- Well Finally after a month and a half, Jupiter is out, the sky is clear, and I was able to get a nice zoom test video. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, to so clearly be able to see Jupiter and its moons was quite impressive. Its also a good demonstration of how stable the video is even under high zoom, while not on a tripod.
This is not an astro-photography camera however, it does do a wide range of things but you wont be able to get pics of galaxies and things like that until canon does a firmware upgrade removing some manufacturer implemented ISO / Exposure limitations. Наука
yes it's a nice camera. i just got one for xmas. i just went and bought a tripod this weekend. I will try to take a video of the moon and hopefully a planet if possible. will post it here if you don't mind.
nice video
I totaly get this camera now!
I have a finepix s5000 it is a old dslr camera and I managed to take pictures of jupiter and see the clouds of jupiter. but I am thinking of taking lots of pictures so I can stack them to get a sharp image. I also probably might show a video of jupiter soon on my channel so I hope you watch it :D
the cool thing about canon cameras is that most of them has telephoto lens that can making you see things that you could see through a 3-5 inch telescope.
Nice 👌
This is So impressive For a Powershot Bridge Camera...great promo for this Canon camera...
Impressive!!! many telescopes wont do that!
driverstorer most telescopes get these views
That was the first SX50's "Jupiter and its Moons" video I saw on RUclips more than a year ago. I though it was epic and I still think it's pioneer and epic !
I saw them too! Amazing camera! :D
that camera is a fucking telescope! but its still cooler to see through a telescope than a monitor
Thanks for the space voyage :)
This is absolutely incredible, I've been out looking for a new camera but do not want to buy something advanced, thanks to this and other videos on youtube so I decided to order this camera ! thanks for this beautiful video :)

hi..
I wonder if is possible to change the settings for video, or just photo
I think it is 50X optical, plus another 4X digital, for a total of 200.
Hi....I havent bot the camera myself yet..but could u do a zoom on saturn and put it on youtube plz?
Wow, you must have a very steady hand to hold in frame like that at x200 zoom. Nice experiment!
u can do that too without using tripod ... just lie down on the ground or your houses terrace or anywhere u want (sleep on the ground)... when u lie down the body works as tripod even at 200x the hand remains very steady .. i do it everday ... but when standing my hands are like crank shaft ... moving here and there like flies ... just try it ..lie down on the ground ... u will see how hand works like tripod ..but keep urs both hands elbow portion attached to ur body ,,.. it works try it
Hi Dude....Jupiter was a relevation...is it possible to get a close up of Saturn if it is present in your night sky please? Would love to see how it would appear...
with digital 200
I have this same camera and caught a very similar view two nights ago. Great job. I have a great video of Sirius close up on my channel.
Thanks for clarifying.
What Setting do you used?
my kodak z990 30x+digital goes to 150x comes very close to yours sx50 i can also see 5 moons around jupiter
Why do you call is 200x zoom test? Isn't on 50x?
On Wednesday I'm i Hong Kong and then I hopefully will get the Canon Powershot SX50 HS.
Nice shot. Impressive, I might say, especially the IS.
But...
"A lot of telescopes won't give you that nice and clear of a view"
I wouldn't bet on that, if we're talking about telescopes, and not about cheapo supermarket "telescopes"
What kind of result using this camera with 10X binoculars?
Please Someone do test with Nikon P600 - 1) Jupiter Moons and 2) how it copes with Saturn. Also need Mars and Venus if possible
I downloaded test's of sony hx300 with jupiter moons and also Earth Moon
wow nice one!
Hi there, are you familiar with "photo SFX art" (just google it)? On their website you can watch a smart free video demonstrating how you can take incredible photographs. It helped Joe to shoot pictures that leave you with a wow-effect after you take a look at them. Perhaps it will help you also.
How to Change the video settings ?
watch my zoom tests with Sony hx300 too. Good Job.
Can it be put on a tripod?
Now that is Impressive ain't it...
que buen pulso¡¡¡
Got that baby now. :)
Now waiting for good weather. ^^
1200mm is amazing for a P&S, just like you said. I wish I had one of these, but in the SLR world it would take $1500 worth of lenses to do that. Very cool stuff. You should try Saturn!
can you change the lens on this cam i own it
You can’t change the lens on the sx models
Dude, great image isnt this camera like 12 or 13 megapixels?
I have the canon sx50 and I go out to the ranch a lot and well you can the stars very clear. What do you recommend to the pictures and get a good shot
Even I have a handycam that does this. Reduce the exposure to see the true colors.
I had the Panasonic Lumix fz35,while still good I am intrigued by this camera's zoom and it would really come in handy as I am disabled but love photography. How does this camera work in low light situations? I don't plan on doing too much low light shots but occasionally owls will fly into my yard at night and I want to photograph them. Also ,is it capable of doing macro and depth of field shots?Lastly any notable flaws?I am by no means a professional photographer, just a serious hobbyist. thx
WOW!!!
@wildking4U He calls it a 200x zoom test because is 50x Optical times 4x Digital = 200x (Optical&Digital)
Yall sound like cr1tikal
Omg!!!
teach youself a pgotography, if u cant decrease iso or time to show ye sureface
these cameras are bad for viewing the moon and planets.
