screamed from the other side of the street “i love your shirt” so i looked at my shirt and realised the guy was wearing the same shirt so i walked up to him and we had a 15 minute long conversation about nirvana and some other bands.
Did it say "kitty petting flower sniffing corporate whore" on the back like they did back in the day? A friend of mine had to cover "whore" with duct tape in school. Honestly a pretty fair way to deal with it.
that's because your teacher comes from my generation our teachers listened to elvis and the Beatles so.. when we wore a metallica shirt it was different for 2 main reasons 1. Heavy metal was new to them 2. Your shirt probably has GARAGE INC on it our Metallica shirt had METAL UP YOUR ASS.... big difference LOL
I'm so lucky that my family likes metal, my uncle was the one who bought me my butchered at birth shirt at a cannibal corpse concert but we definitely get some looks when we're at a store blasting dying fetus. Like one time my mom and I were listening to infant annihilator and we got some dirty looks from some old ladies 😂
I'm 49 years old in December this year...and *I WOULD WEAR THEM ALL! Ya' know?...to a wedding *MY OWN!...to a interview, to a school meeting... TO THEIR F*CKING CONCERTS thank you very much. Bang on dude!
A few months ago, I was wearing my Ramones shirt (in school) and the gym teacher said: “alright The Ramones!” And he first bumped me. I hope I never forget that moment
i was at kings island wearing a whitechapel shirt and this older guy tapped my shoulder and was like “damn i never see younger dudes wearing shirts or listening to music like this anymore”
I recently ordered 3 Queen tshirts. I would never buy a band t-shirt when I don't listen to them. It's just stupid to me. People wear them because they find it cool and stylish or whatever. But they're actually made for the actual fans that listen to the band's music. Whatever I guess we'll just have to live with it lmao
The worst thing ever is when someone wears a metal shirt for the “grunge aesthetic” cause first of all metal is not grunge it’s very different and second of all I get all exited to see someone with a cool band shirt and I go up to them and ask them about it but they don’t actually know the band
All because some brain dead retards decided to wear slayer and Iron Maiden shirts for “fashion.” If you don’t like the band, THEN DON’T WEAR THE SHIRT!!!
My friend Braxton wore an Iron Maiden hoodie to school; I asked him what his favorite song was. He said “it”s my brother’s, I don’t listen to them but I’ve heard of them”. If you think it looks cool and you still know the band that’s fine with me
My fiancé always wears a Carach Angren shirt with “Wrong Forest Motherf---“ on the back 😬. I wore a Maiden shirt to Disney once and you’re right, had some good conversations lol
Well… I’m 40 and love your shirts! I still get butthurt people reacting to my NIN shirts. You are who you are and don’t worry about “people” that can’t accept that. We are a community of our own!
I wore a slayer shirt to work once because it was a supposed to be a casual Friday type deal. The whole day every customer I got would give me weird looks like I had some shit on my face or something. It was a pretty tame shirt too. It's just a skull with some soldiers and I think there's a little blood. It was okay though because my boss saw it and immediately said he loved it
Awww, we don't get casual Friday's at work, that's pretty cool though, where do you work??? I would have worn my DEICIDE Legion shirt or my KREATOR EXTREME AGGRESSION shirt so customers would respect me because of Mille's crossed arms and serious face. Seriously though, the amount of times I've seen people wearing metal shirts while I'm in uniform kind of sucks, like, I know it's not hard to go up to a customer and say, "Hey nice shirt, I like Slayer" or Cannibal Corpse but I would rather be wearing a metal shirt when talking to another metalhead. Also if I'm working and It's quite busy, I can't yell "FUCKING SLAYER" if I spot someone wearing a Slayer shirt, of course, if that person just happens to be waiting in line at my checkout, then fuck yeah, that person would make my day.
Don't know if you still work there or not, but... Your boss sounds awesome, maybe you could get him to let you wear metal shirts to work all the time...
I was wearing my Ride the lighting Metallica t shirt at school, and this kid who sits right next to me in my ELA class said to me "does that shirt say minecraft?"😤😕😤😕😤😕😤😕😤
I was wearing the tamest Black Sabbath shirt possible, literally just the name of the band at a bible camp and a girl looked at me like It was a slayer or cannibal corpse shirt
