A magnificent recital! Brilliant playing by Tim Ravalde on this beautiful English cathedral organ and fabulous videography to add to the viewing and listening pleasure: bravo! (Tim suggests that the melody in Whitlock's 'Folk Tune' is original to the composer. He may be right . . . but I have seen a source noting how "The Five Short Pieces" dating from 1929 are dedicated to James Peter Burney, who was a Rochester chorister with Whitlock. Adrian Self, from 'The Cumbrian Society of Organists' claimed in 2017 that the 'Folk Tune' is an obvious reworking of Vaughan Williams’s ‘Springtime of the Year’ from his Five English Folk Songs of 1913.)
🇧🇷 from Brazil I listened this video four times. This organist is a phenomenon. I was very impressed. Great work! I liked so much, Nice moment to see he playing. The music is clean, clear, excellent quality. ☛I want to study with Tim Ravald.
Lovely recital Timothy. Really enjoyed the Bach piece. Thank you Richard for a great video. The organ and pipes are beautiful as well as the cathedral.
What a wonderful recital. Congratulations Tim and Richard. As an aside I have watched nearly 50 recitals on this channel given by Richard and his guests. I simply have enjoyed each one with its individual contribution. Well done to all. Blessings from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thank you for sharing your God given talent!! and allowing many to have the opportunity to listen to an organ concert from the comfort of their home, especially those who live in distant lands. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
What a lovely and varied program! Well-performed, and the videography was stellar! I really feel like I've been to the cathedral! It was fascinating to see all of the trackers moving as Tim played.
Just now streaming what I missed due to arriving late (shocker, I know). Absolutely wonderful performance on such a beautiful, tonally colorful instrument. Thank you.
Thank you Tim Ravalde. lovely program and playing. Your "Petrus" was outstanding, btw. Thank you Richard for all the drone video and perfect visuals of the playing. Since I've never been to Chichester, it gave a sense of place, and thanks especially for showing the commemorative places of Thomas Weelkes. beautiful audio recording as always. No easy task to record a pipe organ, or to play one, so bravo to you both.
Lovely! Great Sunday morning listening, thank you Timothy and of course, thank you as ever to Richard. You can reach the world with BiS, I am in Norway.
What a beautiful and wonderful performance and video! I am moved by your performance! Especially your foot technique is really cool! thank you! Tim & Richard 😀😀😀🍂🍂🍂💕💕💕
Wonderful, amazing recital! This organ is very well-tempered and thank you, Tim and Richard for doing what you do. I just wish my father was still alive to hear and see your astounding musical and technological presentations on the King of Instruments!
There are not enough superlatives for this - congratulations to Tim on his amazing performance - truly a keeper. Richard your audio capture, videography and editing are amazing - from strength to strength!!
Evening Tim, thank you for your lovely organ recital, I've enjoyed it very much & you've played the last piece which you've written fantastic well done. Also thanks to Richard for all your hard work in making it possible for this recital. Cape Town South Africa
Wow! This is truly exceptional in every way. Not only is the performance breathtakingly good, but the recording and mixing is inspirational. Congratulations to you Tim and Richard. I was blown away by your own toccata and fugue; such a simple plainsong motiv but huge development of the ideas and beautifully shaped in its direction and range of textural interest. I’m in awe!
I love how every one of these recitals seems better than the last! Richard, I have no doubt this is due to your dedication to constant improvement. The audio especially seemed very 'alive' and was noticeable from the first notes. Thank you, Richard and Tim, for bringing us this wonderful organ and performance.
This was phenomenal. Thank you Tim for an excellent Organ recital from Chichester, it was sublime. Thank you for your hard work for recording this for us Richard - it's greatly appreciated as always :)
Superbly skilful and sensitive performance. Another triumph for BIS. Thank you. Have really enjoyed Tu es Petrus several times now - please keep all the remaining notes!!!!!
A superb concert and loved the self-effacing and honest commentary preceding Tim’s own composition … which was stunning both in creation and playing. Mine would be that ‘blank sheet of paper’ and the chancel would be strewn with dropped notes! Bravo and thank you.
I have come to this late. Beautifully programmed, a study in technique. Thank you Tim especially for your grand, final work, and Richard for ALL that you do.
Thankyou Tim for such a brilliant recital. We enjoyed it very much, especially your own composition. Please don’t take any notes out ! Come back soon. Thankyou also Richard for putting it all together. Brilliant photography. Was it actually your drone that took those really high shots. Looking forward to VC tomorrow. Trevor and Jan Canewdon, Essex.👏👏👏👏👏
I love the way he plays the 537 fugue. An energetic concerto feel, it bobs along like a Brandenberg. In stark contrast to typical English cathedral-style performance with swell to mixture box half closed coupled to a miserable diapason or two on the great and a nasty duplexed reed on the pedal and all legatissimo with the odd detached note thrown in. This is a cut above the rest.
Richard I didn't see the great potential thar Tim has a great organist for some reason he kept all his talent under wraps but he still did a good job tonight
The recital is good, but audio is bad for the TV. Regardless of how loud the TV volume is set, excessive reverb is not conveyed properly as unnecessary speaker vibration even if the music is soft and TV is at low volume.

Brilliant program ,brilliantly performed, musicality throughout ,Thank you so much Richard.
The 537 fugue tempo is impeccable 😎
A superb recital, so musically performed and very much enhanced by the excellent filming.

👍 Wunderbare sound, really in the upper High end. :) tack
Strange that Thomas Weelkes was credited in the visuals but not in the program. Another excellent production.
WONDERFUL PLAYING ON A WONDERFUL ORGAN.
I have come to this late. Beautifully programmed, a study in technique. Thank you Tim especially for your grand, final work, and Richard for ALL that you do.

Awesome recital
Absolutely amazing recital Tim well done.
Thank you Tim for your wonderful music. Also for your inspiration shown to myself and others in playing the organ.
Are the coloured markers on the pedalboard for teaching purposes? I’ve never seen them anywhere else!

Timothy is a fabulous player
Long draw drawstops!! More later!
Richard I didn't see the great potential thar Tim has a great organist for some reason he kept all his talent under wraps but he still did a good job tonight
I cannot agree with you. Tim is clearly a gifted 'craftsman' and for me his talent shines through and his potential manifest.
The recital is good, but audio is bad for the TV. Regardless of how loud the TV volume is set, excessive reverb is not conveyed properly as unnecessary speaker vibration even if the music is soft and TV is at low volume.
