I just got my dad's 2002 RX with 59k on it 20yrs in the garage...and I just got done detailing everything 4days ...The baby's in SHOWROOM condition...A dream come true
Thanks for the info, that's good news to me! I just purchased a 2004 RX330 with 140,000 miles. I was wondering if you could tell me when you replaced the timing belt, camshaft crankshaft oil seals and shock absorbers.? thank you for your time Randall!🤙

Hey !! What do you think about lexus rx 400h . In europe the more famous model is 400h . But it has a CVT transmission. I think rx350 needs premium gas ??
Thanks for the complements, I’ve been working at the Cambridge Plant in the Weld Shop since 2012 and I own a 2015 RX 350 and love it and it’s pretty cool owning a car you actually built.
As an owner of a Canadian bill Lexus RX 350 2009 thank you and your colleagues for their attention to detail, I absolutely love this car. I'm sure you will keep up the good work!
These RX350's are solid cars, no doubt! My wife has a 2009 with 137,000 miles. The only major things I've changed were tires, brakes, a battery and an O2 sensor. These will run forever!
After watching this, I was looking at the new RX350s, but eventually negotiated a very good deal on a one owner, low mileage, 4th gen, 2016 RX350 (L-Certified) Luxury package and saved a ton off the new ones. You are right - these are solid vehicles. THANK YOU SCOTTIE!!! Best of all, it's a keeper and it's paid for...
I bought one of these yesterday with some body damage. It runs and drives perfectly. It has 415,000 miles on it! For real. Needs rear struts for sure and the main driver control won't roll down the driver rear glass. Switch works on the rear door. I bet some contact cleaner will fix it.. But that's it really. Oh, and I got it for $1500!! I'll take that for the WIN!
im so happy i stumbled across this video, im getting ready to purchase a 2007 lexus rx 350 from a small dealership though. it has 115k miles for $9,500. Did the carfax report, only had 1 owner, no accidents and no major issues, it was either that or a 2010 jeep grand cherokee loredo. i couldnt decide but after watching this video ive made my decision. im a new mom of twin girls so i NEED a reliable car that i can pay off within a year and not have to worry about breaking down!! Thank you Scotty
Not really, they usually come with something that has to be replaced even if only the battery! If new just put gas and if it breaks down or if something is bad get it fixed for free. I bough an used ES 350 2008 I've spent so far $700 with no check engine light on and passing emissions! One owner car etc! It came with rubber vvti line, bad cv joint rubber, bad radiator cap, bad leaky gas cap(small leak), weak battery bad side speakers and cabin filter I could had save the money on this maintenance and many come with 50,000 free maintenance at least where I would buy it.
I have an 04 330 with 80k , it runs flawless , super smooth and yes everything still works like you mentioned . The RX is possibly the most reliable suv on the road .
I'm going to be a lexus owner in a few days! So excited! Rx 400h 2008 with 160 000km this video gives me peace of mind... The high mileage is no problem
It’s known fact and Scotty will confirm, RX 450h will have a few advantages over Rx 350, first of all instead of getting combine 24/25 mpg, 400h will give you combine city/hwy - 30mpg. The eCVT of 450h is a better transmission than CVT on lower RX models. And third you can find 450h even more reliable for about the same asking price like RX 350 and have top loaded RX instead. Good luck!
@@kevinjones1111 Trust me, replace batt. It will be half again faster again. I just did and WOW! Only pay @ $2k though, thru pvt. Guys panosonic ONLY!!
Scotty, You're preaching to the choir! I purchased a 2007 RX350 a few months ago. It is everything you say. A comfortable, well built, smooth riding machine. I upgraded the sound system with an Alpine unit which sounds amazing. I'm expecting to get at least another 100,000 miles out of it.
Yup! We have the same year rx350 all wheel drive from the original owner...bought it with only 75,000 miles back in early 2019. This will be set-up as our overland vehicle to camp in the middle of nowhere...great vehicle. Hopefully yours runs well...
