The Public Safety crisis in Oakland needs to be aggressively addressed out of respect and commitment to the majority of law abiding citizens who live in Oakland. The state has to step in with massive funding for more cops and Alameda County should say goodbye to the A’s and use the proposed $300m-$400m handout to the A’s ownership group and direct it toward hiring more cops and expanding anti-violence programs. How many more people have to die or be victims of violence before aggressive actions are taken?
