@@botorfj me too, best of luck with the build man
amazing video! love the in-depth review and it really helped me out a lot. I think a i am going to buy this board and this video helped to decide what keyboard i am buying. Thank you so much, great video man
Glad you liked it and happy to help!
Your video was so helpful for me as a noobie to the keeb community! I had no idea what the extra pads and stuff were in the ziplock baggie lol. Great detailed video!!
Happy to help and glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you're enjoying the board!
I have this too. I didn’t apply the gaskets on the top of the casing which kinda gave it a flex. Another thing is that I didn’t also put the stab pads it made the spacebar sound kinda muted for my liking. Great build btw!!
Thanks for your input and for checking out the vid!
i just got all the stuff to build this and im rly excited
Heck yeah! Good luck and enjoy!
Def gonna sub great vid!
Thanks for the love!
im gonna get this thanks
To cut your neoprene easily you need a sharper blade, that one was dragging pretty badly.
You can also throw it in the freezer a couple days in advance if you know you'll be needing it, when it's cold and stiff it'll cut a little easier.
Thanks for the tips!
Great review, Do you know the shortcut of how to change the Profiles on this CIY GAS67 ?
I do not, sadly
The Cstc75 is a 75% board and the full kit is cheaper right now on Aliexpress, I think this one is the best build right now for the budget, and is the same board used by Feker IK 75 wired, and others like Akko
Check out the video where I covered the Dierya T83. This white label OEM is becoming pretty common with many names at this point. Pretty good bargain but I still think the Monsgeek M1 is just mopping up all other budget 75% boards. $100 for a full alu board with south-facing sockets and QMK? These $50-80 boards are going to have to change socket orientation at the very least to stay competitive.
@@punkshoo You are correct, sadly the Monsgeek M1 that was my personal best choice for me, was too much expensive for me, and was the only pink color available in the store, I want to buy the white one... It was the definitive custom keyboard for me.. Instead I bought the Cstc75 board and the Akko ACR 75 V2... 2 keyboards for the price of the M1 Monsgeek.. =(
Quantity over quality I suppose. I guess we all have our own perspective on it. No shame in trying out more budget-friendly boards with less modern features if you're just looking to find yourself in the hobby or those features aren't relevant to you. Personally at this stage of the game I just don't really find much enjoyment in plastic cases these days so when Monsgeek came along with a $100 aluminum board it was a godsend. I fully expect it to start setting the trend for more ~$100ish barebones. After all, the NT75 aluminum edition was only like $120 USD so I think we're headed in the right direction.
@@punkshoo "Quantity over quality " Yep, I'm new to this hobby, It's my first time buying a true custom keyboard, I used mechanical keyboards for a while from these big brands like Razer, Logitech, HyperX, and others... Years ago I only knew the Anne Pro and Ducky and was too much expensive keyboard for me in my opinion for what was in the package( back in 2017 the price was very expensive more than now). In the last 2 years, the field evolved dramatically, with so many options, both cheap and expensive ones. Its all new to me. But what strikes me the most is how even these "cheap" boards like pure PCB kits with 3d printed cases with gasket mounts, and custom selected keycaps and switches, have better typing and sounding quality than my actual junky Razer Huntsman Elite Full size, that was more expensive than these 2 boards I just told you I bought combined... I'm very happy to find channels like yours that make reviews, and build and share knowledge to everyone and newcomers like me. My next aim is to buy the monsgeek M1 or the Keychron Q8 Pro with aluminium, when I manage to sell this Razer that I have
Thank you for sharing your experiences! When I entered the hobby I did the same thing. I got to a point where I had over 30 mostly "budget" (I use this loosely because some still consider alu Akko boards to be budget) boards just trying to discover what I liked. Also just the thrill of it, lol. Definitely have fun with it and experiment. The loss I took reselling the majority of my plastic boards was worth every bit of the knowledge gain and fun I had. Not to mention they finally went to homes that would give them more attention than I was. That's what its all about at the end of the day. Price shouldn't dictate how you have fun in this hobby. We all find our niche in it. I really hope that once you try your first aluminum board that you find enjoyment in it and, at the very least, if you find the diminishing returns not to be worth it that you continue on your journey sampling all the fun budget options out there!
Great video! In your opinion, would this be more worth it than the rkg68 for example? And how cheap does the keyboard feel while using it? Thank you!
This keyboard is hands down a better value over any tray mount board if you value a real custom keyboard experience with gasket mounted typing feel. It comes with some decent unlubed stabs that are a blank canvas for you to tune, dampening, and the typing feel is pretty great. Not too much and not too little flex.
Bro. No. You are too underrated. Like, give this man some subs guys.
Thanks for the love!
