This video on glucose spikes by the "Glucose Goddess" is incredibly eye-opening! I never realized how much our daily food choices-like oats, fruits, and even "healthy" options like honey-can lead to glucose spikes, affecting everything from aging to mental clarity and even fertility. Thanks for sharing this valuable info-it's a game-changer for health-conscious people!

My dentist told me to stop eating lemons and apple cider vinegar even with salad because the enamel is beginning to wear off my teeth. Six months after his advice I have arthritic like pains in my right shoulder and left thumb. I'm 74 and never had aches before.
maybe you developed it now, not before you gave up ACV. Healthy 74? There is no info relating ACV and arthritis that I've seen. It's just acetic acid, which is what is taking people's enamel off their teeth. If it's the clear ACV then it's useless.
Thank you for sharing this invaluable video! I have to change how and when I eat Oats ... usually at night (stopping that). I would add dehydrated raisins, cranberries, blue berries, pineapple, peaches - sometimes, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and pour boiling water to cook it in a small bowl, with a dash of aromatic bitters. I drink warm Lemon water first thing in the morning. I eat lots of fresh veggies, three times daily, especially Lettuce, Carrots, Cucumbers and Tomatoes. For breakfast, I add it to two slices of whole wheat bread with, sometimes, a boiled egg or low cholesterol butter for breakfast. Now, I know that I need to eat the fresh veggies before the starch.
I fermented my oats in yoghurt for 24 hours. It does not spike my sugar and the oats helps lowering cholesterol. I also add some spices to it such as cinnamon, paprika, ginger powder, garlic granules, cloves and nutmeg. Add berries to it and it's a powerhouse start.
Thank you for your comment. It’s so refreshing to read someone who has been proactive. You have invented Bircher muesli with less added carbs, usually can have grated apple and apple juice. I don’t add apple juice to mine and reduce the grated apples. Berries are a marvellous idea. 👍
This is what I have learned since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes two weeks ago. It isn't the amount of sugar you eat in a day that is the sole culprit here. It is the amount of sugar in a very short period of time. For example eating a chocolate bar twice a week is fine but eating that same chocolate bar twice one after another in a single sitting is harmful. Also eating and drinking stuff with sugar in it on an empty stomach is far worse than eating that same stuff when you have had fibre. It is the fibre that acts like a filter slowing down and dispersing the sugar evenly flattening the spike as the sugar is introduced into the blood stream. I have started to weight my meals heavily towards meat. I always try to have a vegetable base in the meal that I ALWAYS eat first. This is important the veg first. I also completely stopped the biscuits and sugar in coffee. I drink more tea and water. I limit milk to a pint a day or less. Sometime none. On the weekend I allow myself a treat.
Thank you so much for your advice on how to eat your food properly, so it doesn’t spike your glucose levels in your body and cause all these problems. You have no idea how much I appreciate I have learned from this video. I thought I was eating healthy I just didn’t grow my food appropriately.❤ one question can you eat freeze dried fruit in place of fresh fruit? And is it the same as eating fresh fruit?
I pray to God that everyone who is reading this gets better and stays healthy. What helped me is using the herbs from the book the hidden herbs by anette ray
Changing your diet alone is not the answer. The actual cause of many of these diseases is stress. That's why people who have healthy diets, exercise etc still get diabetes, auto immune diseases. Dr Gabor Mate has videos explaining this
So what about the the thumbnail ? Add this to your cup of water. What it is that you should add to your cup of water? No mention in this video. Can anybody tell me please what it is ?
Vinegar. Adding a tablespoon of vinegar to a glass of water and drink before the meal. In fact, it is vinegar added to the meal, like a salad , that has a small reduction of the meal GI. If you are eating low GI foods, it won’t make that much difference. This video has a lot of misinformation about diabetes and its management.
I can tell u that this is not always the case. I know a person who quit sugar for 14 years, consumes less oil , exercises regularly 10000steps perday, yet is suffering . All these sufferings are outcome of inflammation which can be caused even without sugar.
It’s full of misinformation. I can’t believe that people follow this sad excuse for information. Sugar doesn’t causes diabetes. Diabetes is caused by insulin resistance which is caused by obesity. Sad 😢
For muscle building you need glucose spikes two times a day 😊 By the way you can not build muscles without insulin 😊 Insulin can store fat and it burn fat ❤
Your right. Dried fruit has only water removed. The prob with dried fruit is the amount eaten. You’re looking at ~30g or an oz being equivalent to a fruit serve. Adults can usually have we serve of fruit a day. Excess fruit serve can led to weight gain, and in diabetes, poor blood glucose control. Some of her info is very wrong. At least she is rich now