One night I walked into Buffalo wild wings. I am 11 and I would with my dad. I was wearing a slayer T-shirt with the flaming skull that was bleeding out his eyes And there was this one lady that was about 65-ish and she gave me A stair like I killed her cat. Then about 15 minutes later I get up to go to the bathroom and she sees on the back of my shirt it says show no mercy and have the big pentagram and the goat looking dude from the art show no mercy slayer's debut record. I come back from the bathroom before I can sit down the lady says to me "can you not wear such graphic clothes what are you 13. 13-year-old should not worship the devil."I said "I'm 11 and I don't worship the devil." She said to my dad "you seem like a terrible parent letting your child listen to such ear piercing music." Then she left.
Call yourself a metalhead? You should have stabbed her in the face with a femur bone from a still suffering deer...... JOKE!!!!! Shit, this is the thing with a lot of metal t-shirts, people don't seem to realise that they are mostly TONGUE IN(a rotting) CHEEK!
So what if they are Xtian? (I don't know the band myself) religion should not come into it when it comes to metal. Either a good band or not. Hell, most "so-called" Satanic bands are closet Christians anyway - they just play on an image to sell records to angsty teenagers.; Glen Benton is still alive.
Ali Jr. If your a Christian that likes metal ( like me ) Everyone reacts the same way... You listen to screamo :/, that brings 0 Glory to GOD 😐, I hope you know a few hymns at least.... Also how can you hear any of the lyrics, it's just noise and trash 😡 *Me* First, it's not Scremo, HUGE Difference between the 2, and it can be Glorifying to GOD sometimes 😎, if you listen to it enough the lyrics aren't that hard to hear. *plays a song 👇* ruclips.net/video/bBzkKQx3gH8/видео.html *looks of horror and shock appear... one usually passes out or begs for mercy* Afterwards a Religious argument usually ensues XD. By the way, a lot of Christians Love metal :), it's usually the 40+ year olds that are hell bent on Hymns and traditional music. I'm not saying all 40+ year olds don't like it, but a majority out here are pretty closed minded on the subject of music in general. Your 35 and younger Group usually is cool with Hard Rock through Heavy Metal ;) Rock on! \m/ (>~
Peter Malchuk omggg samee! I grew up in a southern Christian family and I started to get into metal, rock etc and like everyone thinks I’m some kind of devil worshiper
Vulgar Display of Power t-shirt got me tons of uncomfortable looks and politely asked by my high school principal to wear my coat for the rest of the day.
i got kicked out of my music class from wearing a slipknot shirt and what was funny the next week we had a new music teacher and i wore the same shirt hoping to get kicked out agian then he said awesome shirt your the metalhead right? by the way we are going to listen to some tool in class to show how wide metal music can be so it's good your here THAT MY FUCKING TEACHER HE WAS FUCKING AWESOME
Caleb Boyd I wish I could have had your teacher. I played drums since 5th grade ( I'm 24 now) and I had an awesome band teacher. but, when I was a sophomore, he left and the new teacher was such a douchebag. he was the reason I quit. he sucked.
I mentioned my Bathory sweatshirt to my English teacher and then we had a conversation about the whole Scandinavian Black Metal scene. I also wanted to get a reproduction Seditionaries shirt and my teachers were a little concerned.
The shirt that can give you also mean or weird looks is definitely Acid Bath's When The Kite String Pops shirt. It literally has the painting of the most terrifying serial killer on it. I've bought a custom patch of this album cover for my battle jacket, just to have this weird looks thrown at me, and also I love this album.
The other day I was at Applebees and had to use the Bathroom and this worker says Nice shirt, A couple of weeks ago my brother got a Slayer shirt and he told me when he was walking to his class a teacher who was like 50 said, SLAYER.
I'm a girl & I'm 5'3 so I look pretty innocent. Sometimes I'm wearing normal clothes & you can't really tell then that I'm listening to metal. If people see me for the first time in band shirts when they are normally used to seeing me in normal clothes their reaction is priceless. I remember my moms friend staring at me like I need jesus as I was standing in front of her in a Cannibal Corpse shirt.
I am 44 and have been into metal since the age of eight! There are a lot of people my age and older who live metal! My father loves metal as well, we will hangout, drink beer and listen to bands such as Mortician, Death, Nile and many many others! He actually gave me my first taste of death and black metal with a tape of underground bands from around the world. We played in a black metal band years ago, we also played in a punk band for a few years as well. He is definitely not your average father. Great videos by the way.
I live in Colombia, almost no one listens to metal here. Went to a mall with my Devil wears prada t shirt and EVERYONE was looking at me. And i looked at them, everyone with their exotic 100$ blank shirt that has a small logo on his side and me with 10$ t shirt, someone asked me if i was satanic, and tdwp is a Christian Metalcore band

