I absolutely can’t wait to watch! You don’t even realize how these episodes keep me happy and having something to look forward to keep creating! I can see the beaks made out of little pieces of shiny black leather stitched. I’ve seen that cosclay and it’s so cool. I don’t like using my oven though for non food so I use air dry clay. Apoxie sculpt. Only bummer is you must wear gloves and that’s no fun. 😊
That is a great tip for making the feet! I do silk flowers so I have plenty of flower tape! Also every color of polymer clay! It was my search for making hands that led me to one of your tutorials! Also felting ismy sister's hobby so I wanted to learn a bit to understand her. About 50 tutorials later, I'm so hooked on felting & love my time with all the felting friends group on the FB page. I'll try to be here next week for the birds, it will be so fun! Happy birthday to fairy Ann!
Hello from Australia, I discovered your tutorials just before Christmas and have found myself thinking about all the things I could (try to) create at all hours. I'll have to had some birds to my ever-growing list :)
Yea Marie! Love how you are so willing to share your techniques, freely sharing what you have figured out which will ensure we have success! Thank you!!
Love the live tutorials. Couldn’t make it today but so very grateful that I can watch it when it is convenient for me. Great tutorial, thank you for doing this. 🥰👍
I can get intimidated pretty easy with projects. But you make this look so easy! Can't wait to order my stuff and make them! Thank you for keeping directions clear and easy to follow.
Thank you SO much for doing this tutorial! I have had a picture of an English robin that I have wanted to needle felt for ages but have put off as I wasn't sure how I was going to deal with the feet. I really appreciate your experimenting and sharing with us what actually works well. You are all the best 😊❤ 11:10 - measuring card 12:30 - feet 16:27 - wrapping feet and "bankles" 38:50 - beaks
Happy birthday, Anne! The awls look great, will definitely be checking those out…can’t wait to make a bird, you’ve made the beaks and bills look totally do-able! Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful new year💜💜💜
Happy New Year everyone. Missed the wonderful spirit found each and every Wednesday on this amazing show. I was so lucky to receive two Living Felt kits for Christmas. Looking forward to todays show.
Happy New Year! Love the Birdie leg and beak tutorial! I’m sure I will be watching it multiple times . You take the mystery out of this task, and make it fun and informative! Thanks again❤️
Missed the live show, so glad to be able to watch on RUclips, learned alot, I to have trouble with the tiny feet and beaks. Thank you for sharing your technique, it helped alot.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I appreciate the effort Marie has taken to make construction of the beak n feet easy n user friendly. I also think this will work for other projects I am contemplating.
This was such an eyeopener to making bird feet that are very realistic! Marie, you make it look simple with your directions, but it does look very repeatable for all of us! Thank you! Can't wait to make a wren or titmouse!
The instructions for the angle that the legs go into the body was especially helpful, thanks. I have made a chickadee and a an eastern bluebird but my next bird will be a cardinal.
Happy New Year! Watched live today and promptly heard of new stuff that I just couldn't live without! The order is in and the inspiration I so desperately needed has wandered back into my life. See you next week😁😁
Such fun tips and advice on the feet and beaks! This is so helpful! Love this first video of 2022! I do want to make some birds this year! So glad your back to the Wooly Wednesday videos! Thank you! And Happy Birthday, Anne! (Ann? spelling? Lol)
Love this video, so helpful in making feet. A thought on making it attach to a thinner branch, add another piece of wire going straight down from the leg under the toes to wrap around a smaller branch.
This was the best video on beaks and feet I have ever seen. I will give it a try this week! Happy new year ! And I love your hair! I think I may order supplies… today is -40 Celsius… love from Alberta Canada
What a fun way to start off the new year. For Christmas I got a new bird Peter hook so I can hang about seven different types of bird feeders and water excetera. I'm going to have to check out some of my new birds and maybe make one of them. Thank you for the tricks and tips for not making my bird face plant. There's a couple things I need to order from your website and I will do that today. Thank you so much and happy New Year!!
Loved this tutorial 💖 - just a hint, I am a cake decorator too and we use florist tape a lot. If you stretch it when applying it, that activates the glue on it and it sticks well. You do need a good quality tape though, some cheap ones are not so good.
Thank you for the tutorial! I tend to get stuck on projects when I’m not confident in the next step, and this will help some of my defaulted “nesting” birds. I’ve been wanting to know how to make clay beaks too. Really looking forward to trying it out.
Thank you so much for this...I love making birds and the feet have always been a struggle! Your casual, fun style is a pleasure to watch! Keep on felting!
I don't know where my head was yesterday, but I totally spazzed out on the day and missed the live show! Happy New Year to all and Happy Birthday to Anne! So glad to see WW back! Very excited to try bird feet using this method. Love the little claws and the 2 wire approach for the toes and leg. Also a great idea to cut the floral tape narrower for these small projects. When I use floral tape I've been taught to "Activate" it first by running the strip between two fingers all the way down the length so it already clings well as you wrap. Anxious to try working with CosClay, as well. Thanks so much for this fab inspirational start to 2022! 😘
I’m new at felting and found this so interesting! I haven’t done a bird yet, but now I feel I could tackle a bird project! Thank you for this tutorial!
Happy New Year Marie & Team Fairies I’m a new subscriber and just love the video. I am a beginner and just started with your Gnome tutorial. I ordered your bird kit can’t wait to start felting a bird. I’m ready😃❤️🌟
So glad to have you all back! Happy birthday An! Great demo as usual! . A suggestion, it was a little hard to see some of the demo as the background lacked contrast with the item. I m thinking of the wire against the peachy background and later with the wood table top. Looking forward to next week!
Love this new technique for legs and beaks. Got my legs done. Awaiting my order to make beaks. I have to say It wasn’t as easy for me as Marie… my floral tape kept slipping off the toe!🤣 I’m sure I just need more practice. Hoping the wire in my “kit” is less slippery than what I had on hand to use… lol. So looking forward to this weeks lesson …. The rest of the bird!💕💕
Thank you for all of the information about creating beaks and feet. I've never heard of Cos Clay, but I'll be checking it out. Really looking forward to the next live to see how you make the birds.

cutting floral tape is a brilliant tip and a why didn't I think of that moment.
Watching from the McDonald’s parking lot in Fredericksburg! Plan to stop at Living Felt tomorrow. Can’t wait!!
