  • On 1967, 20 people who were born on 15th August 1947 were interviewed about their life and asked about their thoughts on India. As they turned 20, so did India.
India in Pixels has remixed the original video by the Films Division of India ( • I am 20 ) to bring a flashback of the history.
What were their thoughts? What dreams did they have for India? Check out this video for a glance into the past.

It is humbling to see how our great country has evolved, slowly and steadily - few things are still the same, a lot has changed. This Independence day, ask yourself how are you contributing to India's story? As one of the speakers in the video says, it is very simple, you don't have to do anything extraordinary. Do what you are doing to the best of your ability, keep your surroundings clean, be strong and righteous, you will be helping India be great.

They talk and articulate their ideas so well and it is so interesting to see that the ideas being discussed then are still the ideas being discussed today, just in different scenarios. After watching this, I can't help but feel like our generation will end up disappointing them and their vision that they talked so passionately with hope glistening in their eyes. The fact that no one mentioned religion while talking about everything is exactly the reason why India ia where it is.
Yes, it could have been in a much better place, but still it has achieved a lot because of the mindset that religion has no role when it's about country.

Ur understanding is very superficial . There are theocracies that are progressive. Sweden is governed by Church. Atheist communist states are a total failure. You have a very narrow , wrong Nehruvian idea of everything. What religion you are talking about belongs to 5% people. 95% Hindus at least find no contradiction or enmity between religion and democracy and science. All the elements of so called revolution in society can well be traced to religion and culture also if you read things in detail.
And it was Congress that MADE no code bills for muslims and there is ZERO separation of radical Islam from politics and society in Islamic countries and even in muslims of India. It was Rajiv Gandhi who overturned the 1986 Supreme court secular decision to uphold women rights to allow Mullahs to take decision. It is the Mullas and Imams that are hindrance to separation of secular life from Islam. To some extent even the pastors
Seperatiion of faith from society is seen maximum among Hindus. Take Halaal meat for example. It is religious thing shoved down the throat of people of other faiths that too in secular democracy

The clarity of thought and confidence in their voice of those youngsters is absolutely amazing! And the reason I believe is.. then education was exclusive and people took it very very seriously. Nowadays it's cheap and widely available which is a very good thing, but people take it for granted. A larger portion of the population has become ignorant, arrogant, conservative and lazy. All they do is get into a rat race and become an unskilled labour and then boast about their education which is not useful at all.

The guy with a pair of specs, is the thinker, I would love to have long conversations with him. He has a very pragmatic Vedic approach of seeing things. Neither too optimistic, nor pessimistic, he's willing to work for the nation. I wonder how he's doing now. Great vid mate.

We saw young men from all sectors and the fact that each of them had their own goals about their future truly inspired me. Thank you!