Glad to know my main vehicle is a good one. I got my 2007 rx350 in 2017 , had 180,000 miles on it. Today I just made it to 227,000. Still runs pretty damn smooth. And we've had to replace some things. Shocks alternator, etc. Still runs like a charm !
I bought a 2007 yesterday with some repairable body damage. Runs and drives fine. It has 415,000 miles on it! No joke. Runs like a top! Nothing other than one bad window switch and needs rear struts. Worn slap out.
My wife owned a 2004 Rx330, and now a 2013 RX350, and both were/are amazing vehicles. I agree with everything Scotty said. They ride and drive amazingly. They are not quick, but it feels like you are in a jet during takeoff if you hit the gas. Wonderful cars on long trips; gas mileage is the only issue. Dealer wanted $1300 for 4 new tires, so we went to a tire shop and got 4 60k Continentals for $750, lol.
My mom was picking me up from a Nissan Dealership in her 09 rx350. A salesman came out and told her to never sell or trade in hat car, he said it’s one of the best Lexus’s ever made.
Got to admit. All your Lexus videos have converted me into a big fan of the brand. It totally makes sense to buy this brand in comparison to its competition. I like to drive cars a bit more after paying them off and this is one brand to do it. Less worries of serious issues while out of warranty.
I've had my 2019 RX 350 for 7 months now, and am very happy with it. Very comfy for long road trips, and plenty powerful for me. In-city gas mileage isn't great, when driving 3 miles at a pop, a few times a week, but I don't drive enough miles to whine about that. Sure it wasn't cheap, but I plan to keep it for 10+ years, and I wanted a safe, reliable, comfortable suv, so I saved up my swear jar change for years and finally bought one. I'd do it again.
@@kkhang8617 I just made a 500-mile trip, and got around 30 MPG on the highway, doing 60-70 MPH. But around town I get much less, like 17-19 MPG, usually. I drive very conservatively, with easy acceleration and lots of coasting to stops. I also keep it in ECO mode, rather than Sport mode.
Thank you Scotty. I work at the Cambridge Auto Plant , been there for over 30 years. You are right. We take a lot of pride in the Toyota's and Lexus we send to you guys in the US. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Kindest Regards from Canada.
@@janicesylvester5929 Hi Janice, I know you were probably hoping for a reply from Scotty, but I will give you a reply. Most batteries will die when left for a while due to a parasitic drain. There is also drainage due to colder temperatures. Where my car was having difficulty, was the aftermarket remote starter that the previous owner installed. Once it was disconnected and disabled my battery life returned to normal. I still can't leave it for very long periods of time, because there are so many systems on modern cars that need power to maintain their function. There are no less than 49 ECU's on a new Lexus RX350. Those draw power at a trickle, but over time, your battery will drain to a point of a no start condition. Hope this helps. Kindest Regards, Dan
Hey Dan the question was to you. Thank you for the reply. I am planning to take it to the dealer to get it fix, because I don't think if I don't drive it for a day or two it should die so quickly.
I will Dan thank you. I am just worried about the cost, you know Lexus is expensive lol. But if it's too much to fix I might just trade it in or something.
I have a 2005 Lexus RX 330 and still running with 155,000 miles on it. Had to rebuild the engine because cylinders started going bad, but the previous owner made several racing modifications to the vehicle so it probably explains the issues. Highly recommend these Lexus SUVs. Held value very well.
Just bought mine from Beverly Hills Lexus for $14k. 2008 RX400h hybrid. It was a trade in by an old lady. Perfect condition with on 60k miles on the odometer. Love it
Yeah how much did you buy it for and did you buy it from out of state cause those are the only ones I'm finding but I can't touch or see in person before I buy it. Scared to buy sight unseen. What should I do? I really want one cause I need one for my neck. @scotty please help with advice. Thank you
Agree 💯 % I own a 16 years old RX330. It still looks more modern than some of these newer cars on the road. Love how the tail lights look like crystal. And interior still feels luxurious
Just bought a Lexus 330 with 94,000 miles. It’s pearl white, tan brown leather and looks new! Drives great! The seats are the best! My all-time favorite car.
