Hey Scotty always great info. Just so you know, Cambridge has two plants North, South and a 3rd plant in Woodstock Ontario called West. The South plant builds the Lexus, and now the North and West build the RAV4. The North did build the Corolla until 2019. The North and South plants are actually attached, so are technically correct when you say they are built in the same factory but they are considered 2 different plants.
I’ve had my 2012 Lexus IS 350 for a little over a year and a half, and it’s the best car that I’ve ever bought. Nothing beats a Toyota product that was made in Japan!
And you paid the same money even more than what 1st owner paid when it was brand new right? I checked and prices of used ones are insane! Better buy a brand new one!
My 2002 Acura MDX was made in Canada too. It's an incredible car just like this one. 3 rows of heated leather seats, heated mirrors, moon roof, fog lights, it's AWD, 3.5L Honda vtec engine. $1700 and it only had 155k miles. What a steal.
I bought a used, one-owner Lexus GS350 (2013) and love it. Had it checked out by a mechanic and other than some leaky shocks, it was perfect. The good thing is that a lot of times you can check online with Lexus and they will have service records for their cars. I was able to see that mine was serviced at the dealership up until the time I bought it. Saved a lot of money on a great car.
Was in the market for a luxury car. I test drove a 2020 S 560 4-Matic, and they drive great until they don't. Went over to the Lexus dealer test drove an LS 500 and I am a now a believer. Thanks Scotty! Good health to you!
I love my 2014 GS 450h that I bought with 33K miles, in March of 2020, right when the dealers started discounting everything in their inventory because nobody was going into showrooms. I got a great deal on a loaded Lexus and my wife absolutely loves the car.
I purchased a 2004 rx330 with 116,000 miles on it in 2010. It has 386,000 miles today and has cost me less than $3000 in total repairs over the years. Drove it to Canada one week and then to Ft. Lauderdale the next week. Great value, no regrets.
A year and a half ago, we bought a 2014 Lexus RX350 with 77,000 miles on it. We paid $19,000. Bought it from a rural Toyota dealership. We took a trip this week and it went over 100,000 miles just about fifty miles from home. We had considered a used 2016 Toyota Highlander. Found a really nice one, the private seller was asking $29,000. It was very nice, with the long moon roof and captain's chairs in the front and rear. Almost bought it. But I thought I remembered Scotty saying that the 2016 Toyotas had GDI fuel injection. I didn't want any part of that, so we went with the older vehicle. Pretty much everything Scotty says about this 2012 model is true of ours. It's a great highway cruiser and does not get great gas mileage, but it's pretty good, considering. Rides nicely, very quiet, hauls a bunch of stuff, the seats are great, and the A/C pumps cold.
Got a 2013 RX 350 with 64,000 miles on it 7months ago for around $18k, very solid and comfortable car, happy with the purchase. Just changed the oil and did a tire rotation at 69,200 miles
The 2010-2015 seats are more comfy than the newer models 2011 bought certified one owner w/33k and paid 25k 7 years ago. Battery, tires, water pump, and tire pressure sensor. Very reliable it has 109k now. Still love it
I got UX200 2021. I feel like a Royal on the road. Everything is great but I heard a creeking noise when I drive 100km over on my dash board, left door makes creeking noise when I play music, when I play youtube music and change my volume, it plays media player which is super annoying. Rare passenger air vents seems to have not working ( may be it detects seat ) I tried all everything still cant make it work. I will take it to dealership soon its only 10000km odometer. Still I am really happy with it.
