Toka 🐘❤🙏. Because of these 3 elephants leaving a mark on my heart i follow Herd Orphanage in South Africa! 16 beautiful elephants to watch 💗 and Lek' s park in Thailand of elephants 🐘💞 Both countries really know and understand about these magnificent creatures and share how wonderful they are. Ty Mr. Barker and Ed and the movers. 🙏🇨🇦

I hope other countries or places follow this wonderful movement of getting elephants to safe sanctuaries like this one. They all deserve to be happy and healthy. Without having to workout be someone's entertainment. To be able to live the rest of their lives in peace and to be elephants.

Bob Barker also came out here to Edmonton Alberta with the hopes to free Lucy at the Edmonton Valley zoo. Sadly 😥she is still there living in isolation. My heart totally breaks every day I think of her.
Also it's minus 30 these days so she is kept in her barn .this is criminal
She needs to go to the sanctuary and live free with friends and family of her own kind. 😥😭😢😭

      Banana Rustler
Seems you know elephants! BUT, I suspect Toka is a girl, so it might equally have been, "I need to freshen my makeup before I meet the locals!" In either case, yes they need to be patient. But, the handlers had two more elephants to unload also and it was almost dark. Perhaps you can forgive the handlers - they knew what she was about to find in her habitat and knew the rushing would be forgiven. But omg she is a beauty!

This was such an epic first few steps backwards in to her new life and an absolutely different new future that was further DEPRIVED and DENIED for three years,, by the very people,, who CARED so immensely , that they due diligently couldn't not find shit on this magical place,, yet they cared and loved these three gals.. so much that they DELAYED, this haven for Zoo,Circus, Performing Elephants .. NOW that the dust has cleared, I say, HOW CAN ANYBODY.. WHO CARES,, about these magnificent beauties, ACTUALLY PREVENTED them from living the life they have come to KNOW, and LOVE,!
    , look at this sanctuary
    , its a PALACE
    for Elephants,
they absolutely... LOVE PAWS SOIL , they cant get enough of that CALIFORNIA GOLD SOIL, and soak in it, dust with it, play, and roll, in it, run a much in it,splash in it, bathe in it when it s mud, they are DOING naturally, as Elephants DO in the wilds of Africa, soon they will learn to kill trees to create their very own Savannah's, woo hooo, THIS IS ALL .. WE WHO REALLY CARE,, EVER WANTED FOR THEM
    A CAREFREE, STRESS FREE LIFE,,
A , LIFE AT PAWS IS A GOOD LIFE,
IM SO HAPPY ITS ALL OVER NOW, AND THAT WE WON THE BATTLE,

There is another sanctuary in Thailand called "Elephant Nature Park" and on their site, they video transporting elephants that are being rescued from logging camps. Humans accompany the elephants, and feed them while their in transit. The elephant is moved in the back bed of a truck. No mechanical equiment, no hoists. No dust and crap. The whole process is much slower and at the ease of the elephant. Not the convenience of the humans. I think people should learn this critical step in handling these gentle giants. I also know that the Toronto Zoo elephant keepers had devised a very detailed, slower game plan to move these elles. And it was dismissed out of hand. I'm glad they are now here but things need to be handled differently with these creatures. They are not just "animals".

PAWS please help an elephant called Mali on Facebook. I signed a petition 2 years ago she still suffers. She is chained all the time. She holds her own tail for comfort. She is so lonely. She looks rather small and maybe malnourished. Please try to find her. I beg you to look into this.

Thank-you PAWS! Realizing the funds needed, as too, the energy, devotion, skill and intricacy involved in rescuing and transporting these huge, deserving animals, I nonetheless echo the sentiments voiced by Patricia in previous text. As soon as possible, please find, treat and relocate the elephant named Mai. Unless PAWS has already found and aided her, she, too, is in need of nurturing and the roomy companionship of her own kind. I pray almost daiily for the global community's heightened fiscal support of your charitable endeavors. Perhaps, if you would post Mai's pic on youtube, I.e., putting a face to need, donations toward her rescue would increase. Please, give these two beauties hugs from all of us far away and keep us posted regarding Mai's wellbeing. Gratitude and Blessings, always, to the many volunteers and supporters facilitating these magnificent rescues!

If they establish some herds here in North America, our kids and grandkids can see these magnificent animals without the threat of endangerment. I just hope they manage the herds well and don’t overbreed, and I hope none of these animals end up on a safari hunt.

Shame on them and their "general practitioner" vets. People have no clue what it takes to acclimate such an animal to her new surroundings and new family.
People also don't realize many of these rescued animals would not survive if they were released into their natural environment. They do not have the survival skills, being raised in captivity.
The animals do not have to perform. They are not shackled. The fact that the preserve may be open to tourists is simply a method of paying for feed, shelter and medical care, for the animals.
It's like they retired to their favorite resort.