Yo soy de cali y tengo una camiseta de iron maiden y la gran mayoría de veces que he salido con ella he tenido mucha momentos bien curiosos xDD
I was wearing a Slayer shirt that says "not of this God" and has a picture of a demon, and some old lady in her 60s walked up to me at the mall and said I need to find Jesus or I'm going to hell, I said ok lady, and then she said that "it should be illegal to wear those shirts because you arean agent of the devil influencing children to turn to satan"... NO JOKE, IT WAS INSANE, I was laughing my ass off until she just walked away
I'm Catholic but Catholic old ladies are so extra 😂😂 I wore a Metallica shirt around my church one time and go so many weird looks. It was so damn funny
Damn, what an experience, I'm a Christian myself but damn I don't take it that seriously. That old lady is the one scaring kids with her religious beliefs.
Are you in Poland or Russia that you get those comments ?? XD i am polish and comments from old Christian ladies are hilarious ... same when i Heard priest talking that metal is a music made up in Hell in church when i was young kid and my mom forced me to come .... XDDD i got those Looks from family and i was like ye ye fuck it
I got in trouble in school for wearing my "Speak English or die" shirt from S.O.D. I live in Germany by the way so I can't understand why they take this serious... xD
I met my boyfriend this way. :D I was wearing my Death shirt and he just ran up to me all excited to meet a girl that listens to them. :D And I love it when random people approach me because they like the band and want to talk about it. It makes my day so much better every single time.
i did that in the 80s just to see what would happen. i was also called a bad influence and told to leave the church and change my top The shirt was Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood
I went to a new hairdresser to get a mullet and to dye my hair purple, I was wearing a Bathory shirt with the huge pentagram on the back and there was another hairstylist in the place who asked me before I was leaving if I know that the symbol on my back is related to Satan and if I am Satanic or something and I was just standing and nodding like “ No man what r u sayin” ...
oH Hey GUYs it'S CoLe HErE, I like Marilyn Manson and metal music. Just because you say he’s trash doesn’t mean that everyone has to repeat what you say like a record. Let people like what they want.
Ok, literally this person was telling a story and (nearly) everyone is here telling them Marilyn Manson is a sissy. That is not going to do anything. Even though MM is not the heaviest band ever but it's definitely not for everyone and pretty controvertial.
props for including that discharge shirt!!! as a punk im super happy that metalheads also appreciate punk bands sometimes! punk needs much more recognition!
I have an Obituary shirt that says "CHOPPED IN HALF" on the back. I've worn it to school many times and nobody ever said anything about it other than a couple art teachers that complemented me lmao
I have an Iron Maiden t-shirt (Killers) And my mom tried to hide it. I confronted her with that, and said: be glad I don't have any Kreator or Cannibal Corpse shirt, because those are waaay more over the top. So she gave it back.
I was wearing a bonded by blood t shirt and a teacher kept giving me funny looks. I asked if everything was okay and he said "you have creepy naked babies on your shirt". I responded with yup and carried on with my day.
lol I remember the looks I was getting wearing my Bonded by Blood t-shirt in LA and NYC. I couldn't even imagine anyone in those enormous cities would pay attention to someone's t-shirt but I was so wrong apparently. Oh and I remember some guy who asked me if that was AC/DC lmfao
Your school must be pretty conservative. I wore shirts way worse than that throughout middle/high school and the worst case scenario was getting kicked out of class or having to turn it inside out. I once had to call my mom and have her bring me a different shirt to wear because of a Charles Manson shirt, but that was because the teacher didn't like me anyway. But I wasn't suspended or anything. Maybe people are more sensitive these days, which is ironic because with the internet we've all seen way more fucked up real shit than ever before, but now people are always actively looking for an excuse to be offended.
I went to the Diagon Alley thing at universal wearing a Christian Death shirt and one of the Wizard dudes ended up talking to me for a while about them, it was cool
The other day, I was at Fred Meyer doing grocery shopping, sporting my Cannibal Corpse shirt (the censored version of Tomb of The Mutilated), fresh shaved, clean and fresh cut hair, and clothes freshly cleaned after laundry day. Feeling good, looking clean. Got my cart filled with what my 20-year-old stomach loves and can afford off minimum wage...pop tarts, ramen, and generic cereal. And a gallon of milk. Just strolling around grabbing my shit. Taking my time doing my weekly shopping. Being courteous, in a good mood, smiling, saying "Oop, excuse me, sorry!" if I almost cut someone off. Not screaming any Satanic spells, or burning crosses, or punting babies. Just a normal dude doing my thing. Then out of the sudden, as I'm grabbing my knock-off Lucky Charms, this woman notices my shirt. Again, I'm wearing the censored version (out of courtesy, because 8-year-olds don't need to see a dead guy eating out a dead woman in my opinion). She sees it and gives me a fucking earful of how I'm "poisoning the minds of the youth" and "undermining their character" and some other anti-metal-mother crap. I'm looking at her, just dumbfounded of what's going on. I ask her "Uh, I don't know what you're talking about...how did I undermine the youth?" and she gives me the knowledge of "promoting horrific actions and obscenity is causing violence and disobedience in children" and how I should be "ashamed" of myself. So I just let her know, that as a metalhead "I'm just here to buy some Marshmallow Mateys. Have a good day." and walk away.
