People used to get put in jai for this a hundred years ago. And hung 150 years ago . Foreign criminals can flee the country and never pay up. The credit card companies need to refuse to pay. Who agrees 20 grand for one tube of eye cream ? These are not the people that will even buy stuff like this normally. They were approached and then swindled. But never use a high balance credit card when ordering by phone or online and certainly not in person of you have to always ask for an itemized receipt. Also cash is good too ! Especially when getting fast food or dining out.
Most credit card companies would want to speak to the customer first before approving this kind of charge. Good thing they did not use a debit. I believe the scammers are smart enough not to charge a debit that much because then it becomes direct type of theft taking that much cash out of one’s bank. . These are not millionaires that go shopping out of town regularly and spend that kind of money. Mall owners and managers should not allow this to go on. What else will these people do for money if they will Do this ?
They got me in Hawaii for a $500 rip off cream, but at least they didn't try to charge my card more. A guy was standing in front of their store (kinda temporary looking in a recently vacated mall space) hustling the middle age solitary women. I felt stupid afterward, but I did it to myself.
So this isn't just in Santa Fe it's specifically these places that are mainly staffed with foreigners so there's an easy miscommunication with language that's used that'll make the customer think it was their fault. They lure women in with compliments then they point out their flaws followed with the products to "help." Sometimes they go the extent of finding out what the credit limit is on the person's credit card is and will max it out. Used to see this all the time at Coronado, they would lure people in with little samples and not let you walk away.
It’s so upsetting to see creeps taken advantage of the good nature of people trusting with their credit card, people stop taken samples of product that you do not know if is going to work ,and before you sign anything that envolved your credit card ,take a pause and go home and think about it, ask friends if this is legal, more and more people are getting dupe into buying stuff that you have no idea what crap has in it ,
This might be an Israeli scam; it happened to a friend of mine several years ago. They are very aggressive salesmen; they don't like to give you prices...
Call the attorney generals office. The police are useless
The AG's office is also useless.
The owner is a fraud
That makes no sense, but okay...
Crook - wonder what other shady dealings he's involved in. The IRS might like to pay him a visit!
So many scams
If you’re spending $400 on facecream then you deserve to be scammed. 😂😂😂
The fact that this story has so few views, as of this comment, is so disheartening. Really hope the NM AG gets this resolved quickly.
Did you not watch the video they said they already went to the AG another of victims had
Getting robbed after being scammed.
