- If your Tesla has never had PPF, odds are that it'll have many paint chips like this 2018 Model 3. We just got this car used and wanted to touch it up before applying PPF, so of course we had to do a paint touch up comparison between the top two DIY kits. Let us know if you want to see a professional touch up process in the comments!

No filters, no lights. This is outside a day after paint repair.
@@tesbrosso Dr color chip is better right?
@@webada it’s the same pretty much other than packaging so yes, I’d go with dr color
Should we make a paint touch up video - pro version?
Yes please!
Yes!
Yes please
Bummer. A year later and no video on how to correct paint like a pro
Great video!
Overfill and level out with blending solution. Can repeat to build up TU paint.
The reason why you use the spreader tool is that when you spread the paint into/over the damaged recess. The spreader will not remove paint from the void. Where as your finger, which is soft, will remove paint from the void. Less paint in the void will make it more noticeable.
You didn’t use the included red squeegee from the Tesla kit after applying the paint, to level it out, before using the blending solution to remove the excess. This would have given you much better results imo.
right he focused too much on the scratched area with the blending solution, use squeegee and then try to avoid going on the actual spot itself with the blending solution.
@@EJ-en5xlMy Dr. CC kit came with a squeegee. Sometimes I use it and sometimes don’t. It’s not amazing.
Nice. Now do this on Obsidian Black.
No clear coat ? Or primer
Dr Colorchip makes that Tesla kit, it's the same thing with a different package, you can verify that with Dr. Colorchip
Yep. You are correct
Hi if I oversanded a chip (surrounding area) such that the clearcoat may have been slightly lifted from the good paint area - should I use clearcoat on this area, or a polisher?
Hard to give advice without a photo, but I would recommend asking a local professional. But if clear coat lifted then polishing is a no go. Level it up first and then polish if needed.
you waited 20minutes to use the bledning solutoin? I thought it was 5min.
Dude did not follow the instructions
Would you recommend sandpapering the chip before the paint touch up?
No because you may damage the paint around it
@@tesbros Ok, thanks
Afterwards you clean the brush with?
Warm water with dish soap and let it air dry
Thanks
Tesla uses Dr. colorchip touch up system, it's the same product.
Show a professional touch up please next time.
It's on our list! Happy to do a video about that.
250 AUD (161 USD) to get my entire bonnet resprayed because of rock chips.
I think I might do this later, but for now I'll patch the chips - as you don't really want to spend $250 a year.
Just stop right there and tell the audience that it is pretty much just Doctor color chip repackaged for Tesla.
No need for a video this long. Jeezus.
Dr.ColorChip is always a different shade I would not buy it again.
Dr color chip black was a perfect match for me
@@joshhud Black...
@@joshhud For Tesla Model 3 (Solid Black)?
Both are the samr paint. DRPAINTCHIP supplies Tesla with the kit and Tesla white labels it.