Another time, in jr. high, I was suspended for wearing a Slayer shirt, from the Hell On Earth Tour (Exodus opened, Slayer after, and then Rob Zombie headlining). It wasn't really an inappropriate shirt. Wasn't a Seasons in The Abyss shirt, not Reign in Blood shirt, not South of Heaven. Nor was it Jesus disfigured on the Christ Illusion shirt. It was just the eagle with SLAYER right in the center and the pentagram is on the bottom, super tiny. I was suspended for "inappropriate dress code" and "hateful/threatening imagery".
PBnJGuitarist Your school must've been strict. I have a friend who wore a Slayer shirt recently, it was of their newest album Repentless, and I assume nothing happened to him, especially since he survived at least until 5th period, the second to last period every day, with no problems of dress code I know of. I also wear my Ghost shirt often and nothing happens except for maybe some dirty looks, yes, MAYBE. I don't think people notice most of the time.
K McAlpine Yeah...I live up in Washington (state. Not DC). If you've never been to Washington, people here get offended super easily and if you offend someone as a child/teen here, you will get punished. Offensiveness is pretty much illegal here. Fucking sucks. I've considered moving to Germany when I can afford that.
My blasphemy shirt has a man’s body with a goat skull head on it holding a giant reverse cross on it with a severed head on it. Why anyone would take offense at that really escapes me. This little kid came up to me and told me he thought my shirt was awesome and when his mom saw it she couldn’t have yanked him away faster
The best thing related to this topic that happened to me was when a little girl came up to me with the intention of giving me a "Jesus loves you" balloon, but as soon as she saw my Slayer t-shirt (classic eagle design, really tame, but still satanic to the christians I guess?) she gave me this mean ass look, took the balloon and walked away. I swear the look on her face was fucking priceless lmfao
I have a Dying Fetus shirt with their old unreadable logo. On the front is a dead zombie fetus, entangled in guts. On the back it says "ORGY OF THE SICK" in huge letters. This one time, I crossed paths with a pregnant woman while wearing this shirt. It was awkward, and I was probably more scared than her! Haha. I've been cautious with that shirt ever since.
I just saw a bunch of people at an amusement park wearing a Ride the Lightning, Back in Black, Gwar, and Gojira shirts. I complimented them and they seemed flattered. Unlike what Uncle Tony was saying about them sometimes
I wore a slayer shirt to school and one of the older lady teachers complimented me and we talked about metal bands for like 20 minutes when I was supposed to be doing study hall. It was actually my mom's shirt I had borrowed. And if I did go to church, me and my grandma would totally go together with our slayer shirts!
I once had to go to the hospital to have an ultrasound on my bladder. And I'd been up the night before drinking so when my alarm went off i was still a bit brain fogged so just chucked on a random band shirt without looking at it. Got to the ultrasound department and saw quite a few pregnant women giving me dirty looks and stuff. I was confused but still didn't realise why. So i went to the bathroom to splash some water on my face. As I look up I see why... I was wearing the Cannibal Corpse "Wretched Spawn" shirt. Fuck knows how that happened.
A couple of years back, I was at a petrol station, filling up my car, and the guy on the opposite pump saw my Dark Funeral shirt and started asking me whether or not I was actually a Satan worshipper. I told him that I’m not, but I do appreciate the theatricality as well as the music. He then came over and stood next to me, and started playing a video on his phone of hardcore kids doing all that bizarre pit karate, and asked me ‘why we all dance like that’. The only answer I could come up with was, “Honestly? I have absolutely no idea.”
Wore my Slipknot shirt to school, (Iowa album by the way...) And I got told off by a VERY RELIGIOUS teacher because my shirt had 666, a goat, and pentagram on it. She told me to not wear it in her class but I still do since shes the only one that has problem with it.
I wore a slayer shirt to school and one of the old lady teachers complimented me and we talked about metal bands for like 20 minutes.
Yeah that’s fuckin awesome
That’s awesome, it will never happen at my school lmao
That happened with me and this support teacher I got him to listen to cannibal corpse
That's one awesome teacher
I had to do a school project on a band for music class, so I covered Iron Maiden, after it my music teacher and I talked more in depth afterwards and it was the coolest thing that has happened to me so far in highschool
I hate the people that wear metalica shirts and don't know a song
Ian Akers your profile picture says it all
That's nearly impossible, everyone heard at least one song of them: Nothing Else Matters... okay, that's not a good excuse to wear a t-shirt of them, but still, it's too mainstream to be bothered.
I was wearing a ride the lightning shirt, when the librarian at my school approached me and asked me if I could name any songs.
that one guy with the Brock Lesnar profile pic Of course, names like 5 so he got the point
A friend of a friend of mine wore an iron maidenshirt and she didn't even know what they were...
You should've just walked up to her and politely ask what was that about. Cause that was weird as fuck. :D
Damn dude what the fuck was wrong with that lady?
Where do you live?
When religious people are more evil than metalheads you know humanity is fucked over
That's fucking scary
I wore no shirt one time. I got some looks
F
I wore no pants one time. I got some jail time.