I have a 2010 RX 350 and have never had ANY mechanical issues. Tires, brakes, oil changes, and all the recommended service items. Nothing more. Best car I have ever owned.
We bought our Lexus RX300 new in December 2003, next month it's 20 years old. 214k miles later and it still drives like new. Newer technology would be nice but I'm happy with sticking with our old car.
True story: because of Scotty's channel, as well the advice of as a few other RUclipsrs i follow, we have ALL Toyota products; bought them all used, too! 5 years ago I bought my wife an '05 Highlander (w/80k miles on the clock!) that she uses to commute 5 miles each day to work and we usually take it on long road trips, and I just bought myself an '09 Lexus IS250 (w/100k miles on it) about 5 months ago. Took the Highlander in for an oil change recently and had the mechanic check everything on the truck; no problems!! All I've done is change the oil, a new battery (the sun KILLS batteries here in AZ; you have to replace them every 2-2.5 years), put new tires on the thing, and basic maintenance (air filters, etc) and its been a great car. Took the Lexus in for an oil change and got a big "thumbs up" from my mechanic; the previous owner kept taking the car to the dealership and had things replaced as recommended by the dealer (new struts, new rotors, and all of the other expensive things that are a rip-off IMO) so I basically have a fairly new car! AVOID USED EUROPEAN CARS, my friends! I've owned Benz's, Bimmers, Jaguars, and VW's over the last 20 years and only one of them was close to being as dependable as our Toyota's. (We had an 03 MB M350 for several years before we had an accident in that car, otherwise I'd have kept it.) Do your research, listen to Scotty and others, and your car ownership experience will be blissful! Thanks, Scotty!
Your timing was perfect. I was just (2 days ago) looking at replacing my wife’s 2012 VW with something. I was considering a 2010 RX350 with 155,ooo km’s. It wasn’t exactly cheap, but I feel way more confident about these RX’s after watching today’s video. Thanks Scotty!
Double check the steering rack! those are prone to leak on the 2010s. and if you replace it or it was replaced with an aftermarket one, you'll be replacing it in the future. otherwise bullet proof!!
Just bought a 2009 for my wife about 6 months ago and we are loving it! It’s everything Scotty said it is in the video. I avoided the 2007s because some of them have an oil drop from the timing chain cover that is harmless but costs a lot to fix.
When I bought my RX330 I was 48 years-old. Today at 63 I still have that car. Used and sometimes abused (it was driven also by two teenagers) the RX330 saw three more cars failing - an Audi A4 and two BMW 320. According to the VIN this Lexus was built in Japan. Today, at 178,000 miles this SUV is still going strong and its reliability is beyond any expectation. The quality in terms of design and material is worth every single penny I have paid.
I’m 21 got it for a graduation present after high school been driving it through college. It’s black with brown leather and I get so many compliments I guess people don’t expect someone my age to be driving it, but overall I love it after 3 years in school saving up for a newer Rx350 2014
I had one for 14 years---Scotty's comment is spot on (high resell value and is very popular)...For 14 years, it needed ONLY 3 semi-major repairs. It is more spacious than my now 2010 RX450h. It rides so smoothly that my kids fall asleep in almost every ride.
