    I am 56 years old, 3 years post-menopause and started eating WFPB in March because of my high cholesterol and just got my lipid panel done on April 25. My numbers improved dramatically! My total cholesterol went from 318 to 159, LDL went from 230 to 97!!

    I’ve completely re-envisioned breakfast. I’m eating things like squash soup with beans for breakfast, with a handful of greens in there. Total game changer! I feel like a million bucks on the days I start out with these kinds of meals.

    I really appreciate this series. Thank you for all you do for us. Your channel is one of my very favorites. interestingly enough, i have never had one hot flash. I’m 55. I started eating mostly vegan for the last 5 years or longer. And I take evening primrose oil nightly for the last 10 years.

    Thank you Emmie. Fortunately I don’t really have a problem with hot flashes… unfortunately I cannot eat Soy of any kind. I have a sever intolerance to Soy. What would you recommend to substitute for healthy legumes in this case? Blessings! 🙏🏻💕

    Hi Emmie! Love your channel. I haven't eaten meat in 25 years for ethical reasons but now that I am past menopause, I am wondering about how much protein is necessary to maintain or increase muscle mass on a plant based/vegan diet. Would you consider addressing this issue in a future video?

    I am the best 😊 I just received my soy beans and will be preparing them today so I can start eating them tomorrow.       @@Moon52171 I have seen a difference, I feel healthier, hot flashes are not as dramatic, weight is slowly coming off. I’m on a good mindset, enjoying my meals, one meal at a time ☺️

    I am the best! I buy bulk soybeans at my local discount market, cook up a big batch and freeze them. So convenient and they have such a mild taste I can put them in almost anything I eat. Or I just nibble on them alone.

      I am the same but I get organic beans pressure cook them 30 mins. Season with Indian spices no oil. I can eat them with no allergies. Any other soy I cannot tolerate. Been eating them for months ever since I saw Dr Bernard talking about it. Game changer.

    Hahaha i thought gosh, that’s strange, people are making the same typo! I thought hey meant to type “you” are the best!!!! Haha then i found out. So every morning for breakfast i have a veg salad of sliced Persian cucumber, tomato, 1/3 - 1/2 avocado and a serving of Trader Joe’s fresh edamame beans. They are so easy!!! Do they count exactly the same as soy beans. I mean, i know they are soy beans, just immature - still green. But sometimes foods have different nutritional values in different forms. Thank you. You are wonderful!

    Thank you so much. However, I am sensitive to soy it causes me to have gastritis. And bananas trigger migraines for me. However I have been on a plant-based Whole Foods plan the last couple years and do feel fantastic. I am 55 have progressed through a very natural menopause and have 15 pounds left that I can not seem to lose. Any advise about fruit and legumes that are not soy or bananas.

    I am the best! 😊 Thank you for all your amazing teaching! Please help me with potatoes! I have heard often that potatoes are super filling and satisfying and my husband and I have found potatoes to be the opposite! I will bake potatoes, layer on black beans, salsa, steamed broccoli and cashew sauce and then will feel full...but will not feel satisfied. And then we will be hungry an hour later. 🤣 Any thoughts or suggestions? I LOVE your channel, thank you for helpful content!!

    I only eat fresh fruit in season (same with veggies) but only eat at home. We don't eat fast food and don't eat out, except for a special occasion.
    Hope that's ok
    For soy beans, is tofu ok?

      I've personally seen that the white potatoes are the scapegoat. If you follow SOS 100% without added oils and processed foods, RA symptoms - from what I have seen - drop dramatically. Wishing you ultimate health!

      There can never be enough ways to get beans into your daily meals. This is one of the best. Serve on toasted 100% whole-grain bread with all the fixings. These burgers freeze well, so consider doubling the recipe so you’ll have them ready for just-thaw-and-indulge moments.

      INGREDIENTS
      ▢ 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
      ▢ ½ cup walnut pieces
      ▢ 1 ¼ inch piece fresh turmeric (or ¼ teaspoon ground) grated
      ▢ ½ cup red onion chopped
      ▢ ⅓ cup mushrooms chopped
      ▢ 1 ½ cup cooked or 1 15-ounce BPA-free can or Tetra Pak salt-free black beans rinsed and drained
      ▢ 2 tablespoons tahini or almond butter
      ▢ 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
      ▢ 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
      ▢ 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
      ▢ 2 teaspoons white miso paste
      ▢ 1 teaspoon onion powder
      ▢ ½ teaspoon garlic powder
      ▢ ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
      ▢ 1 teaspoon Savory Spice Blend
      INSTRUCTIONS
      Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
      Pulse the oats, walnuts, and turmeric in a food processor until they are finely ground. Add the onion, mushrooms, beans, tahini, and flaxseeds and pulse until well combined. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse to mix well.
      Pinch some of the mixture between your thumb and index finger to test whether it holds together. If the mixture is too wet, add more oats. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water, 1 tablespoon at a time. Transfer the mixture to a work surface and divide into four equal portions. Shape each into a patty about ½-inch thick and transfer to a plate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
      Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper and arrange the burgers on it. Bake until hot and lightly browned, turning once, about 25 minutes. Serve hot, as desired.

    I have to politely disagree with you on one point though, oranges are NOT a convenience food! They are so messy to eat and aren't grab and go type fruit as they need a knife and a napkin!😉