If anyone ever gives you any trouble, introduce them to Blasphemy.
You must have seen the ask Lemmy video
I'm in the south so it's older, southern, religious people who give me nervous looks. I feel that they should take time to educate themselves. I'm in my mid thirties so I usually don't care. 🤘
Hey, may I ask you what's up with black folks wearing metal shirts now? Not like you, but people who wear them as fashion, I think they must sell them at Jimmy Jamz now. Alot is Iron Maiden. I ask, and no, they don't listen to them.
That’s me brother
I saw this girl in my English class wearing a Slayer shirt. Keep in mind this girl had blonde hair, wore big hoop earrings, long lashes, tight skinny jeans, and white Nike Air Force 1 shoes. My teacher said to her, “Slayer. What do you know about them?” She replied with “oh nothing really, I just like the other bands like Nirvana and Deftones, stuff like that”
Probably borrowed it from their metalhead sibling
This is hilarious 😂😂💀

This happened to me when I wore a Misfits shirt lmao. I checked them out and wasn’t a fan 🤷🏻♀️
"Why do you wear so much black?"
It's what we Metal People like to Do
My friend thought that metal heads and emos were the same because they both wear lots of black 😂
Hides the embarrassing armpit sweat
Not racist, just a pov...buuut...
I've noticed white people wear black or dark clothes, then all these dark skinned wear all white or the whitest of shoes in the world. No offense but white shoes get fucked up easier than black ones.
"Has somebody died?" always gets me going 😂
I once saw a mom at my school wearing an Amon Amarth shirt, I was so happy for the rest of the day lol.
I was super happy when my grandma wore a slayer shirt she bought at the concert my mom took her too as a mothers day present. My mom said she said she wished she could have taken me but 3 tickets was to expensive.
There's this girl on my campus that is always wearing the exact same Amon Amarth shirt whenever I see her, this tells me two things:
- She either doesn't shower or she washes the same damn shirt every day.
- I don't know if she actually likes Amon Amarth or she just likes the design.
Anyways, I'd love to ask and see the response.
incredible shit band
@café Neudstadt that's sth that pisses me off in metal community "oh this band is shitty, bla bla this is not metal mimimi they aren't hard enough" what the fuck? you don't have to like them but why do you need to write that they're shit?
i wish my life was half as interesting as yours!
I had a friend in high school that heard me talking about black sabbath and he interjected and said:
"oh that death metal stuff is crazy I don't know how u listen to that."
I've never been so disappointed in society.
Is he still your friend?
Yeah saying stuff like that could really *SABOTAGE* a friendship... okay I’ll leave now
Ozzy, tony and everyone else in sabbath would be extremely disappointed with ur friend
Why not just be disappointed in your friend?
I get told I look “southern” “Irish” “Victorian era” with what I wear.
My principal is hardcore Christian, I “accidentally” only brought my symphony of destruction, slayer, and anthrax shirts on our school trip. Oh man she was livid!
Should of bought a The Devil Wears Prada t shirt, and if he said anything tell them they’re christian metal....because well they are.

