I picked up a TuffSew 9" zigzag used earlier this year off facebook market place for 250. I was hoping to find a used sailrite but none seem to be around. All Sailrite stuff works with the TuffSew. I upgrade my machine with the WorkerB motor. I printed the stitch length switch plate from thingiverse. I added a light inside over the foot. I threaded the holes so I could add the swing away binding attachment. It also seemed to be missing a spring for the stitch length lever so I popped a spring back in there so the lever would bounce back to the up position. I was one of those people who had only a couple of projects in mind. I figured if I found myself using it more than I thought I could upgrade later to a real sailrite. At this point though the machine works really well. I am very pleased with what I got. The last thing I might do is put it into some kind of table but I really like that I can pack it away when I won't be using it. To call it portable.. is a bit of a stretch. It is super heavy and current lives on my kitchen table. It is a pill to pick up and put away. Your video was lovely.
Thank you. Sounds like you went all the way. I only have the smaller 7 inch, but If I was going to do it over again, I would go your route. Thank you for sharing your experience and glad that you enjoyed the video.
Subbed I just picked up a Singer 111g 56 and a Rex 607 just to start a hobby shop mostly duffel bags, rucksack, tarps, tackle bags and gun cases ect. Something I can still do well into my 80s if my memory stays healthy At 61 carpentry just isn't fun anymore
This is a domestic machine with some bells added. The real question, what’s beefed up inside? Leather on the Kenmore these look like will wreck the timing. I just want to know the differences…

Does the 111G156 have the external puller system? The Rex 607 is exactly like my Tuff Sew. The 111G156 is an unusual and semi rear machine.
Thank you, that was really useful info
Great Vid! You make a lot of sense!! Thank you!
wonderful machine
You are definitely skilled at what you do. I'm still glad I bought the sailrite instead of a cheap knockoff
they do a 9inch version of the walking foot is that the same size as a vintage industrail 31k singer
Hi what is the price on a leather walking foot machine
Is your forward and reverse max stitch length equal? Mine is not.
How thick of leather can it sew?