@@punkshoo Of course! Anything for another keyboard RUclipsr. Great video, great keyboard.
Hey man thanks for this video it was really helpful and I know I’m kind of commenting this a bit late but quick question. This is my first keyboard build and you know that little white cord on the case? How do you connect that to the pcb😂 I know it should be easy but it just won’t push in for me! Pls help me😭
Always happy to make vids for cool value oriented boards. If the JST connector is not pushing in it is likely that one of the pins is bend. Look inside the connector on the PCB with a good light source and straighten the pins with a set of tweezers if they are bent.
@@punkshoo ok tysm!
@@punkshoo also do u push in the JST connector with the with the only white part up or with the little silver lines facing up?
I guess divinikey’s (at least the 20 you got) meteor whites are worse than bolsa’s based off this sample (if those are the switches you got from me). Overall, clean looking and sounding board though!
Nothing a little break-in and lube cant fix, lol. And, yeah, I think it turned out pretty nice. Not my preferred sound profile but pretty darn good for a $50 keyboard ($150 total).
i have that board too!11!
Neat
The board actually sounds good, and looks good too. I don't know why he doesn't like it much. It is missing a Control key on the right side of the board, which some people use regularly: why omit it.
Thanks for checking out the video! I wasn't happy with the sound signature that was achieved considering it had all the right makings of a nice foamy deep-sounding build. Quite frankly, I chose the wrong switches and it was a bit too high pitched for my liking. Also, Its pretty common in 65% and 75% layouts to omit the right control. If you really like this configuration I am giving it away at the end of the month so be sure to check out linktr.ee/punkshoo for the giveaway link!
Hey man it’s me again and I looked inside the JST connector on the case and I couldn’t see any bents but the connector still won’t push in. What should I do??

wish it was south facing, insane value anyways
Same. So close!
my pe foam sheet wasnt cut very accurately, so I had to split mine in half in order to assemble it properly
turns out the instructions also tell you to install the gaskets on the case, in order to not have to deal with the gaskets being placed improperly.
It doesn't seem to work very well anyway. When I rebuild it I'll use actual PE foam for that nice sound it gives. Pretty amazing, otherwise.
Can you like....just buy a different pcb to replace the north facing led's ?
If you use the provided PCB the socket orientation is static. I have heard of others using other PCBs, though, so it could be worth investigating. It would severely diminish the value sentiments of this particular board, though.
THE CAT here for the gas gas gas!
Give it all the GAS! Send it!
yoooooooooo its hxntzz
@@huntzzio supp
hello, when i check, there is no keycap with japan version. Can i have another link to buy it :
The Hiragana is only available on the ACR 87 as far as I know.
hows the flex with foam at the case?
There's no flex with or without the foam.
What other budget keycaps compatible for gas67 north facing led with no interference? anyone can recommend?
Anything that is not Cherry profile. XDA, MDA, JDA, OEM, OSA, ASA, SA, etc etc. Really comes down to what is budget for you. OEM and XDA keycap profiles are generally going to be your most inexpensive.
this the transparent black ?
Yes, its the transparent black case. Its just barely transparent. Doesn't really even show up on camera.
This or zouya gmk67? I want to ask for your unbiased opinion.
Both are great boards but if you want a true gasket experience I would go with the GAS67. Especially considering there is a trimode version available now. If you dont care about that and want a knob then the GMK67 and its equivalents are great, too. Nice thing about the GMK67 is that there are plenty of white labels out there that already include switches and caps at a discounted rate, too.
Does it work on Mac since I have a macbook?
Yes, it is, from my understanding.
where did you get your neoprene sheet?
Bought a roll off Amazon.
amzn.to/3viSmWw
@@punkshoo wait can u tell me what the specifics were
I used the 1/16in *12in * 4.9FT size non-adhesive roll.
@@punkshoo how mcuh extra did you have after putting it in your board?
Much. This is a tool so I purchased it to use with multiple boards.
Can I change the keymap?
You can with the software, yes. Software can be found here: drive.google.com/file/d/1ebr2_PKy6fM4_eJEdZlibNjunD7n5Mci/view?usp=sharing
@@punkshoo Thank you!
You need Final Cut skills first!
Then, how long u used these keys, how bad is it?
Logitech Pro are my Keys, blue now, cheap too! Why should this be better?
Jokes on you. I don't use Final Cut. And nobody said this was better or worse than your mainstream clunky harder to service keyboard. That's the glorious thing about this hobby. It's all preference. I left Logi behind after 8 generations because I was tired of replacing my keyboard every year and removing 30 screws and breaking 20 clips only to find proprietary switches under the hood. If anything, being able to actually repair and/or upgrade makes this $50 keyboard run circles around the Logi Pro.