My dad looked straight at my Napalm Death shirt, STRAIGHT AT IT, and said, "Oh, I haven't heard of Nuclear Banana." I guess their logo is a little hard to read, but it's NOTHING compared to some band logos. My friends laughed about that for years.
Kelly Fishbeck TIL Nuclear Banana is a fucking awesome name for a metal band
Nuclear banana lmfao

Try to read 55gore"s logo. Just try.
Eh, he was probably just being a dad bro. If he’s okay with you listening to Napalm Death, he’s probably cool enough to make a joke about the band. Either way, if he meant it or not, your dad is cool.
i remember having a basketball jersey that said slayer on the front and had ‘666’ on the back and i was at the mall and this guy handed me a business card to attend a local church, ill never forget that day
thats a compliment in my book lol
They never talked to me after that 😂😂
🤘🤘
Rock on!
My Cannibal Corpse “Eaten Back to Life” shirt made a baby cry once lol
Lol 😂😂😂😂 he will be a pussy in the future

I started off hating metal so he might grow up to be a metalhead

I wore a motorhead shirt to gym once and my gym teacher said “oh you’re into that death metal stuff” dumbest thing i’ve ever heard.
Why? He just asked

I mean Mötorhead isn't Death Metal. My mom met them once.
Still the effort tho
A friend of mine was wearing a Motörhead shirt in school and a teacher called him a Nazi.
Me and this girl were wearing the same band shirt in the street and as we walked past each other we pointed at the others shirt and high fived, I later found out that she studied in the same place as me and we are now friends and we owe it all to band shirts 😆😂
Right on \m/
That’s how I make friends at my school. “Hey I love your shirt, man!” “Oh thanks!” And then we just talk about metal for hours on end, and one I’m even starting an Irish/Celtic power metal band with!

Yeah, I get quite a few strange looks for metal shirts too. I noticed that the lighter the metal, the fewer looks I get. I attract a lot less attention wearing aluminium shirts than I do wearing cast iron ones, and the one time I put on a lithium shirt, people actually had trouble noticing me.
Gulag-senpai XD
Gulag-senpai I put on pennys and I never got a look! But once I wore lithium to once! Oh the looks!
Yeah it's the same for me, wore this osmium shirt once. Biggest mistake I ever made because a bunch of dudes beat me up.

Damn some americans can be judgemental. Im swedish
Hey Vsauce Robbery Here same here haha i was wearing Emperor reverence shirt with a pentagram on the back and never get any weird looks lol
What Mayhem or Slayer bandart has " a dead upside down jesus hanging out of the mouth of a corpse" ? I don't remember seeing that.
Scandinavia's a great place for metal, especially in Norway. Ask fans of Immortal, Abbath, Chrome Division, Burzum, Gorgoroth and Emperor.

Respect brother 🤘
Facts. Im a Christian and I love metal. I draw the line at satanic lyrics & themes but theres plenty of extreme metal that doesnt dive into that.

i was out in town with some of my friends and i was wearing the most basic nirvana tee (the black one with the yellow logo) and this guy screamed from the other side of the street “i love your shirt” so i looked at my shirt and realised the guy was wearing the same shirt so i walked up to him and we had a 15 minute long conversation about nirvana and some other bands.

