    my next vehicle. perfect for my needs. not looking for a race car but rather something with great fuel economy, small footprint, updated technology, and good cargo options at a great price.
    not surprised at all that this bombed in the US. this car isn't a status symbol vehicle, it's a tool that gets the job done. that's what honda was aiming for with this.

      I have driven a few rentals on road trips to determine my next car. One aspect is the drivers seat. It must be comfortable to sit in while on long road trips. The Honda drivers seats are the most comfortable for me. I still have my 2010 Honda Fit Sport. It is already paid off. I use it as a commuter/road trip car. I thought about trading it in for a newer car. But heard they have discontinued the Fits. And with gas prices rising, I’d better stick with my Fit Sport for now.

    Got the 2020 version and man it was like a warzone at our local dealer since it was alot of people throwing a fit over the Honda Fits left in the dealer. 4 people wanted the last EX model and I was lucky that I snatched the last grey model over someone with a bad credit score. An incredible upgrade from my old car. I can hardly wait to drive it again.

    The econ button prevents you from doing fast acceleration. You can get the same fuel economy without pressing the econ button, if you limit your tendency to want to accelerate. When the traffic light turns green, don't hop away as quickly as possible. The econ button is great in stop and go traffic. If the car is stopped, and then the car ahead of you moves ahead 10 feet, the Fit won't "lurch" ahead and smack the car ahead of you, when you step on the accelerator. Otherwise it doesn't seem very helpful. When stopped at a traffic light, it reduces the amount of cool air coming from the air conditioner. This is awful, because the AC is underpowered to begin with. The care will immediately start to feel warmer!

  • @soilmanted

    I would add 2 things. The load height for the rear hatch is lower than most cars. Makes things easier for those of us who don't have lots of muscles. The other thing is that despite the apparent large size of the hatch area, with the rear seats folded down, it doesn't have a large foot print for large objects. Much of the cubic foot spec is due to the HEIGHT of the hatch area. For example I can't fit in a standard size folding table, 60 inches by 30 inches, even if the front seats are pushed fairly far forward. It is just about 2 or 3 inches too short. This is annoying because 60 x 30 seems to be a standard size, in the US, for lots of furniture.

    • @horseswind6922
      @horseswind6922 4 года назад

      ummm drop the front passenger seat forward and the table will fit

    • @soilmanted
      @soilmanted 4 года назад

      @@horseswind6922 Nope. Still won't fit. The driver's seat will prevent the table from going all the way in, even if it is moved all the way forward. Because it is 30 inches wide, the left side (in a Fit with drivers seat on the left side) of the table will hit the back of the driver's seat. Something that is about 60 inches long and 20 inches wide will fit, but something 30 inches wide.

Not the most expensive, just the best. Then came the 15 model year and I was not impressed with Mexico's assembly. Then a miracle, cuz as demand rose significantly in 2016 I was able to buy one (Milano Red) that was assembled in Japan. BIG diff in the build quality, fit and finish etc. Like a whole different car. Higher center of gravity meaning it can roll over easier than a mid-size/Full-size sedan and the space most of the time is clutter with bulk. Also those thing are fucking huge and takes up LOTS of space. Worse of all, one of the modern SUV's is FWD, have a CVT, and paired up with an I3 engine. Whoever though of that needs to be instantly terminated from their position. NOW.

    The fact that Honda never gave us a hybrid drive train on this model is a crime against humanity. Sure SUV drivers would never go for a Fit but hypermilers would have been all over it. Another lost opportunity by brain-dead auto manufacturers.

    Best car I've ever owned and sad to hear they have decided $$$$ is more important than the safety record and efficiency of this vehicle. Maybe if more Americans were actually fit they'd fit in a fit. Guess the USA needs big a$$ cars for all the fatties in the family. Shame. I still have mine and won't be forced into their lame hrv.

      It's enough to merge onto a limited access highway without forcing too many cars that are already on the highway, to move left, or slow down to let you in. More than adequate to go from 60 mp to 90 mph, in 3 or 4 seconds, in order to pass slow-moving vehicles on the highway.
