To be fair, on paper it should be considered the most personal AoT ED on the simple fact; it's the only ED that was storyboarded by Isayama (AoT's creator) himself hence the foreshadowings and the artist choice was also Isayama's as it was made by his favorite band. It is probably the most Isayama worked with the Anime staff directly, although Season 2 in general was a blessing... Plus, this is my own take as a fan who's been following the Manga since it first started publishing; I think both musically and lyrically this and Shock are the most fitting AoT EDs. They have this eerie and aloof atmosphere to em, especially more representing of the overall series' themes and vibe later on. Akuma no Ko is also great, although much simpler than both (Also a bit too major note and highkey, though I guess it represents kid Eren's dream and naiveness).
@@Osama-KIN_TMZ01 i think all of the endings were instructed by isayama there is alot of foreshadowing in all of them for stuff that wasn't even in the manga yet and if you believe in AOE the last ending is all about that and you also have the music video for the requiem ending it's all about the AOE as well in the requiem music video when kid eren touch adult eren he sees something that something is what he sees in the last ending after the cage break
@@aligmal5031 That's incorrect. Most of Isayama's involvement throughout the TV Anime's production was as notes. The only season where he was actually credited for anything was storyboarding the Season 2 ED while it was directed by Araki and illustrated/drawn by Kazuhiro Hocchi. Isayama's involvement in the script isn't much either, the script itself is still written by Hiroshi Seko directly from the Manga but he still takes notes from Isayama or recommendations for alterations from the Manga. It's actually extremely rare for for the Mangaka to actually be directly involved with adaptations. Also, for your information, the music video for the requiem is completely unrelated to AoT, in fact no one from the staff list or even Kodansha is even remotely involved...
That last one parallels with the first so well, someone made a mashup with the visuals and its beautiful, it made me tear up when I first saw this and that mashup. "This world is cruel, but I still love you." -Eren "This world is cruel, but also beautiful" -Mikasa
Fun fact Every ending is focused on something: ED 1 - Mikasa ED 2 - All characters and in its origins ED 3 - The truth about the origins of the titans ED 4 - Historia ED 5 - A tribute to those who died and could not see outside the walls ED 6 - Falco ED 7 - Eren and his desire to be free (+ and maybe it was a conversation betwen eren and mikasa) (And many more that i dont know about)
This is a late comment, but I 100% recommend watching/ Listening to Under the Tree as if it's Eren talking to Mikasa and Akuma no Ko as Mikasa talking to Eren. I think it will blow your mind.
ED 4 isn't just about historia but the plot. esp coz they showed eren with his father, frieda and the rest of the scouts doing their salute. ED 6 isn't just about falco but all the warrior pov
ED 6 shows Falco but the lyrics are about Eren, when Yuko Ando wrote the song she read the manga ending and she was told to write a song for the "final season" so she wrote that thinking it was the last outro for the show.
I really recommend listening to the full version of Akuma no Ko, I feel like people don't truly appreciate the song itself, but because its just from AOT. It deserves more credit and recognition!
Right? Kinda annoys me how many people dislike it on face value alone, it grows on you the more you listen to it and the further along you get in the story. When I listen to it now it honestly makes me wanna cry, every single time. The fact that they wanted to foreshadow all of that so early on is crazy but as an anime-only it pays off so well when you watch S3 part 2 and going into S4, because if you paid attention you start to recognize everything that was in that ED and it's such an _"oh"_ moment.
Great reaction, you helped me notice things about the songs I hadn't noticed before. Also here's a list of incredibly obscure and underrated aot ost you might want to listen to: -abstract lust -helpless world -YAMANAIAME -guren no zahyou -jyuu no daishou -13 no fuyuu -dark side of the moon -kakumei no yoru ni -alternative drive -to the other side of the concrete(not exactly aot song but isayama wanted it to be the season 1 op) There are others but these were the ones from the top of my head
bro FINALLY someone who appreciates the third ED. Isayama strorieboarded this ending himself and the fact that it was the ending for season 2 when we don't even learn the truth of what it means and what these images are until season 4 is god tier foreshadowing. this shit made me so interested in the lore and history of the world when it came out and i fuckin love the song. so underappreciated just because it's creepy
I love ending 3 it’s so underrated and it has so much foreshadowing in it. It even foreshadows the rumbling which I don’t think even happened in the manga yet. Not sure though
You're right! Isayama helped storyboard that ED [the only time he's ever done this] because that wasn't even in the manga yet, it was a big shock for everyone.
the last ed with eren is a response to the first one with mikasa. mikasa says 'what are we protecting in this cruel world' in the first and eren responds in the last ed 'the world is cruel but i still love you, i will sacrifice everything to protect you'.
I love watching your reactions to anime OPs/EDs/OSTs because we can get more of an insight of the actual music (I'm looking forward to the demon slayer and JJK ones). I wish I watched this stream, the lyrics for the second last ending are very good too, 'please someone tell the world I was here'. Also I hope you watched that Akuma no ko special vid that loaded at the end, its really cool with those visuals.
That sayonara song makes me cry every time. Imagine they’re friends and as time goes by one by one died. I can’t, I haven’t watch attack on titan since season 3 because I can’t stop crying every death scene.
I agree with the contrast of Rumbling and Akuma No Ko. Rumbling kinda sounds like an argument of Eren explaining how he doesn't want it, but it's what he has to do. Akuma No Ko is like he sat down with Mikasa and told her even though he's doing it, it's because he loves and wants to protect her
12:15 For me the best ending of all time. Why? Because due to the message and the moment of its broadcasting, it is a masterpiece that made me cry and always cry when I hear it. Nothing makes me feel as emotional in anime and manga as this. That's why I adore this ending. You're probably wondering what message I'm talking about. Not only about saying goodbye to old times, which will not come back, because we know what happened after crossing the sea, but also, in a way, saying goodbye to the WIT studio and this title, this universe, this world and characters, because later they gave the series to Mappa studio. Of course, I don't subtract anything from endings 4 and 5, especially the second Akuma no Ko, which is also outstanding.
Omg you’re not the only one, I also cried every time I heard this. It’s hard to say goodbye and not see all the people we use to love and interact with, friends or family. It’s hard. That sayonara lyrics hit me. And that pictures that their together and at the end it’s an empty cabin.
Lowkey surprised no one told you that the people who did the 3rd ending also did the 6th opening. You know, the My War one? The duality is insane Edit: Everytime I hear the 4th ending I get PTSD from episode 12 😭
Man, everytime i hear that all opening, give me goosebumps, because all Hollywood movies didn't catch this. They focued on ldgtsqwerty. And this story is masterpice of character's, hard troucers. And in this tines, as a man from Poland, fight for your country.