I wore a Metallica shirt today and a teacher said she loved my shirt and she said that Metallica was her favorite band to see live
Awesome teacher!
that's because your teacher comes from my generation
our teachers listened to elvis and the Beatles

I recently ordered 3 Queen tshirts. I would never buy a band t-shirt when I don't listen to them. It's just stupid to me. People wear them because they find it cool and stylish or whatever. But they're actually made for the actual fans that listen to the band's music. Whatever I guess we'll just have to live with it lmao

I remember my moms friend staring at me like I need jesus as I was standing in front of her in a Cannibal Corpse shirt.
Dude same! I'm a girl and 5'1! I like metal, I wear it to work every now and then. Not too often cause I like the strange looks I get! Lol
Bro literally happened today 😂 I dress like a basic white girl and I wore a behemoth shirt at school 😂😂
I'm a guy at 3ft 6 they tell me I look like a little dio haha I'm jk I just wanted to get in on the short action 🤣👍🤘
Lmfao same. Except I’m tall as shit. 5’8. Makes me look indimidating.
same dudee im 5'1 and i wear a lot of death metal shirt and people always thought I need help or something lol
So basically
"The Fabric And The Power It Holds"
I love the Death reference 🤘🏾
Sound of perseverance, great album. My favorite albums are spiritual healing and scream bloody gore.
@@danielhdz9243 Mine are Leprosy and Spiritual Healing. How good are the riffs for Zombie Ritual from Scream Bloody Gore? 🤘🏾👌🏾
Should of said I'm of to meet Satan on the weekend. Wanna come too?
Damn, what an experience, I'm a Christian myself but damn I don't take it that seriously. That old lady is the one scaring kids with her religious beliefs.
The funny part is, Tom is a practicing catholic
Are you in Poland or Russia that you get those comments ?? XD i am polish and comments from old Christian ladies are hilarious ... same when i Heard priest talking that metal is a music made up in Hell in church when i was young kid and my mom forced me to come .... XDDD i got those Looks from family and i was like ye ye fuck it
I love the soccor mom glare. I get that look from wearing a final tour slayer shirt. Like tf
Man I'm 40 and still rock metal shirts daily. Love the channel always informative and entertaining
I wore my Carnifex shirt to Walmart, and some old guy comes up to me and gives me a church card 😂😂
One time an old lady tackled me and yelled about my cannibal corpse shirt. She broke my nose
Are u ok?
Talk about an overreaction 😬
For real?
That’s fucked up
Did you alert the cops?
There's a picture of my mom wearing a Cannibal Corpse shirt at the beach and some old lady giving her the meanest look in the background. I love that.
I wore a Metallica shirt to Church once and got called a bad influence
What the hell? Who called you that?
Wear a cannibal corpse one at church and tell us their reactions
i did that in the 80s just to see what would happen.
i was also called a bad influence and told to leave the church and change my top
The shirt was Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood
My church mostly does not care what I wear but I was wearing a master of puppets shirt and someone thought it was a another church
Whenever I get looks in public, idk why but the looks on people’s faces are hilarious for some reason
I had a older lady make the sign of the cross in front of me and my family because I was wearing a Marilyn Manson shirt .... 😂
Marilyn Manson is the fakest shit shit ever
oH Hey GUYs it'S CoLe HErE, I like Marilyn Manson and metal music. Just because you say he’s trash doesn’t mean that everyone has to repeat what you say like a record. Let people like what they want.
Yeah, because she knew you're a poser.
Jasonas Skopas State one fact that proves I'm a poser
Ok, literally this person was telling a story and (nearly) everyone is here telling them Marilyn Manson is a sissy. That is not going to do anything. Even though MM is not the heaviest band ever but it's definitely not for everyone and pretty controvertial.
props for including that discharge shirt!!! as a punk im super happy that metalheads also appreciate punk bands sometimes! punk needs much more recognition!
Café Neustadt Hell yeah! Punks and metalheads together!!!!
Discharge are cult.
"Antarctica in red" lmao
I have an Obituary shirt that says "CHOPPED IN HALF" on the back. I've worn it to school many times and nobody ever said anything about it other than a couple art teachers that complemented me lmao
I have an Iron Maiden t-shirt (Killers)
And my mom tried to hide it. I confronted her with that, and said: be glad I don't have any Kreator or Cannibal Corpse shirt, because those are waaay more over the top.
