Enjoyed the video very much. Two things kept me from buying a 2017 Fit EX last year: the lack of the Honda Sensing System and the ridiculously low armrest that left it unusable for me. Was the armrest usable in the models you reviewed?
+Daniel Grewe Thanks! As far as the arm rest is concerned, it is usable though it's certainly not the ideal positioning (since it's pretty low). However, a lot of the rivals don't have one at all so I appreciated it being there.
I just bought a 2018 Honda Fit Sport (Aegean Blue Metallic, 6-spd manual). For what it’s worth, I’ve never (EVER) been happier with a vehicle purchase.
Nice comprehensive review. Very detailed and sensible. A few months ago we bought a Fit EX in Beijing, CN. We moved from Beijing to Yunnan in southwestern China and drove the car more than 3,000 km over 8 days. It was amazingly comfortable, and exceeded my performance expectations over mountains, rough roads, high speed highways, and overall comfort and practicality. Choices are limited here in China, but if I was in the US, this new Sport model has all the extras I'd want and none of the ones I don't want. Smart move Honda on one of the smartest cars around.
Very good job of showing the car and explaining the features without trying to be a comedian or having an ego trip. Just hat I want when shopping for a car.
You do the perfect review. No-nonsense, quiet, rhythmic, just the facts. I very much enjoy your voice and the precision in which you show a car. I bought a 2017 Fit EX-L just two weeks ago and I love it. I am anxious to try the front passenger Magic Seat as I will be needing that height. The side mirrors are manually foldable. The things that sold me on this car were the moonroof, the wheels, and the good backup camera. I also loved the substantial visibility due to windows. I don't care about road noise as my audio is always cranked. I increased the bass and am quite happy with the six speakers. I've owned three new Hondas starting in 2007 with a CR-V then in 2013 a new Civic and now the Fit. I've never been a huge fan of the way the Fit looks but this new for 2017 color Lunar Silver Metallic appeals to me and the price was right! :) Thanks again for your compelling review.
This has always been a great car. I had a 2009 LX 6MT Fit I drove to 235K . Original drive train/clutch , drove like the day I bought it when I gave it away. The "Magic Seats" are "magic", and, with a 6MT, it was fun to drive. I once put a large rocking chair inside my Fit that you would never be able to fit into a sedan, or many small SUV's for that matter. The only place the car suffers is "looks", where the hatchback appearance is lost on most Americans.
I like my mini-minivan 2009 Fit. It is now at 165K now and drives just like on day 1. Changed the brake pads at 100K and tires a few times. Major repairs: 1. spark plug on cylinder 3 needed tightening, 2. the hinge for the handle on the back gate caught rust and sticks. Needs a shot of WD40 now and then. It would be nice to have more gadgets, but as a commuter car it is very good. My mechanic told me the engine and transmission should last for 300K without repairs.
Bought a EX Fit in May. Modern Steel. Obviously not fast but not stupid slow either. Little car but think I could put half my house in it. Feels bigger than it is sitting in it. The magic seats are awesome. Low noise on the freeway, nice interior. Doesn't look or feel like a cheap car. Huge display, all the sensing great sound system. It saw my phone immediately and linked I love this car, deserves to be the highest rated subcompact. Cons, Don't like the adaptive cruise control, and wish my seat went back a couple more clicks. long legs. Not bad though. Highly recommend.
Exactly Mazda seat's goes all the way to the second row. I just got 2seat cusion from Ross and it fixed that problem. Radio sucks but just go to the big box stores. Every thing else is great. Car looks so small but Dam you can do a lot with it. Also plenty of room in those back seats.
They need a base DX line to come back. Honda does not offer a nice lower end practical model without power windows and locks for a more affordable price. A simple (remember "We make it Simple"..?) Under 14k MSRP. Maybe bump the MPGs a solid 4-5. Steel wheels with center cap. Less sound deadening. Simple and drives like any LX without the extras for cheaper.
Wow! Great review! I just traded my Versa for a 2009 Fit Sport and I like it a lot more then the Versa. I love the simplicity and practicality of the Fit!
