Just did this in order to use my GCC on steam but uhm... after replacing the driver, the game I wanted to play didn't recognize any input on the controller. I wasn't exactly using the Wii U original GCC adapter but the one that was sold with Smash Ultimate on the switch. Does that make any difference? I found guides that are much more in-depth (and "more complicated") using a prog called vJoy and x360ce (in order to play anything with a GCC that's playable with an X-Box360 controller). But I would like to know what exactly I need for this...
This method (using Zadig to use the WinUSB or libusb driver) only works for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and the Dolphin emulator, and is not meant for most games, or for Steam.
@@Formedras thats bullshit. why wouldn't it just install the same drivers as the mayflash?
@@Lukedub If you're talking about the Mayflash's PC mode drivers, because THERE IS NO PC MODE on the official adapter.
If you're talking about the Wii U mode, it does. Steam doesn't see WinUSB/libusb. Nick All-Star Brawl DOES, but it seems to use the older implementation that Dolphin had, where the official adapter or the Mayflash will work, but other adapters (like the Nyko) might not.
i'm trying to use the nintendo switch gcn adapter on my pc to play Rivals of Aether. . . but of course, nada. . . thanks nintendo
@@Highstar7331 Rivals of Aether unfortunately doesn't directly support the GameCube controller adapter like Nick Brawl does. You have to install some intermediate software (such as "GameCube USB Adapter Driver") to get it working. And doing that prevents Nick Brawl and Dolphin from working with the adapter.
Maybe someday someone will make a driver that works with ViGEm or its eventual successor, and can be disabled in order for Dolphin to work properly.

yo theres no wup 028, do u know why, theres only GameCube Controller Adapter, is that the same thing
Yes it is the exact same. WUP-028 is Nintendo's and Mayflashes. Nintendo Gamecube Adapter is the generic name but will still work.

doesn't dolphin require you to use zadig to use it anyway?
@@TeamTeddy666 as far as I remember, it was just plug and play. But I setup my dolphin with the adapter shortly before smash ultimate released, so I could be wrong.
This will half answer your question, but after I installed the driver I checked to see if the controller still worked on my switch, and it does. So use that knowledge as some insurance
@@Ryoogah1 the drivers from your pc stay on your pc and the drivers on your switch are separate. Thats the whole reason for zadig because at some poing windows stopped recognizing the base PC driver installation and we need to edit it in order to work with the OS

It means it's likely a Wii U adapter so you use Zadig

it sounds like both of you sauced your mouse driver instead of installing it to WUP-028 (which is the adapter itself). not sure how to fix that besides a fresh install of windows. have either of you tried using a different mouse? try a budget wireless mouse and see if that works, then you can manually reinstall the mouse drivers
@@MR-zt1hh I got it fixed a little after I made the comment, used a different mouse and that worked and then a little later I reset the computer to a previous save state and it refreshed everything.

the installation aborted cuz it took too long now im just fucked
ruined my good keyborde before raid had to dig out something barely useable thats busted to all hell to do anything, nothing i try fixes it, couldn't use a restore point, uninstalling drivers and letting them come back when its replugged, nothing. how the hell do i reverse what zadig did
