Fun Fact the Ratchet and Clank movie failure is the reason the Sly cooper movie was cancelled
Honestly a lot of people are upset but it's good we never got it. The ratchet and clank movie was unbelievably boring, no need to ruin Sly too.
And even the worst part is that they already had so much source material for this film and even ratchet himself had more of a cocky personality before he started to develop and never gave a Dam in the frist game until he develop

And they could have made him a loveble cocky guy who at the start doesn't care until his adventure with clank that taught him alot and would lead to the ratchet from today
Still hurtss me to do this day. But maybe it was for the best that it didnt happen. Sure, they got the actual VA's but...the characters looked fucking UGLY. Murray looked AWFUL.

I had never heard that they made an AC movie and the minute he said the plot I was like…”Oh, that’s just 2 to a T.”
So I watched it.
I was kinda impressed that it is pretty much 2 without a whole lotta random bullshit. Still not a great movie but not terrible really.
That sounds remarkably similar to how the Prince of Persia film turned out. Essentially replicating the major plot points from Sands of Time and throwing its own weird flair in there and doing neither very well.

I thought it was still in the making, after having only been announced about a year ago.
As a person who has played the assassins creeds games. Yes that is the plot of the first assassins creed game. They only get crazier from their. In the second one you fight the pope and learn about ancient alien civilizations in the later ones.
Also the clash between in and out of the Animus is very much present in the games.

I mean it was so easy to get right from the beginning but studios thought completely changing the narrative was the way to go for so long. Millions of dollars and they couldn’t figure out the games were popular for what they were. Smh 😂

Part of me thinks that they have no faith in drawing in a non-video game player crowd and the fan-base that plays the games are just the minority that won’t make them enough money so add new things other modern movie watchers might like.

It honestly is one of my favorite video game movies.
The director said he only did it for the money he said so which i find pretty funny later they make fun of him in one of the games
Also the actor that played postal dude was in paradise lost as a faction leader. And you can select his voice in postal 4.
He made all of his movies to not pay taxes, it couldn't been that good

I can't wait for the part in the FNAF movie where the security guard goes, "Looks like I'll have to spend Five Nights At Freddy's" and then Freddys all over the pizzeria, truly one of the moments of all time.
I might get hated here, but... I think the movie looks promising. Yeah, the eyes weren't the best choice, but the set pieces and the overall design for the animatronics looks like they have pasion behind it.

Honestly, the first Silent Hill movie was probably one of the best videogame adaptations for it's time. The director Christoph Gans was ACTUALLY a fan of the games. The movie actually managed to capture the game's atmosphere by using similar camera work and even using Akira Yamoaka's music and sound design from the games.
The story does leave a bit to be desired tho, mainly how the monsters and the cult were handled.
Also, Sean Bean's character and sub plot didn't even EXIST originally, it was added because the studio (and im not joking) complained that there weren't any men in the movie

And the icing on the cake? Probably the only movie Sean Bean lives.
Too bad Chrisopher Gans is a raging misandrist who thinks a father would never dare enough about his own children to go through literal Hell to get them back. Seriously, fuck both the "Silent Hill" movies and fuck Christopher Gans.

I noticed that the Ratchet and Clank movie, 90% of it is cutscenes from the game, except the bits in the game which weren't cutscenes.
So this movie is mostly a all cutscenes video

Movie adapted video-games tend to release earlier before the movies. Which is a pretty stupid thing to do because it spoils and ruins the point of watching the movie.
The best thing about the angry bird is hearing “Never gonna give you up,” when Mighty Eagle flys. You can nvr go wrong with that song😂

Best thing now is the fact that the FNAF movie is actually quite great. Scott Cawthon managed to give the fans what they want and while critics may dislike it, the movie has succeeded in what it set out to be for fans.
It’s like a Transformers movie. It’s bad but fun as hell.

I really dont understand the logic of some of these creators in trying to not make a movie like a videogame...based off a property that is a videogame.
That's the problem with blockbusters. To appeal to the fans of the game isn't enough, they need to appeal to people who doesn't know the difference between an arcade and a console too... the budgets are so massive nowadays they pretty much need half of the planet to see the movie on the opening weekend to break even

I think the way to describe the ratchet and clank movie is "A perfectly functional movie to demonstrate the appeal of the characters to a new audience that is also extremely uninteresting and fails to actually appeal those characters to anyone."