@@bramblebop1904 You previous said that dried fruit is just fruit without water. You can’t create extra sugar from nothing. Doesn’t that make sense? It is an apricot without the water. If you can eat 2-3 fresh apricots, isn’t 2-3 dried apricots the same, except it has the water removed. You need to brush your teeth twice a day. Any carb in your mouth is food for bacteria. Where is your logic? You can’t think for yourselves? Where has your country got to?
Whether you eat broccoli and pasta together your sugar will go up. Every thing she reads from other drs, she spews this out. Nothing she says works for this diabetic for over 20 years. 110 lbs not overweight. She just repeats every thing she hears. Somd goddess
Do you want to look young like me, just eat all the organic foods, you can eat as many fruits as you like, God created all fruits, veggies, and nuts I don't have to listen to any one I know the best food for my body, this woman not mention any anything about organic and free range food, it's so unhealthy those food because it's been spraying and put chemicals in the soil, in Samoa we don't spraying our food, every food are organic and free range food, God knows better food for our body then any human beings, I am 69 years but I look like 45 years old, people said that and they asked my died, I eat a lot of oaks organic and make my porridge, I don't believe this woman said about fruits and honey that's bs and false informations, I don't have any high blood pressure, or too much sugar in my blood, we eat raw honey everyday for my organic coffee and I put tea spoon in my smoothie in the morning and I don't have any complicated health issue, it's like she telling everyone not to eat organic bananas, mangoes, pineapple, orange, pawpaws etc etc lots of vitamins natural sugar from the fruits, God knows better food then any fake information from her and other so called expert, my grandparents and my parents lives from 95 to 106 years old, we eat all these fruits everyday and full of fiber, pawpaws and mangoes is the best fruits to eat when you are constabation, but we don't have that problem in Samoa because we eat all those food full of fiber , take my advice not to listen to this woman, eat less red meat and no dairys we never had milk we drink a lot of coconut sweet juice from the trees, and none of my families have any diabetes or high blood pressure. enjoy your organic 🍓🍓🍑 it's good for your body.
It's about the someone woke up.. Good for you! She's not an authority and her views are flawed. We all have different needs. One day she says the honey we eat is fake, yet mentions honey in this video. I've known about the honey problem for a while, it's not the same honey we had as kids. She Contradicts herself way too much while most people are commenting on her looks. She's just a woman and her looks sell.. She's monitizing that's her goal with some BS advice my 10 is year old knows without her nonsense.
I can eat cranberries, blueberries, raspberries/blackberries (although I really dislike them) without a big blood sugar spike.... a small apple... a small pear... not much else.
Up until a couple of years ago, for a long time I’d been eating oat flakes with oat milk for breakfast. It was tasty and filling and I’d been led to believe that oats were healthy and good for the heart, it even said so on the cereal box; this is referred to as health washing (oat milk is particularly bad because it’s blended with seed oil to create the smooth texture). After some time I noticed that I wasn’t feeling great, my skin was terrible and my weight had increased to the point I was in the obese category. As well as breakfast, my diet was generally sub-optimal so I began to investigate further and discovered many of the issues and solutions covered in this video. Applying these solutions made a massive difference; my weight is in the ideal range now and my skin is vastly improved. I can thoroughly recommend following the principles mentioned here.
Oat milk? I still don't understand why people prefer this to cow's milk (as long as they aren't lactose intolerant or have milk allergy). I found your comment interesting because I found most of the information to be misleading. True oats (steel cut or rolled) still can make a very filling breakfast and are low GI. Apart from changing your breakfast, no other information here would be significant enough to make you get the weight off. This video is more to do with helping people to attain better diabetes control than weight reduction. I find that baffling. Maybe you could explain this?