I just bought a 2013 Lexus RX450h for $15k. I have the original sticker and it's MSRP price was $57,320. Made in Japan. It has 145k miles on it. Looking over the service history, the only issues it had in 145k miles is a faulty O2 sensor and a burned out taillight. That's it. It drives, handles and looks like new - it was well taken care of and garage kept by the previous owner. Zero rust underneath. No leaks anywhere - the underside is bone dry. The previous owner followed the Lexus service schedule religiously and changed the oil, transmission and differential fluids, flushed the coolant and Hybrid coolant and the brake system. The spark plugs were replaced at 135K miles. The Lexus dealer I bought it from went over the car and replaced the brakes and rotors and put on new tires. They also did an alignment. According to the dealer, the hybrid battery still has 94% capacity and the hybrid system works perfectly. I'm getting 27MPG in mixed driving. I couldn't be happier and I plan on keeping it for a very long time. One more thing: buying from my local Lexus dealer was the most pleasant and enjoyable buying experience I ever had in my 50 years of experience of buying a car. They treated me with respect, dignity and bent over backwards to make sure I was satisfied. I did all the paperwork online and when I went for the test drive the car was detailed with a full tank of gas and ready to go. I came back from the test drive, signed the papers and was heading home in my RX450h within 90 minutes. They even drove my old car back to my house for me. I was so happy with how things went I actually sent a thank you card to my sales person in appreciation for being so kind and helpful. All dealerships should treat their customers as well as my Lexus dealership does. I'm a Lexus customer for life.
I bought the 2011 model in 2020. Only thing I’ve had to do is have the front wheel bearings replaced. I get so many compliments on the car. I make sure to keep up with oil changes.
That Lexus was a very good buy! Solid built, still looks great, solid engine and transmission, just all around great ride. That gas mileage really is not bad for a V6 pulling that much weight. Honestly, I would upgrade the stereo to have a better back up camera and call it a day. The Lexus will last the owner for many trouble free years.
Very important***** Make sure you look underneath before buying used. Look for oil on the passenger side. This is a “front engine timing cover” leak which needs to be resealed. It is 3k job bc they have to remove the engine to get to it… independent mechanic and Lexus mechanic… You will also see the leak if the turn the wheel to the left or right while in park, get out of the car and look behind the wheel well. It will be wet. Either have that negotiated off the price or run… the RX has a great engine and super reliable but has issues with its engine timing cover..
I love my ‘O8 RX350 AWD. Very comfortable capable ride with all the luxury bells and whistles I want. Bought it w 99km in 2016, still running like a dream now at 177km, and so far have only had to replace muffler (rust) and brakes/calipers a few years ago. Wonderful car, w excellent pick up. Yes, faithfully doing my oil changes. Love this car!!
Bought my 2010 ES 350 in 2019 with only 62K miles on it for $12.5K (probably would've cost $18K once the pandemic hit).Three years later & unsurpisingly, it's still flawless!!
2010 450h has been flawless, 208k miles, replaced front seat leather, had struts changed. The salesman said oil change every 10k I said no way I change it every 5k. 27.5 mpg also just changed out the hybrid battery that was 3.5k refurbished. still love it, cushy, comfortable I put a tow bar on it for my boat to pulls fine.
Bought a 2014 RX 350 in February of 2020 with 83000 miles now it has 127000 miles .....I change all the fluids and every 5000 miles the oil is changed. Best vehicle I ever owned.
@@eleanormassaro5195 yeah I agree, no way it could be as bad as my Sequoia, the 18 mpg I get is mixed and I do drive very conservatively, I could easily half that if was gunning it everywhere.
Bought a 96 LS400 with a little over 100k miles last summer for 7 grand. Car is mint. I tell ya, I’ve got more people looking over that car than anything I’ve owned. Stands out now amongst the cookie cutters. Been good so far, had to replace the fuel pump but that’s been it.
Bought a 2013 RX350 F Sport with 128k miles last year at the peak of this craziness for $18K. I ran my scanner and all checked out. The car was fawless inside out. I replaced transmission fluid, engine oil, differential fluid, transfer case fluid, serpentine belt, air intake filter, brake rotos and pads upon purchase to make sure it lasts me a lifetime. Amazing car is all I can say. I'm planning to get an ES350 for my wife soon.
We bought it and live in PA. We noticed it had a plate frame from a Lansing Lexus dealership and a ticket from the Detroit airport in it when we bought it.
