I have this great 128ti since 2 Years, I'm absolute happy and satisfied with this BMW....! Great Performance on every Road ! ...Best wishes from Hamburg Hamburg
@@MsDeathangel956 I’m absolutely mad about cars!! But this will still slide and day to day, with the slip diff it makes little difference to me. Think it’s far more engaging than the m135i
@@AlpineGABE oh and I didn't mean you, I mean in general. But yes, coming from a small SUV and driving this hot hatch, I love it! If I don't drive it on the weekend, even to the shops, I feel like I'm missing something hahaha only other thing is the m240i and potentially M2 has caught my attention! 😂
I like everything but the automatic (which I am sure is absolutely brilliant) since I prefer manual, and I feel that the front bumper/grill/headlight setup all looks “too big” for the rest of the car, if that makes sense. If I could get over the front end view and driving an auto then I may bite. That said, I LOVE my 7.5 GTI, but a lot of that is due to work I’ve done on it. I can’t stand the Mk8 though. The only way I’d take one is in R trim, and I’d hate the interior setup lol
Looked so bumpy down those back roads where the tarmac road surface was naf, think it would be un-comfortable as a daily due to the suspension being too hard and no option for adaptive dampers that you can have on the golf, yes if does cost extra on the golf.
It’s the 1-Series sweet spot. A better car than the M135. If only they’d offered a manual. But this over a Mk8 GTI and its terrible UI and cheap and cynical cost cutting? Absolutely.
They tested this in Australia on a group track test identical conditions to a mk8 gti with the same race car driver behind the wheel. They found it to be WAY slower. Which was very surprising given on paper it seems like it would be as fast or quicker.
@@AlpineGABE yes it’s 15 kw down but you have to keep in mind the main thing they complained about was the cornering speeds being inferior to the other cars in the comparison. Not to mention the Australian mk8 gti actually has the same output as the detuned 128ti.
I don't like this car personally. I have an 125i LCI from 2016 which looks nicer, has no fake vents and real front grills, less restrictions, and most importantly it's rear while drive so you can have so much more fun with it.. Really disappointed that BMW discontinued the RWD 1-series
Considering BMW have stated they will continue to produce and research ICE cars, not producing a manual variant of this car doesn't really explain their philosophy lol. Mix match signals. The Golf is probably more practical, more comfortable & better equipped.
@@gianni_schicchi but that sorta defeats the idea of going against the GTI. BMW have stated their still investing & researching ICE cars. But not a manual transmission for a car put up against the GTI.
People who ordered over a year ago are only now starting to get their cars through.. Plus there’s a LCI coming, which will hopefully sort those nostrils 🐽
EV adoption is accelerating every year. Exponential not linear. The only limiting factor is batteries. The number of electric vehicles and types of vehicles and trucks is growing. Many people are holding off buying a new car or scooter until the electric vehicle they want becomes available. Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs and amazing technology. Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. So last century. Electric cars, electric trucks, electric buses, electric trash haulers, electric snow blowers, electric lawn mowers, electric weed whackers, electric hedge trimmers, electric snow mobiles, electric water craft, electric garden tools, electric mechanic tools, electric motor cycles, electric bicycles, electric scooters, electric farm tractors, electric construction equipment, electric delivery vehicles, ...... everything is going electric. No worries about starting after sitting for a few months. Gas always needs repairs. If you care about the future for your children care about climate change
The limiting factor is going to keep me away from electric cars for at least ten yrs. if the car cannot do at least 80-90% of my petrol then it’s not worth it for me. Too many negatives.
I drive an 128ti as a daily! I love this car, and it’s absolutely a toy to drive!
Did you mean a joy to drive?

BMW needs to bring this to the states
Wish we had this in the US. You guys in EU are lucky.
As a Golf owner, this BMW kills the GTI on styling. Miles ahead. The MK8 interior is a cheap and nasty mess.
Nice review, good production quality. Why is there such low views tho
Thanks! I used to run a RUclips channel that recently closed down, so I started CarScore to keep things going. Plenty more videos to come.
This bmw isnt fwd because it's targeting golf 8 but the whole new 1 series was designed on a new fwd plateforme to reduce cost
Have done about 1000 miles in this car, and honestly - you can hardly notice the FWD as a daily
Tbh, if you're not a car enthusiast, alot of people wouldn't know their car is or was a FWD haha

Tempted to look at this second hand. Cheaper to run then an M car or AWD model, but still fun and sporty.

1:11 Is it just me or did the car just squish a bit there 🤔

Golf gti has been terrible since they replaced the mk5.
Can you now get your hands on a 2022 BMW M135i F40 please
Will do my best Peter! - Cam
The actual driving starts at around 8 mins if you want to get to the meat.
No links when you mention them?!
Is this really cost like golf gti?
Suscribed , I love your energy , keep it up !

The car is detuned far below the EU/US spec in the Aus market due to their laws

These are not track cars ; no one driving every day starts the stopwatch ;)
It also had crap tires fitted 😂
Red stripe looks good
Interior is nice but the looks, especially the front grill is unforgivable it’s hideous.
My next car 😊, because for the money, I don't think you can do better in its class.
My TCR is 290 bhp.

Too boy racer...different buyer to a GTI
Too much reds makes it kitsch a lot😤

They probably don't want to spend the cost on a one-off transmission for their limited FWD models.

New Auto boxes are more efficient and gear changes are 3-4 times quicker than a manual. It’s down to emissions basically.
Don’t like this car at all much prefare the Hyundai i20N or the Focus ST
We'll have a review of the i20N up in the near future. Very different character to the 128ti. - Cam
Really over bmw wow .I drive this car at low raves at peace am offffffffffff. only if u no
Bmw beat VW at their own game.
Hope MK 8.5 GTi will be better
Bmw over Vw everyday
The grille is too big for this car, makes it look weird/ugly.
I wonder if the background music serve any purpose, apart from annoying
People who ordered over a year ago are only now starting to get their cars through.. Plus there’s a LCI coming, which will hopefully sort those nostrils 🐽
Just buy the I30 N and save the rest of the money for gas and mountain roads.
p.s. Kona N will beat this glossy junk
Very, very different cars. We've got a Kona N review coming up, so stay tuned - Cam
I watched 18 seconds. If a hatchback ain’t awd I don’t want it.
Why not watch the rest to see why it's an awesome FWD car?! - Cam
Its ugly asf though
If you think this is ugly, don’t even go near a MK8 Golf
can you lower down that shitty video game music
