I like the portability, I like the huge bobbin, the huge wheel to crank, but consider it highly irritating, that you need an additional drill to wind the bobbin. A machine in this price range should offer an opportunity to wind the bobbin with the machine itself. I will stick to my 100 year old Adler 30-7 which indeed is not portable at all and the bobbin is smaller, but she is a brilliant tank of a machine. Good luck to your company, regards from Germany, Europe.

I just started in leather crafting and your videos are a great source of knowledge and inspiration! Have you thought about doing a series on armor? The suit you've shown before is spectacular, would love to see something like that being built, or insights on how to design a set. Cheers!
Very good job on the video! I have a question, I was watching another review on the same machine and the guy looked like he was struggling to turn the hand crank when he was sewing. Could he have had the tension to tight? I’m wanting to buy one but after watching him I don’t want to have to struggle like he was.
I bought a Tippman Boss from my local Tandy store about four years ago. I had nothing but problems with it. The store didn’t help me much, and Tippman tried to diagnose it over the phone & sent me some parts to replace. I thought I had it going when the bobbing failed to catch the thread, and really screwed up my project. I became gun shy about using it, and didn’t want to ruin any projects, so I am still hand sewing everything I make, and the Boss just takes up bench space gathering dust. I would really like to get a machine to sew with, maybe electric, but cost is too high. This looks simple, but again I’m pretty gun shy about screwing something up...:(
Just want yo explain something for the "its so expendive group"...I just started looking for a machine about two weeks ago so prior to that i was right there with you...after hours of research what i've found is that if youvwant a triple feed cylinder arm machine (no not the chinese shoe patcher it is a single needle feed) its going to be wayyy highervthan this .. what makes them expensive is the mechanics indide the machine not the fact thst they're electric...this machine has the same mechanics....the servo motors those nachines run off of can be found for under 200 dollars...so subtract the motor for a 3000 electric mschine and uts still 2800 dollars...full disclaimer the cub is still outside my pricerange but its definitely worth the cost.
They need to clarify this on their video, not doing so Is terrible for their sales. If I had know what you just said I would buy one, being a good deal
Is the stitch length knob a positive click or is it by guess and by god on a piece of scrap to figure out your stitch length? Any one who point out the Tippman Boss as a better value option has obviously never used one. They are junk, unless you need a boat anchor.
It looks like the same guess-your-stitch as the Tippman.. In fact the bobbin, and shuttle looks to be exactly the same set of parts as the Tippman.. This machine looks to be the same type of needle-fed drive as the Tippman, just built with a much better casting, a much simplified mechanism with a flywheel instead of a pull handle.. Not worth $1650 though, as an entry-level industrial can be had for about $500 new or even cheaper used (I would suggest going up a tier and getting one with a servomotor instead of the typical universal motor though). A Tippman is not the greatest machine, but with a bit of tuning, is not that bad either.. I have 5 machines in my shop, two of them are industrial machines including an ancient Puritan that is actually rated to stitch over an inch and a quarter of leather and also things like up to 1/8" aluminum, but I also have a Tippman and one of those Chinese patchers that you can get for just over $100, and again, with some cleaning, polishing and tuning, these lower end machines work just fine and I still use them a lot for quick repairs and small projects where the manual stitch action is just easier and more precise, or where the free arm allows you to get the part in close and do some stitching repairs in-place and not have to disassemble the item first..
It is a guess. It is a tension screw so it increases or decreases based on how many turns not where on the dial. I have run through the range on the screw to get an idea of where the lengths are, but you will still need to test on scrap to be sure. I’m creating a turn to length guide to help me.
Someone really needs to find a more affordable sewing machine. I have over a thousand dollars in tools that I have bought in the last 20 years, but I have basically stopped doing any projects that require sewing just simply because I don't have the time to do it by hand and I can't afford nor justify spending that much money on a machine. If I could find an affordable sewing machine, I would buy a lot more leather. I have a laundry list of repairs I need to do and things I want to make.
Look at the shoe patching or cobbler machines that are hand cranked. The are between $95 - $149, depending on Amazon or eBay sellers. Needs some assembly and small learning curve, but there are dozens of videos on them. I have one & enjoy it. Check out *Mainley Acres* and his RUclips channel.
SEWING, IN GENERAL, NEEDS TO GET LETS COMPLICATED OR RE-ENGINEERED BY AN INVENTOR. I WOULD LIKE TO REMOVE THREADING AND BOBBINS; YET, MAINTAIN A RELIABLY SIMPLE METHOD OF MENDING OR ATTACHING FABRICS OR FIBERS. 🤓🤔
Used machines are perfect, I feel you though. I hate hand stitching despite it being easy. But as a hobbyist who has the money required to get a good machine? Ive seen some at good will, and savers but rarely in useable condition
Im sure this isn't cheap (most of the Master Tools aren't) but when i get to the point in leather crafting that I can justify the purchase il be getting one.
They are adding sewing machine motors on them that are insane, good control you can go in slow mode and fast I wonder over time will it damage the machine, keep it lube well?
Hey Chuck....being my go to resource for all things leather, is it possible for you to make a video about installing an invisible magnetic closure in a lined project? Beautiful little machine. I am really thinking about getting one and have it in my basket as we speak. Looking past the negative responses, it seems to be an 'on line' phenom now days. Sad the way some just hang out on a post to fill their empty time??? A unique idea, spend some time playing with the machine as a stitch 'hole puncher' to work your way into machine sewing. I know it is early for my question BUT have any accessories been considered yet?
I was thinking about buying leather and other original style materials to redo my classic jaguar. With me doing the labor, I could save about 50%. Then I came to this site and heard the absurd price for even a hand operated machine ( which requires one hand off the material). Time to reconsider, especially for a one-time project. Thanks for the eye-opening info.
Hello there, I bought this Cub Sewing Machine recently, made a few stitches, to adjust it. Then the thread got tangled, I loosened two screws and pulled it out. Then the machine sewed a few more stitches and the machine stopped picking up the bobbin thread. When the shuttle cover is open, you can see that the needle feeds the thread forward towards the hook, then there is a click, the needle with the thread goes up and the shuttle hook does not have time to grab the upper thread near the needle. Who can help? Thanks in advance.