It seems always the older technology is more reliable than the newer one. Just like the manual transmissions which are way more reliable than automatic ones.
Ha! This is pretty much my SUV! I bought a used 2014 RX350 with 119K miles in 2020 for $15K (with most of the service records in hand). Love it! Great to drive, comfortable, looks sharp. Gas mileage isn't great -- the average hovers between 19.2 and 19.6. We've had to do a few repairs, but nothing major or catastrophic. Now we'd like to replace my husband's old hatchback with a 3-row SUV, and wow has used car-shopping become horribly expensive and pretty miserable.
We'd love to find a used RX350L or GX at a good price, but we may start considering the Acura MDX, too. Or a Highlander -- but when I was shopping for my RX350, it was easier to find well-maintained RX350s than Highlanders, and the price wasn't very different!
I remember working in body shop as a kid in the early 80s. I got to deliver new cars to all the dealerships. New 350Z and the Maxima talking back. Mazda truck with stick was awsome. Keep up the great info Scotty.
Wait, do you mean the I owned Japanese made '91 mazda b2600i 4x4 short cab full bed! Threw some white wagon wheels and 32" m/ts on that thing and that it could climb a tree🤣. I'd fallow friends on ATVs wherever they'd go😱! This truck and the wrangler are all I know that can keep with an ATV side by side. Had put a camper top and full conversion b4 having to let go do to situation.😒. -i truly miss you Christine💙😭
I thought Scotty was going to be talking about the 2023 that is a four-cylinder TwinTurbo set up. No more V-8 in the full-size Toyota pick up, and no more V-6 in the RX 350. 🤦🏻♂️
Consider yourself lucky, I bought a LS460 used with 125K miles. I was the 5th owner. Man was that car was a POS, it had many cooling system problems in the 1 year I owned it. Also, the dash and door panels were sticky and soft. It had a clunk when backing over bumps. The engine has been hot so many times, I traded it in before anything more major happened to it.
@@brandonstclair6530 I don't care if it's brand new- if people beat the crap out of a car that's gonna happen 5th owner? That should have tipped you off right away
@@brandonstclair6530 aha! I’ve got a 15 IS250, bought it in 19 w/27k on it. Sometimes tempted to go to the flagship, a 460 or preferably a 430 if I find the right one. BUT sometimes I copy and paste an LS vin into my “Lexus Garage” which shows Lexus dealer repair histories. Wow. Some of those LS repairs. Too much $$$. Found a super nice 430, original owner, super nice; exceptional! Put it in my “garage”. He had just had it in saying the air suspension wasn’t working right. Dealer checked it, couldn’t replicate it, said it’s fine. Nooooo way. The LS is simply very expensive to repair, and that always takes me back to what I’m driving, which is pretty amazing, actually.
Scotty I always loved these I wanted to buy one my only concern nobody talks about is the oil line that’s know to fail in these the only replacement comes from Toyota but still has the same problem any thoughts anyone .
I bought my Lexus RX350 privately with 80 k on the clock and a few months later checked it in for a 90k recommended service. I had only travelled approx 86k but thought be good to get this comprehensive service from the agent here in Tauranga NZ. To my surprise I was advised this car was on a recall list for a oil pipe replacement which was included in the service at no charge. The service mgr told me at pickup the car was like as new and did not require any additional work. Just drive, it he said. My third Lexus, following two GS300 cars which totally sold me on these vehicles. The new RX with a 2 litre turbo engine worries me tho. Think I will stick with the tried and true V6. Mike Bearman.
We had one of these as a loner from the Lexus dealer the other day when our GX was being serviced and I can say that it was unequivocally the finest automobile I’ve ever driven.
I love my made-to-order 2019 RX 350, which I bought new. I don't drive much anymore, so it should last me a decade plus. Best auto I've ever owned. But it was kinda pricey. Hey, I worked hard for many years, so I treated myself. No regrets.