I bought the EX trim. Was considering Sport trim, but overall the EX is better when it comes to options. This review is helpful and made my purchase much easier.
We had a 2011 honda fit sport. We sold it a year back and bought a 2013 Mazda 3 manual. It was a great car! I had no idea they discontinued the fit sport for awhile but it's good to see they brought it back for the 2018 model year! However, our old one had gray cloth, and we would not have bought it if it had black interior.
From what I understand the LX Fit gets better fuel economy because it doesn’t have the same sound insulation materials that the higher trims have, making it lighter.
Satellite radio should be standard on Sport and above as should the leather steering wheel. It seems strange that you lose that by going “up” to the EX trim
Relax mode isn't properly shown. The combination of the two seats can create a perfectly flat surafce, it's enough forcing the frontseat or lifting the backseat in tall mode and then putting it down again.
When it comes to upholstery, I don't understand the appeal of leather over high quality fabric with stain resistance treatment. Fabric is more comfortable on your clothed as well as your naked or bikini-bottomed behind, and it lasts just as long if not longer. Little details like contrasting-color stitching can be applied to fabric as well as to leather. However as far as steering wheels go - the improved feel of a leather-wrapped steering wheel over the typical urethane steering wheel, is dramatic. That said, you can always buy a leather glove and put it on your urethane wheel yourself, or have someone put it on for you. Stitching it on can be time consuming and If you are inclined to spend a lot of extra time you can even trim it and tuck it under the plastic panels to make it look like original equipment. But the cost of the material itself is not all that much. If you find the skin of slaughtered animals acceptable visually and tactilely, but not conversant with your psychological esthetic, there are steering wheel gloves available made of other materials. You also have a choice of colors - something you are not likely to get from a factory-installed steering wheel glove.
3years late but it really is I just got a LX fit and it reminds me everyday that I didn’t get the EX or EXL also still kinda upset that it doesn’t have it stock with all models considering a company like Nissan did it stock for all Nissan kicks on 2018
The Fit is getting more in shape this year, with updated features, styling and this new trim level! While it's still not the most exciting car, do you think it's a good value? Let us know below!
It is a good value if you compare prices at the msrp level. However you will often get steep discounts on the versa note, yaris, ford fiesta, and the hyundai and kia hatches - especially at the end of model years where the next year has a major changes - while discounts on the Fit are smaller. The Fit and the Ford are the champ as far as steering dynamics go. The Fit and the Kia Soul are the champs in regard to cargo-carrying capacity. The Fit is the champ in regard to passenger space in the rear, however I find the the drivers leg room cramped in the Fit - due to the bump from the fuel tank.
As a previous owner of 3 Honda Civics and a Honda Accord, I now own the exact vehicle that is being shown in the video. I just turned 48,500 miles so I can give you a little true owner satisfaction. I have the CVT with paddles. Have taken it twice from Michigan to South Carolina. Drive combination of freeway and city streets. Average MPG 35-39. Better in summer, yes. I am 6’2 so I am comfortable in it. I have tried the paddle shifters, for fun, USE the CVT! ❤️mine!
Had a 2016 fit and couldnt wait to get rid of it. The ride is super rough. And it is severely underpowered. The only thing i do miss was the side camera.
True, but for me a viable armrest is as important as AC! LOL I thought about an aftermarket one for the 2017 Fit. Thanks for the reply & the video!
brandon caruso oh shut up and go bother others videos related to your delusional self
Never drove the 2017, but the 2018 EX-L that I drove had a disturbingly low armrest. HATE that in cars. It makes no sense.
I just bought a 2018 Honda Fit Sport (Aegean Blue Metallic, 6-spd manual). For what it’s worth, I’ve never (EVER) been happier with a vehicle purchase.
Bass Fern your soo lucky! That's exactly what I want but we can't get the sport in blue here in Canada
That’s seriously the best color in my opinion