@@luisv007 I think that oat milk is promoted as a healthier alternative to cows milk and I fell into this trap, rather than it being a preference either way. The oat flakes I also ate for breakfast were essentially ultra-processed food so, combined with oat milk, it was not an ideal way for me to start the day from a diet point of view. This was just part of a wider realisation that much of my diet, and the impact of sugars, starches, alcohol and refined carbs generally were the cause of my metabolic health issues. As I mentioned in my earlier comment, my diet was generally sub-optimal. So, as I researched the effects of this, I began to understand the impact on the liver (I had been diagnosed with fatty liver), the mechanisms that caused this, inflammation and insulin resistance etc. and this caused me to completely to change my diet to avoid carbs as much as possible or use the food sequencing or combining techniques referred to in this video. That, along with eating more fibre-rich whole foods was the reason for the weight reduction. I was approaching this from a point of view improving metabolic health rather than just diabetes control as I didn't believe that was factor for me. However, had I continued eating the way I had been, then pre-diabetes followed by type 2 diabetes would have been highly probable. I think the content of this video is helpful for everyone concerned about diet quality and it has wider implications than just diabetes control. I hope this clarifies my views.
@@HarryR1 Thanks for your reply. I think that people see these alternative milks as a blessing, but they’re not a natural product. With regards to the oat flakes, it is difficult to comment on because I haven’t seen the ingredients and nutrition panel. Being diagnosed with fatty liver is a combination of your weight and your insulin resistance, as you had prediabetes. Carbs, particularly sugar, and alcohol don’t help that. Your diet was the cause of your metabolic problems and getting the weight off is primary in the reduction of insulin resistance and catabolism of fat in your fatty liver. A high fibre diet helps with your blood glucose control and with weight reduction. A spoke about the misinformation in the video. Usually when you eat foods high in fibre, you are also getting better types of carbs. Fibre and carbs go together in foods. Only human refinement of carbs leads to the loss of fibre. You should be very proud of yourself to get to where you are. You did all the hard work. As a nutrition professional it is always good to see people take the initiative for change. Even though the information that she presents is not always right, it makes changes that are helpful. She has a background in biochemistry. I also have that background but I also have pure chemistry, food chemistry and nutrition. Her knowledge of reading food labels and composition of food is poor. In another video, where she shares her approval and disapproval of food products, but her reasoning is misleading. Weight resistance training, like picking up packets of food, is very helpful in improving insulin sensitivity. Thanks and Good luck.
She just said they're lieing to us about honey which is true yet mentioned it in this video. I'm so sick of her Contradicting BS. She is not an authority on nutrition, we all have different needs. And her self proclaimed title glucose goddess is efing ridiculous. She's no goddess just a RUclipsr making $
Nah... dont eat breakfast. Twice a day meal is sufficient. Whats the point of eating if your not enjoying it. Lets face it. Vegetables isnt really savory. Duh. Who have time to look for all this foods? They look like rich people food to me. Go keto.. do plenty of exercise. Ps: funny this people always say eat this, eat that but nobody ever says stop eating. Because people nowadays always over eat. 2 meals a day and fasting 1 day a week works wonders in your body.. and your wallet.
@daysoftheboo thats very wise of you. we should totally take your approach, and you are already doing what the Glucose Goddess is teaching us through her research!
@@healthlonglifetake what you learn with a grain of salt. Everyone has different needs and conditions. She's not the all mighty authority on nutrition. Do you have a brain of your own? You need to try different things to see what works for you and what doesn't. It's pure common sense. I have nothing against this woman you all call glucose goddess, I won't even comment on that name she made up for herself. Goddess? I don't think so! And you saying "we must" is pure nonsense. Humanity is like sheep led to the slaughter. You have to be pointed in the right direction without using your own brains. People wake up and take action. You can use her info but again not from A to Z.. Some variations are necessary.
So true. I only do a teaspoon or half in plenty of water. I have a sip before the meal and drink the rest immediately after. About a year ago I tried the Tbsp before meals and my tummy was on fire.
You’re absolutely right! Oats have a low glycemic index (GI) and are rich in fiber, making them a great option for people with diabetes. The low GI means they cause a slower, more gradual rise in blood sugar levels, which is beneficial for managing diabetes. Including oats in a balanced diet can provide sustained energy and help with overall blood sugar management.
The best way to find out is wear CGM and measure the response. I used to eat oats everyday for 8 years for breakfast and thinking like u that it’s a heart healthy food, it came out to be garbage for my body once I measured my blood glucose levels through a CGM and now I’m pre diabetic and follow the eating guidelines as per this video which has also shared by many others in this space

