The conversation between Baxter and the bears is subtitled in some versions. The conversion follows, Baxter: Leave these people alone. They mean you no harm. Bear: We Bears are a proud race. They must pay for their intrusion. Baxter: On my journey I met one of your kind. His name was Katow-jo. We became friends. Bear: Katow-jo is my cousin. Go in peace. Baxter: I will tell tales of your compassion. Bear: Fare thee well, Baxter. You shall always be friend of the bears. Apparently he went through a proper journey there :D
@@RamblersInc I'm pretty sure it happens when you have the subtitles on. I've had this happen with other films. If I have the subtitles turned on, parts where it is subitled in the film don't appear.
I can't believe a lot of streaming services do this when subtitles are important to the story. Seen this happen on many reactions. Continued downward spiral in content quality.
This film was lightning in a bottle. When it first came out this film was my mantra (I wanted to be Brian Fontana, 60% of the time working everytime) On my 39th birthday I found myself almost alone in an afternoon matinee laughing out loud to its lesser sequel. That was 10 years ago to the day. And I’m still classy 💪. I might just get drunk and sing some Afternoon Delight like at my mates stag weekend in Leeds years ago. Milk was a bad choice….. 24:43 yes!!! You recognised the gif. I’m so proud of you fellas
🤣🤣🤣 Now we have to watch the sequel. I need to incorporate " I love Scotch. Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch. Here it goes down, down in my belly !" 🎶 in my life.
Genuinely one of the most quotable comedies of all-time. Also, if you want to know just how insane this movie could have been, the original script was about a plane full of news reporters crashing with a plane full of monkeys and martial arts weapons, so it was going to be the news team trying to fend off monkeys with throwing stars while they're stranded and trying to survive. Not a joke. Paul Rudd confirmed it on Hot Ones.
This was actually filmed twice. Once with the straight script, then once where they could say whatever they wanted. They used whichever takes were funnier.
This movie is full of 70's American pop culture references. For example the Dog's name, "Baxter" was a reference to a fictional incompetent, vain TV anchor, Ted Baxter(a character similar to Ron) from the Mary Tyler Moore show, a 70's sitcom.
@@RamblersInc Quite. He used to be very funny. He was a cast member on Mr.Show With Bob & David (Bob Odenkirk, David Cross) along with Jack Black. And Jack Back and Bob Odenkirk go back farther to The Ben Stiller Show.
If you like this, you should see his spoof of the Crocodile Hunter on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on 8 February 2016, as the Exotic Animal Expert…
@@RamblersInc It’s a special movie. The director is know gigantic but back then he was making these great little special style movies. Finding Neverland starring Johnny Depp was one.

Oh you're a legend. Thanks for this.
I can't believe we watched the one that didn't contain it. This would have made it hell of a lot more funnier.🤣

@@RamblersIncit's weird, I've never seen one without those subs. But I watch everything with all subs on so maybe it was part of the wider subtitling

Ok....now I want to see THAT movie
Brick is the funniest part of this movie to me. He always makes me laugh ^__^
Same 😂

All the takes where they went full improv would have been hilarious 😂
@@RamblersIncThey made another movie out of it. Same story but different zingers. It wasn’t great.

I REALLY LIK EDDD THE RACTIOOON! ..Sincerely, Brick. 😂❤
🤣
This is a great movie. So quotable.
And the wise men don't know how it fee-ee-ee-eels, to be thick...as a brick (Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick)
🤣
I love this movie
You can make a meme of any scene of this movie.... so great.

That's a nose dive for his career then 😂

Holds up a guinea pig...."This is a Mongolian Bush Tiger !" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The sequel isn’t great. See Will Ferrell do real acting in Stranger Than Fiction.
We'll add it to our watchlist 👍
