Yes that is exactly correct. Cut the shape and poke your colors right into the flat felt. I don’t usually flat felt the wings. I sculpt them from the base wool then add color.
I have watched dozens of videos on chickadees and other birds. By far, yours are the best realistic. I would love it if you could do a real-time video for us newbies! I love, love, love your style. My greatest desire is to make REALISTIC birds for my home and Christmas tree.. I slowed the video speed down to .25 but it still too fast. Please help. Thank you in advance from Northern Wisconsin where hobbies during the winter are paramont!!
Yes I would be happy too. My next project will be hummingbirds. I just finished two chickadees for a commission and did not video it. Would you be interested in a real-time video of humming birds?
@@brendagordon1348 Oh my goodness - I can't believe you got back to me so quickly, not to mention that you are interested in what I am attempting to do. Yes, I would be very interested in real-time videos. My goal is not only learning how to make birds, but how to make them extremely realistic. Your Chickadee is the best I have seen so I am a loyal follower of yours now. I am not into "cutesy" critters or the like. Realistic Birds only. I have the body made for my first Chickadee and getting up the courage to start the wings, cap and other colors. Once I master this, I plan to move onto Nuthatches, Titmouse, Hummingbird, House Sparrow, Blue Jay, and Cardinal. If you could do the Nuthatch I would be so appreciative! Many Thanks in advance! P.S. Keep up using your "Creative Licence" because that definitely added the realism of your bird!!
Could you share any of the following: What size eyes (mm) and size beak (also bought where) did you use for the Chickadee? I cannot find them at Living Felt nor could I find anything "Angora". as you used. And finally, What gauge wire did you use for your chickadees' legs. TY
Very adorable and well done!
Thank you
I have that same kit! Also this is so cute!
How did you make the tail & wings? Plain flat felt - then felted on top? Thanks so much - beautiful work!! :)
