I've been a Golf GTi guy for many years, and decided to go with this 128ti for a change, and boy am I NOT disappointed. It feels like it hugs the road much better than the Golf and the tech is amazing. My only complaint... there's no sunglasses holder lol But I can live with that.
Having driven both for considerable times I totally agree with this specific comparison, the 135i is still a lovely car possibly more of a luxury high performance cruiser. The 128ti is a little more engaging to drive with beautifully set up suspension (firm but oh so well damped), another surprising fact is that when your taking it steady it is very very good to the gallon. Not so sure about anyone sitting against the bonnet of such a nice car though.
Matt & Jack. Fan...tas,,tic! Yes the 128 ti does indeed 'nail it'. A serious Golf GTi rival in ever sense. With a quality interior the Mk 8 Golf struggles to come close. If i was ever lucky enough to spec a 128 ti, would 'de-red' and go stealth. Who said BMW could not do FWD? It was obvious you both enjoyed driving 'this baby' and indeed, Matt your 'baby' 135 M even has a more pure rival. As always brilliant review and content. The graphics over lay is genius! Excellent. Stay safe, Guys. Thank you both.
I have had my 128ti for a couple of weeks, i originally looked at the 135 but with the tech i wanted it exceeded the 40k luxury tax bracket. Over 4 years that equates to a big cost difference. Coming from a TTS i am so pleased , the low down power is so much fun.
Best review video I've seen on the 128ti. As someone who was torn between the M135i and the 128ti this video made me very happy. My 128ti actually arrives tomorrow. Thanks for the review gents. Subscribed and I look forward to watching future uploads
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy you are enjoyed the video, brilliant! You won't be disappointed, what colour have you gone for? Thanks, Matt.
@@SytnerTV I went for the metallic black. It got delivered earlier today. It looks and drives fantastic. Your video is the truest representation of what the car is like. Keep up the good work
It was great for the 3 years that I had it, zero complaints whatsoever. I had my M135i delivered a few months back and much prefer the M135i, though. Mainly because of the X-Drive which makes it drive like the car is on rails. 128ti was amazing, but once you’ve driven an M135i you’ll notice that there’s understeer in a 128ti. More crackles and pops in the M135i too, but much more thirsty!
I have orders the 128ti, coming from a Golf R wanted to move a way from 4wd which is very capable but can get boring very quickly, lease figures from Arnold Clark were very good
@@stuartrutland9648 I discovered the pistonheads lease deal thread a bit late, so when speaking to AC they said price had gone up a little. I ordered the Black with red inserts, Tech pack on 18inch wheels. 3+35 deal (8k a year) £298 a month
Good but not as good as the 135i. Less is always less. More is better. If u drive the 135i before this car u will feel short changed on this model. But yes it is a fun Boy/ Girl racers car and has captured a gap in the market for BMW. But u can't beat the Buzz of the 135i power and grip on the country roads.
Great review. I'm on the verge of ordering one of these. I'll be getting mine with the 18" alloys. Do you think this will make a big difference to the ride comfort & can this car be a daily driver?
I'd always feel short changed, my dealer tried to get me to order one but, not interested. I'll swallow the extra tax cost on cars over 40k and option my m135i to the perfect car for me. Magma leather, pan roof, black paint 19" wheels, tech pack and pro pack. For me this is like xr3i or rs turbo....everyone goes rs
The world hasn't changed. People are still outraged by the FWD cars. Axel tramp? Jesus, what rubbish are you talking about? it's the worst feeling ever.
What do you expect from a TV channel that's was set up to support and promote BMW car sales. Don't expect anything negative or constructive criticism. They simply love all about the cars, everything is phenomenal, really nice, lovely etc. :D
It’s a shame the exterior and the dashboard/infotainment look so ugly or I could have been tempted, but BMW have been hit with the ugly brush across all their ranges, maybe they think ugly is cool 😎 great video btw very well done 👍

The storm bay grey colour is 🔥🔥 I like the look of the 19' bicolour alloys on the m sport 1 series cars

What’s your average mpg in it and are you using super unleaded or just normal?

Hi there..i love my 128ti..same colour storm bay..but a 22 plate
Great review I have a white 128ti on order
Looks really similar to the 135i, I think it looks like a great little car. But I will keep my 135i lol... for the extra power.

So will i 😅

I think it is a brilliant daily driver, you will enjoy every second with it.