💥💥💥💥 Yes, please, what are the Best tires for these 3rd generation Lexus RX350 ? I have FWD and it is a 2015. What tires do people like best ???? Thanks.
My wife has an RX, my neighbor has an RX, my aunt has a UX, my other neighbor has an GX, grandma has an RX, my sister has an MDX (it’s had transmission problems, but it does handle well). Mom is in the market for a new SUV, but she wants to buy a Telluride.
I test drove a 2012 RX 350 a couple of weeks ago, it had way worse tech and far less options than my 2009 Venza. Also, the transmission was slipping in it and the wheel bearings were shot. It only had 129,000 KMs on it and they were asking $17,000 for it. A week later they had it reduced to $14,000.
A well maintained top trim from the regular line will be much better than a poorly maintained bottom trim from the luxury line, sure. Heck, all things being equal if you spring for all the bells and whistles on the highest trim level of a Toyota or Honda, like the Camry or Accord, it'll be better than getting that same money's worth in its luxury counterpart.
@@sethdel5337 venza had many options although less options than the rx350. The top of the line venza is the limited edition model. Both rx350 and venza were built on the same platform however the newer model years of venza is now based on rav4.
Scotty, Looking at a 12 450h with 125k. Solid oil change / Maint history. Any thoughts on the CVT and hybrid? I'm a big DIY guy and knowing i'd be limited to makes me nervous. The fact that its a lexus makes me worry less. Trying to confirm if these Hybrid models only came in AWD for 12 hyrbid. I'm in Florida and have no need for that. Lol
Scotty -- HELP!!! I bought a 2002 RX300 with 250k miles for $3900. Put four brand new tires on it. Runs perfectly. No codes. Long term fuel trim is zero. I have no info about when the timing belt was last changed. I was recently given an estimate of $1100 for changing the timing belt/water pump, etc., but I'm on a fixed, very limited income. Is it worth it?
I own 2x 2000 Sienna which should have the same engine 1MZ-FE engine which are not interference engine. When the timing belt goes. Just replace it along with a new water pump and away you go. Keep in your mind that it can go at anytime. So prepare yourself with a roadside membership. (CAA here in Canada) I think it’s called AAA in USA
Bought a 2009 rx350 155,000 miles. Needs some suspension work, normal stuff for age and miles. But otherwise a great car and I love it!!! And I but my payments in half from my previous car
hey actually buying a 2014 rx 350 with 70k miles, wanted to know how much doest it cost to change the engines mounts of the v6 engine? and the engine mounts of the gear box?
I always liked Lexus SUVS remember when the small midsize RX came out back in the mid 90s saw a white thought looked so beautiful was still a kid at that time had some Lexus for toys hope you be able get your hands on a SC 400.
I got a 2010 RX 350 but it just gives me 11 mpg max and minimum I saw it sometimes go all the way down to 6 even 5 mpg I don’t understand why the engine runs good and I keep the tires air pressure good I use 93 gas. Can you give me any advice however to get more mpg?

Very important***** Make sure you look underneath before buying used. Look for oil on the passenger side. This is a “front engine timing cover” leak which needs to be resealed. It is 3k job bc they have to remove the engine to get to it… independent mechanic and Lexus mechanic… You will also see the leak if the turn the wheel to the left or right while in park, get out of the car and look behind the wheel well. It will be wet. Either have that negotiated off the price or run… the RX has a great engine and super reliable but has issues with its engine timing cover..
How common is this issue? Does it effect the 2016-2019 rx350?
Is ir because of vvti rattle ? What year is yours?
Love my 2013 RX. 126k and it has been perfect.
Bought a 2006 Lexus RX 330, White/tan leather with 94,000 miles in 2022. Looks brand new! The most comfortable SUV out there. Got it for $13,000.
Bought a 2014 RX 350 in February of 2020 with 83000 miles now it has 127000 miles .....I change all the fluids and every 5000 miles the oil is changed. Best vehicle I ever owned.