For breakfast, I add it to two slices of whole wheat bread with, sometimes, a boiled egg or low cholesterol butter for breakfast. Now, I know that I need to eat the fresh veggies before the starch.
love your information, I now truly understand how to stay health thanks to you.P.S. I love your book.

Great information!!
Thank you so much,

Changing your diet alone is not the answer. The actual cause of many of these diseases is stress. That's why people who have healthy diets, exercise etc still get diabetes, auto immune diseases. Dr Gabor Mate has videos explaining this
Thanks a lot for your tips and reminders.

Green Bananas cause lower glucose spikes although not as sweet but still delicious.
Oats can irritate some sensitive tummys . Especially overnight oats.
Thats what they’re saying, one cup of poor quality oats?
So what about the the thumbnail ? Add this to your cup of water. What it is that you should add to your cup of water? No mention in this video. Can anybody tell me please what it is ?
Vinegar. Adding a tablespoon of vinegar to a glass of water and drink before the meal. In fact, it is vinegar added to the meal, like a salad , that has a small reduction of the meal GI. If you are eating low GI foods, it won’t make that much difference. This video has a lot of misinformation about diabetes and its management.
How about coffee without sugar after fasting 18 hours?
could work, but wouldnt drinking warm water better? ease into the day?
I can tell u that this is not always the case. I know a person who quit sugar for 14 years, consumes less oil , exercises regularly 10000steps perday, yet is suffering . All these sufferings are outcome of inflammation which can be caused even without sugar.
Would be interested in knowing - what if anything is helping with inflammation.
Add tumeric to your diet… I have been taking capsules for inflammation…..feel much better
So many opinions on this. Eat protein first to slow down glucose for what follows it. Now it's veggies first.
Obesity is main cause of type two diabetes. And sugar and junk food main cause of obesity. Its not complicated.

Where do you take those video clips from??
EXCELLENT VIDEO!
Insulin blocks fat burning. Always.
You do not need refined sugar at all
What about whey protein? Some say they have very low sugar
In my experience whey protein has a compound in it called MELODEXTRIN That spikes sugar to give the sportsmen energy i learnt this from Dr Eric Berg

Dried fruits I'd assume still have all the fiber in them? So why never dried? All that's missing is water. Not fiber.
At least she is rich now
Yep. I think (if I remember it right) the problem with dried fruit is that it is very sugary. And also sticks to the teeth.
You don’t need fiber. Period!
Yeah we’re did the little seeds in banana go 🤔

How to bring down Hb A1C reading from 6.4 to below 5.0?

Nah... dont eat breakfast.
2 meals a day and fasting 1 day a week works wonders in your body.. and your wallet.
one thing she says about savory breakfast is to enjoy the leftovers from the previous dinner. it is alsl economical that way :)

The title says "1 Cup a Day Lowers the Blood Sugar and KILL Diseases" one cup of WHAT?
Water and vinegar
1 Tbl vinegar in one cup or more of water before your biggest meal of the day.
I tried vinegar, it ws horrible. I had the worst stomach ache for months. It can burn a hole in your stomach if you're sensitive. Terrible advice.
Ive done this for years with organic apple cidar vinegar to reduce my blood pressure. I hated the taste, but never had any issues.
So true. I only do a teaspoon or half in plenty of water. I have a sip before the meal and drink the rest immediately after. About a year ago I tried the Tbsp before meals and my tummy was on fire.
Tou have to put it in water and if stomach issues need to go alkaline

WHO CARES! This add more stress, live life to the fullest, enjoy. We all die eventually.
Who cares? Many people care about how food can either improve or damage their body. I do.
Nonsense. Oats are low IG (
You’re absolutely right!