So she gave it back.
Kreator?..
iron maiden is daddy of them all.
@@anna-gh6hx a thrash metal band from Germany. They're fantastic
@@DatMetalBoi75 I know, I love them. I was just confused that he brought them up here because I never though their shirts were that crazy
@@anna-gh6hx their shirts can be a little out there
I was wearing a bonded by blood t shirt and a teacher kept giving me funny looks. I asked if everything was okay and he said "you have creepy naked babies on your shirt". I responded with yup and carried on with my day.
Stupid teacher
Shit teacher
That teacher has no taste
lol I remember the looks I was getting wearing my Bonded by Blood t-shirt in LA and NYC. I couldn't even imagine anyone in those enormous cities would pay attention to someone's t-shirt but I was so wrong apparently.
Oh and I remember some guy who asked me if that was AC/DC lmfao
I've got a Bonded By Blood shirt as well, one of my chorus mates told me I shouldn't wear shirts with naked babies on them.
wore a slayer t shirt to school in middle school once, i got dress coded lol
Glad to see you online again dude!, i will be buying shirts soon! ty for awesome advice!!!!!!!!!
You get all sorts of weird looks if you wear a metal shirt in India.
I wore a kill 'em all shirt and i got a 2 weeks suspension
Lol
THRASH AS FUCK
byte People are sensitive these days.
Damn! I wore Metal up your Ass always and never an issue? now almost a different shirt in each vid 30 years later LOL
2 weeks suspension for that 😂😂😂
I went to the Diagon Alley thing at universal wearing a Christian Death shirt and one of the Wizard dudes ended up talking to me for a while about them, it was cool
My Slipknot shirt got banned from my school because it was “ too gory “ even though it was just a body ripping off the masks of all the members
PBnJGuitarist co.e to Georgia or Florida (Marrietta or Vero Beach)
"Not screaming any Satanic spells, or burning crosses, or punting babies"
Your doing it all wrong mate!
"Why are they watching me?" my life in one sentence
basically when in wearing either my green day "dookie" or my nirvana shirt, i get looks because they think im a poser
Right? and why is she any better, it all just THE WIGGLES! /w\
I have that shirt two it always gets dirty looks
fucking love that disfiguring the goddess album logo \m/
Who's There? Iam done iam making a video now of me throwing my phone out of the window
I have that shirt too lol it's my fave
I wouldn't call the old df logo unreadable. I'm going to buy the Grotesque Impalement shirt and I'm very exited about the looks I'll get
I just saw a bunch of people at an amusement park wearing a Ride the Lightning, Back in Black, Gwar, and Gojira shirts. I complimented them and they seemed flattered. Unlike what Uncle Tony was saying about them sometimes
dave mustaines long lost brother
I wore a Slayer shirt to church. I think I've said enough haha
PunkRock!
I wore a slayer shirt to church too lol.
Try a Ghost (B.C) shirt and then tell me what happens
I wore it under something else lol
I once had to go to the hospital to have an ultrasound on my bladder. And I'd been up the night before drinking so when my alarm went off i was still a bit brain fogged so just chucked on a random band shirt without looking at it. Got to the ultrasound department and saw quite a few pregnant women giving me dirty looks and stuff. I was confused but still didn't realise why. So i went to the bathroom to splash some water on my face. As I look up I see why... I was wearing the Cannibal Corpse "Wretched Spawn" shirt. Fuck knows how that happened.
cool story bro
Least it wasn't a Dying Fetus shirt XD
I was expecting you to say it was a dying fetus or butchered at birth shirt
you should put on a Butcherd at birth t shirt.its much much better idea
A couple of years back, I was at a petrol station, filling up my car, and the guy on the opposite pump saw my Dark Funeral shirt and started asking me whether or not I was actually a Satan worshipper. I told him that I’m not, but I do appreciate the theatricality as well as the music.
He then came over and stood next to me, and started playing a video on his phone of hardcore kids doing all that bizarre pit karate, and asked me ‘why we all dance like that’. The only answer I could come up with was,
“Honestly? I have absolutely no idea.”
Haha!
Wore my Slipknot shirt to school, (Iowa album by the way...) And I got told off by a VERY RELIGIOUS teacher because my shirt had 666, a goat, and pentagram on it. She told me to not wear it in her class but I still do since shes the only one that has problem with it.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago and I had to go to the office for it. 💀