I've got a 2004 with over 340,000 miles. It's got some issues and occasionally makes some worrisome noises but it never stops. Works pretty good as a snow car to! And yes it's quite comfortable
Bapo Rapo nope. I know mine is front wheel drive and came with a towing package but I never got the hitch put on it because I never needed it. I think most crossovers have about a 3500 pound towing capacity other than maybe a Ford Explorer or Dodge Durango
@@eleanormassaro5195 the Explorer and the Durango arent crossovers, they're actual SUVs - full frame, 4wd instead of awd, rwd instead of fwd on road etc. Both are considered midsized SUVs, compared to something like my 3/4 ton Suburban, which is much bigger, heavier (approx 6000 lbs) with a much highrr towing capacity(10k lbs). Honestly though, the RX350 is much better suited to the role of "daily driver, including snow days," that can seat 4 adults comfortably) than my junior "Canyonero" - better mpg, easier to find parking places etc.
My RX 450h is just as good 28 mph, 188k miles very comfortable and quiet. I keep asking my mechanic what's well wrong with it? "Nothing" "it has a stout motor". I did replace struts it did help. Great car!
Watching this video from Cambridge Ontario, about 6 miles away from the factory this Lexus was made in. Thanks for the Cambridge Ontario shout out Scotty!
@@ynotttt Great so far. Paid $22k with 65k miles on it. Now it has 72k miles. Have done a few big trips with it already (3-7 hours) and it was very relaxing and comfortable to drive. Good luck with your search! Be sure to look at the car's history and get it checked by a mechanic you trust before buying.
@@503945158 Regular maintenance and fluid changes. Our biggest issue (though its not something I'm too worried about given the fact that the car was given to us for free) is that its jerky when applying throttle after decelerating. I'm thinking its fuel injection related as the transmission fluid looks great.
@@AccGrad2012 I had same issue with jerking thought maybe was transmission related. But I changed transfer case and rear differential fluid and it makes a big difference. Jerk has almost disappeared
Damn it Scotty, why did you have to do this. These cars already have insanely high value retention, and getting one with low miles is a nightmare. Scotty is now officially controlling the used car market ;)
I have a 2008 Lexus RX 350. I bought it last year with only 84k on it and now it has 97k on it and I love it! 12 year old vehicle with under 100k miles mint! Mines was made in Japan because of the unique color brandy wine
For those who don't know this already.. The TOYOTA Venza is the same vehicle as the LEXUS, with only minor variations. The are differences in the interior (radio, center console, dash lay out) and exterior differences as the rear lights and front lights and grill, bumper are different. Mechanically they are the same. A Venza can be bought for less than the LEXUS, but basically the same car.
I've got a 2016 RX350 (the 1st year of the 4th generation) and Scotty is correct. These things are super comfortable, luxurious and ultra reliable. Still made in Canada. I've now owned 3 Lexus vehicles and all have been amazing!
Have a 2010 Lexus RX350 and I love it. Only thing you gotta look out for is the oil cooler hose breaks around 135,000 miles. Recently had that happen to me.
My 2009 just broke, hopefully I didn't total the engine. Man there needs to be more publicity about changing this out. Its not even that crazy of a job.
😂 No lie I have an ES 350 and when I take it to Lexus in New York for service, and basically it's just oil changes; the mechanics are sitting around doing nothing. No lie. When I drive up they run to me because they are so bored.
I have a 1999 RX300 with 170K miles, Engine and transmission still great, AC keeps me cool in the summer, upgraded LCD and added BT and backup camera and its like a new car!
Thank for you advise and wisdom . I bought a 2014 Lexus RX 350 yesterday with 83000 miles on the clock . I am planning to have this car for years to come . Thanks so much.
I have a 2008 Rx 350 what a great car 70000 miles o tires and struts Bought a 2017 DONT know which one I like better what great cars Your right on with this Great work
Please note this is one of those cars with a "sealed for life" transmission. If you really want it to last a long long time, you're going to have to change its transmission oil and filter every now and then (some dealers refuse to do this).
@@DiaperSNiFFER I believe he is saying that. Chain is superior and the 350 has the chain. Actually, I think the layer models of the 330 had the 3.5 with chain as well.