An adventure
Very good job of showing the car and explaining the features without trying to be a comedian or having an ego trip. Just hat I want when shopping for a car.
+Zthreve Thanks!
Bought one in 2007(orange)...bought 2018 FIT...Orange Fury. Bought the SPORT again. Best Value. Alberta, Canada.

They newer Fits dont last as long, more problems than the original.

Love how he honked the Mickey Mouse horn right before saying some of the changes makes the car look more aggressive. 🤣🤣

+Dustin Hart Yeah until we reviewed it, I did not comprehend just how practical and spacious it is!
Love this guys voice....great review
Now this is a what you call full review!!
Haha, thanks!
Your review is very thorough! Thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Finally an in-depth look at this car. I'm considering the EX.
Glad we could help! We were very impressed by how versatile it was!
I'd love to see a road test.
We're definitely looking into doing test drives in the future! Stay tuned :)
I bought the EX trim. Was considering Sport trim, but overall the EX is better when it comes to options. This review is helpful and made my purchase much easier.
Glad to hear it was helpful for you! And congrats on your new car!
Great content and very informative. I have been considering the need for more content like this on a dealer to dealer basis.
Andrew Wiest Thanks!

Does it have power seats or manual? That’s one thing keeping me from buying the Fit.

This looks pretty good although to be honest I would prefer the EX interior with the Sport Exterior. Hopefully the 2019 rectifies this one oversight.
great review as always
Thanks!
Great job with the details. Very helpful indeed.
Josh Kelnhofer Thanks! Glad it helped you!
Good complete review

awesome in depth informative video
+Franklin Whitton Thanks!
I have been able to achieve 45 mpg in my 2017 Honda Fit EX.
Jack The Coffee Addict Nice! Is that highway or city driving?
Me to I average 45mpg normally. Even 50mpg but you have to turn off eco
50mph on the highway? 🤣🤣
the volume knob...
Great video!
Thanks! Glad you liked it, Dan!
like my 09 fit but would mine having 15+ fit
The LX gets a bit better gas mileage because it runs on 15 inch wheels instead of the 16 inch wheels like on the Sport, EX, and EX-L.
Does it have a temp gauge ?
Excellent and helpful--o well done
Satellite radio should be standard on Sport and above as should the leather steering wheel. It seems strange that you lose that by going “up” to the EX trim
Relax mode isn't properly shown. The combination of the two seats can create a perfectly flat surafce, it's enough forcing the frontseat or lifting the backseat in tall mode and then putting it down again.
was I the only one that didn't know you could make a S-Class like rear seat in a Honda Fit?? pretty cool
Haha, we didn't either!!
Never understand honda's option list in dropping the leather steering wheel and gear shift on EX models. They did the same with the accord line up

is CarPlay only available on the sport?
No it is on more trims than the Sport
Does it come with those mats?
They were optional for $156. Thanks for tuning in!
I thought you can get Honda Sensing on the EX with manual???
T Sizzle As far as I can tell, it is not an option to add unless you get the EX with CVT. Most brands don't allow auto braking for manual vehicles
This car is on my radar now i want it parked across my door step 👍❤
Between the EX-L, EX, Sport and LX models, is any model bigger than the others?
+Christine Nicole No, they are all the same size wise. Thanks for watching!
Car Confections Thank you so much for the reply :)
When will I be able to buy this car? I will be.
The push start placeholder is an eye sore
3years late but it really is I just got a LX fit and it reminds me everyday that I didn’t get the EX or EXL also still kinda upset that it doesn’t have it stock with all models considering a company like Nissan did it stock for all Nissan kicks on 2018
Good job ,just wish something other than BLACK inside.
Very nice car Honda Fit
HI EVERYONE, Could anybody explain me when he said " sport mode. And shifts change with pedals... But it's A SIMULATION bcz it's CVT" thnx in advance
Thanks.

Looks like my 2016 Honda Fit EX

Meant to Michigan to South Carolina and back, round trip!
I want this to be my brothers first car
I love this car and I don't know why
welcome to blair witch car reviews..
Chad A. Thats not a bad idea actually.
Had a 2016 fit and couldnt wait to get rid of it. The ride is super rough. And it is severely underpowered. The only thing i do miss was the side camera.
VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEMS. LOUD GRIND ON START UP. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE. TRUST ME, I OWN ONE.
Will G Shouldn't you be covered by warranty?
That's bs. It occurs with Crv and civic. 2012 to 2015 2.5 litre engines. No issue with fit and actuator

Easily the most boring car Honda ever made.
I wish Honda would hire better exterior design engineers, this car is UGLY!