this looks sound. I tried to visit your website but had no luck, doesn't seem to work for me!
I would like to know when you will have one
Hi, I would like to buy the machine, what can I do??, I'm frrom Cusco, Perú...
Nice how much
How can I see it to buy
Hello there, I bought this Cub Sewing Machine recently, made a few stitches, to adjust it. Then the thread got tangled, I loosened two screws and pulled it out.
Then the machine sewed a few more stitches and the machine stopped picking up the bobbin thread. When the shuttle cover is open, you can see that the needle feeds the thread forward towards the hook, then there is a click, the needle with the thread goes up and the shuttle hook does not have time to grab the upper thread near the needle.
Who can help?
Thanks in advance.
thank you very good instructor
Hello Chuck. I own a Weaver Cub. Question: what kind of grease is recommended for the Cub? Thanks!!
Hi there,
An all purpose machine grease is recommended for the Cub, something like this: www.harborfreight.com/14-oz-sta-plex-extreme-pressure-premium-red-grease-40710.html
Now I just need another stimulus check.
Ya 2 grand ill stick to hand sewing thank you very much.
@@garetkonigsfeld2I used that check on dogicon and lost everything..... when I sold I took the loss and bought platinum metal, only to have it tank 😢
Then I bought palidium and it taken even more.
Now I'm at $200 from my starting $2,000 lol
..... I should have bought the master tool!!!!! Dam it. At least if your going to waste your money, waste it on something pretty that can make money and hold its value.
Where to buy this machine and how much is it ??
Here's a question for you can that machine use artificial sinew to sew with
Love how detailed the video is. I am new to sewing and looking for a sewing machine and enjoyed learning about this one.
Try the Chinese shoe patch machine.
What's the price? Need info , I need one.
Total bobbin envy!
Another fantastic piece of kit. I'd love to be able to afford one of these in my shop to go along with my Mighty Wonder 4-ton clicker press. It would certainly make my life easier and I know that my fingertips would love a break from handstitching.
多少价钱,那里有卖

How is it on goat hide leather for making coats?
As long as the leather is at least 1/8" thick or heavier it should work. You will need to play with the tension a little bit but once you have that set, you should be good.

I purchased the 'OUTLAW' leather sewing machine.
Gee, that looks expensive!
@@joshable337 the OUTLAW is I believe around $1250 or $1295.
I liked everything I seen about the machine. Wish you would of talked about the cost every time I watch things like this and the cost is left out There is always a catch and it is usually the end price
And 2,000 bucks is unjustified being as it's hand crank. The tippman boss machines are 1200 and are Manuel aswell. Although I do like the look of this one better.
@@justenhearn5179the look is beautiful, $2k idk. I'll have to get drunk to buy it, but ahhh I can see passing it down to my kids