Thanks for the video Scotty. I actually did some research and traded in my 2013 Subaru Forester for a 2009 Lexus RX 350. Took a tiny hit on the tech but man what a jump in quality, ride and road noise. Much nicer car. Another bonus is that this model shares parts with the GS, so there are lots of spare parts out there. My alternator went out and I bought a salvaged OEM GS alternator for $60. Whole repair cost me under $300.
i did the same.. traded my '11 Forester 2.5x base manual (141kishh miles) to a 2007 RX350 with 87k and NEVER looked back!.. these cars are solid!.. Can't even compare Subies to it.
We have a 2009 RX350 that we bought with 56,000 miles on it and, now that it's just over 100,000 miles, it has been totally reliable. Everything that Scotty detailed is been our experience in every way. Don't even want a newer car...since this baby will run forever!
there was a design flaw on 07-10 that leaks the oil in seconds (its called the oil cooler line and vvtt-i oil line) change it before the rubber parts starts to leak
I bought a used one 2007 Lexus rx350 with 75000 miles for 3500 dollars and man she run sweet and so comfortable. That was 2 years ago now she have 125 thousand miles still run sweet have no problems
Scotty, you're right. The RX Lexus SUV is a great car. My wife and I bought a 2004 RX330 15 years ago that was one year old with 20k miles and now has 151,000 trouble free miles. Also, easy to work on.
Still loving my 2009 RX350 with 66k miles...absolutely wonderful SUV. I put in an aftermarket Apple Carplay/Android Auto head unit and BOOM, modern car.
I have a 2002 RX w/251k miles. It still runs pretty good. It has a few quirks, but, it's good for my beach car. Also, I have a 2012 RX350 with 150k miles. Runs and rides like a dream. Great cars.
I've always liked The Lexus RX's, i liked the first generation 1997-2004 Lexus RX300s. As a kid if you owned a Lexus RX300, or a Lexus LS400, everyone thought you were a baller and royalty if you owned any of these cars. The RX300 was very ahead of it's time
Awesome. I'm looking at a 2007 RX350 today, 167k miles 1 owner, 2WD model. I want all wheel drive obviously but it's not a deal breaker for me. is yours AWD?
I been listening to Scotty for two years. Today I followed his advice and purchased a 2015 Lexus Rx 350 , I absolutely love it. Thanks Scotty for all your input and reviews.. All the best to you and many subscribers. Cheers buddy

Hi Alex I really love this Lexus rx330 but my fear is fuel consumption. What do you think ?
These RX350's are solid cars, no doubt! My wife has a 2009 with 137,000 miles. The only major things I've changed were tires, brakes, a battery and an O2 sensor. These will run forever!

Aquaman Dude nice. I traded my ford into the Toyota dealership. Ahaha
We have a 2007 RX400h with 262,000km on it. Still runs great. Original hybrid battery. Love this car.
Rx350 vs 400h witch one is better ?? Instead of fuel consumption. How about CVT in 400h ??
It’s known fact and Scotty will confirm, RX 450h will have a few advantages over Rx 350, first of all instead of getting combine 24/25 mpg, 400h will give you combine city/hwy - 30mpg. The eCVT of 450h is a better transmission than CVT on lower RX models. And third you can find 450h even more reliable for about the same asking price like RX 350 and have top loaded RX instead. Good luck!

Thanks for your comment, I'm thinking of buying one

I may buy one tomorrow with 80k KM.. it's a AWD
Do you still have it?

Hi why the car battery dies if you don't drive it
@@janicesylvester5929 Hi Janice, I know you were probably hoping for a reply from Scotty, but I will give you a reply.
@@janicesylvester5929 I agree. Let me know how you make out Janice.

(We had an 03 MB M350 for several years before we had an accident in that car, otherwise I'd have kept it.) Just bought a 2009 for my wife about 6 months ago and we are loving it! It’s everything Scotty said it is in the video. I avoided the 2007s because some of them have an oil drop from the timing chain cover that is harmless but costs a lot to fix.