Are you kidding? Even the brake fluid and coolant? Trans oil too?
You are wasting money then. You don't need to change all the fluids every 5000 miles.
@@rol_rob2603 He probably changes the windshield washer fluid too. 😂
@@althunder4269 Probably 😂🤣
Love you Scotty! Always such good information! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
My 2004 Sequoia 4WD gets 18 mpg! Paid $4000 2 years ago, still has only 165,000 miles, absolutely flawless.
That was a steal 👍👍
My 2010 RX averages 17 mpg in city driving and up to 25 mpg on long road trips. So it sounds like the RX in this video is indicating more city driving
@@eleanormassaro5195 yeah I agree, no way it could be as bad as my Sequoia, the 18 mpg I get is mixed and I do drive very conservatively, I could easily half that if was gunning it everywhere.
🤪😜😜😝🤣
My 2002 Acura MDX was made in Canada too. It's an incredible car just like this one. 3 rows of heated leather seats, heated mirrors, moon roof, fog lights, it's AWD, 3.5L Honda vtec engine. $1700 and it only had 155k miles. What a steal.
Absolutely gorgeous car. That thing is a tank.
Michigan? It has PA plates and inspection stickers.
We bought it and live in PA. We noticed it had a plate frame from a Lansing Lexus dealership and a ticket from the Detroit airport in it when we bought it.
Hello Scotty from Mooresville NC USA
afternoon!
It seems always the older technology is more reliable than the newer one. Just like the manual transmissions which are way more reliable than automatic ones.
Still rocking our 2007 Lexus RX350H with 155k miles!! Like a champ!!
Got my 06 is350 with 189k for 8k in cali last summer. Best vehicle I've ever owned
That's an awesome deal. Here, in Commiefornia for the same example, you're looking at $20,000.
Just bought a 22 is 350 awd f sport. 48 asking , 55 after all options. I’m in love with it. I don’t regret anything
Those look like PA inspection stickers. Nice long drive.
They are
There’s one on the market with 180,000 miles and a brand new transmission from Lexus. It’s a 2013 for $12,000.
Should I go for it?
I purchased a brand new 2022 IS500 for $61,000 in January. Sue me.
Still have a 2014 -mileage sucks- only 12-13mpg in the city. But no issues at 167000miles - only changing the oil at 5k intervals as Scotty says😅
One of these are 25-30k in Canada. The used car market is insanity!
They stealing us man
Hi Scotty! I have an '07 LS 460 with 144k miles. Runs really well. But only like 11 or so mpg yikes. Minor cosmetic issues but great. 👋
Why you won't sell it for $17,000 and buy a 100 series land cruiser
@@billnotpay I am selling mine for 11k. I actually want a Prius believe it or not lol.
Transmission issues eventually tho sadly.
The backup camera looks like the brightness level is way down. Could be adjusted.
It doesn’t actually look that dark in person but I will check the settings.
The only thing I will say about the back up camera is that you just need to turn your screen brightness up, took me a while to realize this in my 2015
We had one of these as a loner from the Lexus dealer the other day when our GX was being serviced and I can say that it was unequivocally the finest automobile I’ve ever driven.
Cd player is the way to go! No android garbage please. Lol. I'll stick with my 06 4 runner.
I love my made-to-order 2019 RX 350, which I bought new. I don't drive much anymore, so it should last me a decade plus. Best auto I've ever owned. But it was kinda pricey. Hey, I worked hard for many years, so I treated myself. No regrets.
I’m on my third Lexus suv, I love them, totaled one, now I own a 330 and a 300 I love them
2012 Lexus RX350, midsized
SUV 115kmiles, $14,500s,
Change oil every 5000 miles = 8050 km approx. Thank you, Scotty! From Canada 🇨🇦
I have a 2016 for my daughter and a 21 Rx for my wife. Awesome cars!
Happy Sunday!
I bought a 1998 Lexus GS 300 in very good condition looks like new with 160k for 6k and happy with the car.
