    Thumbs up because I would try to be a perfectionist with this and you gave it your best attempt and showed honest results. Thank you!

    Something I try to think about whenever I get a scratch on the Tesla or any car is that someone who isn’t as fortunate would be grateful to even have the car you have. Stay grateful and humble 💙🤘🏻 don’t be too hard on yourself things happen it’s a car!

    Just noticed that this video is a year old now and I have to say the paint at least has held up within the crack even though it's still not perfect. But then again, there many more scruffs from just stone chips and such that it "blends" in. :)

      "scuffs". 😃 Thanks for the follow-up.

    I appreciate the honest review on this. Definitely a bummer that it doesn't work that well.

    Thanks for sharing this! Nothing is going to match a factory paint job, but this should at least protect the metal from the elements and make it blend in a bit. Going to do this on my Model 3 soon, hope you were kidding about application 149...

    Hey thanks for taking the time to post this video. I just ordered my kit and your video is super helpful. I know it won't match factory paint, but at least it will prevent the metal from rusting. Anyways, It still looks good from a distant 👌

    • @SJAutos

      It should match it, unless it’s not tesl branded.

    Nice video. I had a rock slam against my hood then my windshield the other day. Just noticed that it left a few scratches similar to what you had. I’m just waiting for the touch up kit to arrive then I will try what you did.

    I appreciate your dedication and honesty. I have a Buick lacrosse that I need to apply paint to and I feel that my experience will probably be the same. I'm blown, because it happened at work and no one stepped up and owned up to it. Cops go figure. Peace my friend.

    I looked up this video because I just bought the kit due to 2 scratches in my rear M3 door jamb. Not sure how it got there. In any case, I noticed you put the paint on top and to the right of the scratch and then squeegeed it from 8 to 2 o'clock (left to right).. That's moving the paint a way from the scratch. Either put the paint to the left of the scratch or squeegee it from right to left. Thanks for the video though.

    did a better job then other people ive seen... but u gave me a few ideas and now im more confident i can do it the correct way.
    what im thinking should be done is apply a bit of paint (dab) and use the squeegee that was provided to apply the paint into the crevasse of the scratch all while scrapping excess paint off with the same squeegee. in essence because the squeegee is flat you’ll be essentially taking off the paint with the squeegee while the paint that’s applied inside the scratch will remain. i would use the blending solution on my finger (with the glove on and just rub lightly around everywhere i smeared the paint. use the cloth to blend it all in and micro fiber cloth to polish.

      I'd love to see the result if you do it! My skills sucks and obviously being the first time I've done this it's not the greatest. Wasn't able to find other videos out there to follow a good method.

    did my deep rock chips on my tesla, found that if u let the blob dry and hit it with the blending solution, you'll get a better result.

    • @exil3dlivecom
      @exil3dlivecom Месяц назад

      Yes! Don't do the paint on the side and squeegee. Just blob it carefully along the scratch then solution it but use a flat small block with the towel and supplies cleaner liquid

    As a detailer if you buy a Tesla just spend 1-3k on a front end PaintProtectionFilm ‘PPF’. Tesla paint is a hard paint to wash and correct any scratches.

    • @alejandromerino7002
      @alejandromerino7002 2 месяца назад

      Notice how it wasn’t the front end. A job like that is easily 3k/5k

    • @EjinPagh

      Tesla paint is cheap... PPF is a waste. It's only going to last for so long & would not totally protect the paint anyway.

    Tesla gave me the number of a ding repair guy and for example for 225 dollars he could smooth that ding in your door. He did mine on my Model 3 and then said for the scratch don’t use the Tesla tools instead use a sharp toothpick without excess paint to apply inside the scratch which I will try.
    I did not like the job you did here by following the instructions.

    Tesla's paint quality is horrible.... I have 1100 miles on mine, and already chips on my front bumper... 3 of them. I've had my motorcycle for 4 years, 20k miles, and no paint chips....they need to work on that. The vehicle quality and capabilities themselves are amazing. I have the 2022 M3P

    Had the same experience as you when trying to fix some scuff marks. Quite a waste of money. In the past I have used Duplicolor on other cars to fix scratches and that's worked out nicely- Tesla's paint kit? Not so much.

  • @michaelwilson3587
    @michaelwilson3587 8 месяцев назад

    I'm starting to think Tesla vehicles just have weak or poor quality paint and glass. I've had mine less than 2 months and already have a paint chip on the hood and a 1mm sized windshield chip.

  • @cynthiavan6844
    @cynthiavan6844 Год назад

    I just tried Tesla’s kit on a round chip near the rear wheel, and it was equally disappointing after hours of attention. The touched up spot is very dull and obvious (and car polish doesn’t help).

      Bro. That looks awful. Lol. I did the same repair but did it old school. Wetsand to level with base and clear. Came out a bit better than yours but not by much. I ended having the panel repainted. That's the only way to get it 100%
