- I watched ANCHORMAN (2004) for the FIRST TIME! 🤣
Movie Summary:
Hotshot television anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) welcomes upstart reporter Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) into the male-dominated world of 1970s broadcast news -- that is, until the talented female journalist begins to outshine Burgundy on air. Soon he grows jealous, begins a bitter feud with Veronica and eventually makes a vulgar slip on live TV that ruins his career. However, when an outrageous story breaks at the San Diego Zoo, Ron may get a chance to redeem himself.

It's not surprising to me being that it premiered 36 years ago lol. I'm 29 and have never seen 1 episode of Seinfeld because I grew up watching shows like Fresh Prince and King of Queens lol.

Cameos Cameos Fact: Seth Rogen, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Danny Trejo, Tim Robbins, Judd Apatow, Luke Wilson, Lili Rose McKay, and director Adam McKay.
Location Location Fact: The zoo scenes were filmed at the old Los Angeles Zoo, which closed in 1965. The remaining buildings are a tourist attraction in Griffith Park.
What Script Fact: Many of the actors and actresses were good at improvisation. They would sometimes do up to 20 different versions of reaction lines, trying out the first thing that popped into their heads.
Music Enthusiast Fact: In the night club, Ron plays jazz flute in the style of Ian Anderson, lead singer and flautist of Jethro Tull. Ron blurts out "Hey Aqualung!" at the end of the song, a lyric from the Jethro Tull song Aquaung (1971). In addition, the riff that he plays on the flute just before he does so is the main riff of the same song. The pose Ron strikes at the end of the song is also a clear imitation of the band's logo of a flautist turned sideways with one leg up. Ironically, Aquaung (1971) does not feature any flute. Will Ferrell has played flute since elementary school.

Christina Applegate, Tiffany Amber Thiessen, Kelly Le Brock, Vanity these are the woman that molded a generation and seeing Christina on that screen when this movie came out had that theater pop like The Rock or Stone Cold entered the arena.
Vince Vaughn was in movies first, I'm especially thinking of Swingers. Will Ferrell was on Saturday Night Live at the time.

As a native San diegan I love this movie. We don’t get enough recognition for being the finest city in america. Even politically we’re pretty half and half which helps us stay pretty neutral even as a liberal I like it.

Jim Carrey has 3 of my top favs with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Truman Show, and Man on the Moon.

I think with humans, they usually will shoot the bears in frame with like a "bear wrangler" on set. But because it was a dog, they probably filmed the bear separately and stuck it on the footage. Like the dogs trainer could ahve been standing where the bear was, giving it commands to bark. Then they stuck footage of a bear doing that over where the trainer was standing.