Honestly I really enjoyed the Sonic movies at first but after seeing the Mario movie they're kinda trash in comparison (in my opinion)

Fun fact: There was another character from Street Fighter name Gen that was also in Legends of Chun-li who was played by none other than Robin Shou who also was in Mortal Kombat & Mortal Kombat Annhilation. He also appeared in another fighting game movie called Dead or Alive cast as 1 of the pirates which makes Robin the only actor to appear in 3 different fighting game movies.

On the other hand since you did say positive things about Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) I would've been interested in hearing your take on that 2006 movie. Also, the last 2 pics: Kristin Kreuk, Chris Klein, Tara Reid? Telling in hindsight, they should've stuck to their wheelhouse of (romantic / road trip) comedies, that's where all 3 of them shine! The Ratchet movie isn't even horrible imo, it was just... mediocre. Wanted to retell the first game's story but didn't have as much charm. Least we had a fun game out of it, RaC was always a fun series. Found it funny that despite this push for a reintroduction/reimagining of the series they did their next game literally just continued the storyline set after Into the Nexus instead, dimensional shenanigans and all (well... after two Spider-Man games of course)
So they essentially pulled a Capcom and debooted the series back to its roots

I remember that the way I found out ratchet and clank was a video game was through the movie. I found out that it was a video game when I bought the visual guide to the film and saw all this stuff that I didn’t see in the movie and to this day I haven’t played it.

The reason for the rachet and clank movie failed so bad is because its just the cutscenes from the 2016 game with a few more scenes added to make the story fit a bit more, thats why there isnt that much good action/ guns.
I think the doom movie from 2004 was amazing to me because writing and acting

He said he would expect Ratchet and Clank to get a live action movie and was surprised that it was animated.
But, nothing in the game is real, and none of the characters are human. Animated was the only way to go. Even if you tried to make things super detailed and realistic looking, it'll still have to be a mostly animated movie.
I have never heard of ratchet and clank the video games before, and when i watched the movie as a kid i loved it and still do, and after like a few months i found out it was a game originally, and i got thrown into a rabbit hole of ratchet and clank and sly cooper games, the movie, in my personal opinion, is great, the humour is great and the animation is pleasant and comforting in a way

I've played about half of the assassin's creed games, and Adam's oversimplification was more accurate than I'd like to admit, at least with the modern day sections. I still love the games and would still recommend them (at least the earlier ones), but yeah that summary is still partially correct. Also I haven't seen the Assassin's Creed Movie, but it looks like something that would make me wanna get Thanos snapped in the middle of watching it.

Also 1:51 it's not a reboot game. It's just a movie tie in game to go along with the movie. Everything that happens in the older games still happened. Because rift apart picks up afew years after the events of into the nexus

The assassins creed movie’s thing with the Animus and time travel stuff is actually a thing in the games, so it’s not a budgetary thing. I don’t play the games, but I tried assassins creed 2 since it was cheap online, and it is a thing there too. I did watch the movie in cinemas and I gotta say, I forgot everything seconds after leaving the theatre.

Probably the most annoying part of the Silent Hill movies, is their missuse of the monsters.
For those who don't know, the monsters are representations of the character's psychological state and are therefor experienced differently for everyone in the town. There are even instances of characters who don't see the monsters at all.
Pyramid head and the Nurses were exclusive to James Sunderland in SH2, so it made no sense for them to be in the movies.
This also resulted in these monsters to be overpopularized, to the point where they were also featured in games that they weren't supposed to be in.

Resident Evil Atherlife actually had someone die onset and the stunt double of the main actress for a motorcycle sequence lost her arm when a crane didn't move out of the way. Two lives ruined, one permanently, for a terrible film series.
I really want Bolt to talk about good video game adaptations now, he could make a great vid about Last of us, Castlevania, the Persona 3 movies, the persona 4 anime, Arcane, the Cuphead show, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, etc. (if I missed any I’ll edit them in if I remember them)

it's great to finally know somebody else who enjoys the doom movie as much as i do. i watched it in cinemas when it came out (i was 7) that first person scene near the end was 10/10

the Assassin's Creed movies plot is actually very similar to the games, however the movies messed a lot of things up. in the games the animus is simply a machine that views the genetic memories of a person and it looks like a chair. also the Apple of Eden doesn't eradicate violence, it controls the human mind and body so the Templars want to eliminate free will in order to achieve peace. The Assassins believe free will is necessary in order to achieve peace so naturally they oppose the templars. basically its a battle between Chaos (Assassin's) and Order (Templars). The Templars dont see their actions as evil but necessary for the greater good
