It is awful that Keir has chosen to play an autistic person just to further his career. Keir is not autistic, he is not someone who has the challenges in life that real autistic people do. Keir should be a shamed of himself for using real people with autism to gain the notoriety he hasn't from everything else he has tried. If he wants real notoriety that have him play the gay man who has cerebral palsy it's on Netflix too and then let's see how talented he is.

He was so convincing, it was amazing. He got the little details like twitching and not participating in eye contact but most importantly, he played the role without making it insensitive. I was amazed.

By far this show truly does depict Autism. I watched the past 2 seasons and can relate to every episode. I have a child with Autism and he truly is an incredible actor...

When I read your first 2 sentences I was like "wow, how the fuck can you relate to this awful, harmful and extremely inaccurate show and character (100% walking stereotypes) that makes us all look like stupid, misogynistic, robotic, deeply selfish and insensitive assholes who just break into people's houses, can't know any better, etc" and then I saw your last sentence. -_-
If you are not autistic yourself, you don't get to tell for us what is and isn't a good representation of autism. You don't know, your comment is proof of that.
This character even is, by moments, the exact opposite of autism, and they wrongfully use it as exemples of "autistic behaviors", which is pretty ironical for a show trying to portray us. --'

@@mrslordi92 I have a friends who are autistic and one of them is so similar to the character Sam. I believe that there are so many different people and behaviorisms on the spectrum that you couldn't represent a whole community with one character. But this character does represent a part of it

@@mrslordi92 also I didn't see Sam the way you portrayed him to be, he's super smart, doesn't have a lot experience with women yes but he's not misogynistic wtf, he's not selfish or insensitive also, it was actually mentioned in the show that right after he notices that someones sad or sth he actually feels a lot of empathy. It's just hard for him to read people's faces and emotions
never been so hooked to a show, his acting was magnificent and it shows how well he prepared himself for this role

i just love how his character stays the same through out the seasons and doesn’t ever change his personality and the way he talks. he’s a really good actor.

This series was phenomenal!! Was so beautiful to see this narrative on the big screen. Our eldest has asd and this was such a wonderful pathway to hope & connection 💜
Hope he gets the recognition he deserves for this role. He played it with such deft precision and care you can tell he worked his butt off nailing the idiosyncrasies.
With Sam's role alone, Keir has become one of my favorite actors period. He took his role & ran with it in the best way possible. I really feel apart of Sam's life lol, & am glad to be 💪🏾

I understood what he was asking but I thought they got it spot on being autistic myself. I think that laughing with Sam rather than laughing at Sam is very different. I think most people that would whacked this would identify and care about all the characters. I thought Kier you were brilliant in this as all the cast were. Again as an autistic adult I really enjoyed watching this with my wife. I really hope you can continue the series because there is a lot of autistic people out there (me included) that found this really cool to watch and showing the world that autistic people are ok to be around and should be valued but also others can learn what we find difficult in a entertaining format. Thank you for this series it was brilliant. 😎
Specifically he is just amazing on this show; the absolute by far best but that being said generally the entire show is wall to wall excellent; side stories great too & never gets boring.

He does such a good job at playing Sam I love the show and his character. I feel like he makes Sam seem endearing. Sam obviously cares about others but he just shows it in his own way just like people with Autism do.

obviously everyone who has autism is different but I feel like this show captured autism really accurately ya know? As someone w autism I actually teared up watching a lot of the episodes because of how much I related to Sam and the shit that he was going through. The time and effort the team put into this is insane; like they did it right: got experts and consultants and allowed Keir to get advice along the way. Also Keir’s consistency throughout the series was crazy, like I think even actors playing neurotypical roles even find it hard to play a character the same all the way through a series. Such a great show
I think the way he represents people with ASD and Aspergers through his acting is wonderful and how loving people with ASD can be 🙂.