Scotty where are these Pennsylvania cars coming from that are on your channel? I can notice those inspection stickers anywhere lol
Lexus RX 350 for 2023 will be available only with a turbocharged four cylinder engine. I WAS considering one.
My 2020 Hyundai suv I was able to purchase for $23,000 and only 13k miles in early 2021. I now have 38k miles and between that time, only oil changes!
I got a 2005 lexus rx330 awd for 5 grand 110k miles
Are there any years to avoid in an RX or ES?
I bought a 2018 RX350 with 16k miles last year for 44k ..did I get a good deal?
Scotty if you get this please tell me what is the best most comfortable quiet tires for my 2011 Lexus RX 350?
💥💥💥💥 Yes, please, what are the Best tires for these 3rd generation Lexus RX350 ? I have FWD and it is a 2015. What tires do people like best ???? Thanks.
Thanks for this video. I am also considering a RX 450h hybrid. What's your opinion?
Great video, Scotty! Love Lexus and Toyota!
1999 RX 300 220,000 miles still running great
My wife has an RX, my neighbor has an RX, my aunt has a UX, my other neighbor has an GX, grandma has an RX, my sister has an MDX (it’s had transmission problems, but it does handle well). Mom is in the market for a new SUV, but she wants to buy a Telluride.
I remember when 19 mpg was fantastic for a big 4x4
You Rock Scotty aka Car Jesus!!!
Every car can be poorly treated. Rx350s have base models that are not optioned out much just like venzas which can be a base model and up.
Venza was top of line unless someone got a base one. One of the best vehicles ever made.
@@sethdel5337 venza had many options although less options than the rx350. The top of the line venza is the limited edition model. Both rx350 and venza were built on the same platform however the newer model years of venza is now based on rav4.
I like those older Venzas.
Lol
Guess that’s why my uncle only buys Lexus cars. And my aunt just got one of these used in mint shape too.
THIS JOB ON THE CAMRY V6 COST ABOUT FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS !
These have an issue with an oil cooler hose that tends to rapture while driving and destroy the engine. They sell a metal replacement for it
The 2grfe came with metal vvti lines by 2010.
Scotty what about a used RX 450h?
hey actually buying a 2014 rx 350 with 70k miles, wanted to know how much doest it cost to change the engines mounts of the v6 engine? and the engine mounts of the gear box?
I upgraded from a Yaris 4 door hatchback 2008 to Prius C 2012. I've never bought a new car. 💡
The Prius C is smaller than the Yaris 4 door hatchback. But it has the bulletproof 1.5L engine that dates back Generation 1 and way back to the Echo.
I'm sorry to hear that!
Prius c is a great car
I did like my Yaris a lot. 🚙
Good Day Scotty! 🏁
hello!
I always liked Lexus SUVS remember when the small midsize RX came out back in the mid 90s saw a white thought looked so beautiful was still a kid at that time had some Lexus for toys hope you be able get your hands on a SC 400.
hey Scotty I installed a scram jet engine on my 2003 smart cross blade will I get better gas mileage
Scotty never disappoints 😂
Which ODB2 tool are you using to check this Lexus out?
The new RXs ride exceptionally rough. Made in Canada? My Lexus Is japanese made and no repairs in 7 years of ownership
Should I buy a used 350 rx or a used 350h.
So Scotty, is it a 2012 or a 2016? You called it both.
Neither, it’s 2013-2015
2013
Do these need premium gasoline? Seems to be divided opinion on this
my 2011 Gs 350 was made in Japan. my friend are all bimer folks a little fast but I don't see my delarship.
Is getting the hybrid version worth it? I saw a 2015 rx450h 81k miles for 15,995. I think it's a good deal
Hoping Scotty /someone knowledgeable answers this question! It's a great one.
Yes.
Any suggestions on fixing the cooled seat function on a 2011 RX350?
scooty gotta upload a video about lexus/toyota specially after ideal cars made a video about him 😂😂
