This cover is so underrated. When I got their EP and realized THIS was the Dreams they were covering, I was so excited (this song came out when I was in middle school and I loved it ever since). And then they made it SO BEAUTIFUL I probably cried. Matt's base especially gave me life. Thank you for reviewing.
It’s amazing the fullness of harmony when they add Kevin’s tenor to the mix (when he’s not beat boxing)! Adding him also allows Mitch to do his marvelous floating above & around the melody without losing the tenor line. While I love Kevin’s beatboxing, cello, etc, etc,….5 part harmony every once in a while is pretty darn amazing! I think this is one of their pandemic isolation videos? Great reaction, Salvo 😊

This was one of the songs from their "At Home" EP Album that was sort of a special project when everyone was in lockdown. They recorded their vocals and did the videos separately from home and their production crew edited it all together into the masterpiece you see here. That whole album is amazing, one of my favorites. The other songs on it are "Blinding Lights", "When the Party's Over", "Break My Heart", "Cologne", and "Home" (a medley of songs relating to being at, or heading, home).

Maybe not an upgrade but it is as good as. They are amazing as always. This was from their Home EP that they recorded and did videos from their homes when the country was locked down in 2020. Their tour was cancelled so they decided to keep making music anyway. They kept many a Pentaholic sane that Spring/Summer with new music and videos. It gave me something to look forward to after working 12 hours (at least) a day for weeks while running a grocery store.
Glad you chose to do this one! It's one of my favs on that EP. Anytime Kevin is singing with them (when there is no beat) it just adds that extra element to the sound & makes it that much richer. Gorgeous!!!

First- “divine” is a perfect adjective for this/them (means of/from God), Second- the lyric “I want more” expresses my feelings about PTX (and reactions to them 😜), Third- I would never turn down an opportunity to listen to them again, and Fourth- Can You Feel the Love Tonight? is an awesome cover. 😁💜
This is one of my favorite songs from PTX. Have you listened yet to their cover of "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys? It's another one that doesn't get enough attention, in my opinion. Great reaction!
This is one of the videos where I feel like the production made each voice just a touch louder when that person was on screen. I agree, I could pick out each voice here more than usual. Such a heartwarming song and arrangement.

As a huge ass PTXaholic, I think Cranberries version is better. Not to take away the mastery of this, but Delores's voice is so ethereal. The one person that stands out to me in this is Matt. Put y'alls headphones on. He is so, so good.

I love both of them but this song of Cranberries is absolutely fantastic, Dolores was so talent, for me this is the type of song that Pentatonix make great cover, the best cover of the song, but the original is time less classic, like Bohemian Rhapsody, Ptx version is the best cover and I love it, I Love this song so much and new that Ptx would do it great! Sometimes I believe they are singing and breathing life back into a song that the original was really really good. They make it their own, and you really are remembering how you felt when you heard it before. And sometimes it's such a contrast that it seems better when PTX does it. But you still have that spark of memory lane and when you heard it before. That's not with all songs but you know some I remember this song and I loved it back then. There's just such beautiful people with beautiful voices. It had to be hard for them to find Matt to fill Avi's place. I'm really not sure if they could do that with anybody else in the group. With Avi they didn't use him to his potential I don't think, so the transition seem like it was a little smoother, I don't see that with the other four being that easy to fill their shoes. Or if they even could. I do miss Avi, I wait to hear his voice and then I remember it's not him.

While the video is beautiful, this is one of those songs that you just wanna close your eyes and just enjoy the whole thing. One of my favorites.
