a friend is some one that lifts your life up when interacting with them, laughter fun etc.
on line they cant hurt or if they do you can cut them off.
the same in real life a 'friend' that steals your happiness is not a friend
Gee I love this guy whoever he is.
Hahaha i got shown this in school and I thought it was hilarious
gay meme I have got it in school to
Same it’s for p4c
gay meme It was philosophy/p4c on google classroom
Same
I'm doing online school and the teacher in the other class said (or idk) we have to watch it
you are the best!!!! this is the real life!!!
I think this video was not made merely for entertaining purposes, it seems to me that it wants to portray the irony of our online lives... how easy it is for us to accept a complete stranger's friendship request online contrasted with how hostile we react in the real world.
Forever alone.
great point!!!!
See the opera. It will make a lot of sense...
Yeah, this whole "online" business makes us do weird things indeed... :D Nice video!
One of the best videos I ve ever seen! well done :)
64 people have no humor!! DISLIKE!!
Lol Our Online Life Is Crazy Got Shown This At School It Was So Funny! 😂

I wish he had walked up to a person and said "Do you wanna be my friend?" and they genuinely said "Yes" .
I'm getting shown this in school in 2021.
wer schaut das von frau lehmann??
I love this guy. Did he actually just enter a bar with a sign saying "Interested in men"? You've earned a sub.
0:51 ima just walk backwards away from weird man XD
5 years ago and i find myself today on 0:41.
Alisson Valentim ha gay
jk lol
I have no friends😐
Wow if Facebook was an actual person, we would all end up friendless and only have Facebook as a friend
..and in the end you ask us to follow YOU i.e. to subscribe, ironic, isn t it?
As someone who DOESN'T use twitter or facebook this is somewhat lost on me
I did a video on 'If facebook pages were real' xD
hey, omg you've got a tick on your title are you famous? and im ur first like lol
Telling people you like things is something people do every day. And when you make a friend request on Facebook, it's done in the social context of Facebook, same as with meeting someone at a bar - it's not unusual for people to just come up to you and start chatting; it's expected and part of the norms of that particular situation.
"Oh, you're actually following me!" ....brilliant.
She was wit, I hope he married her since then.
A gente vive falando sobre essa questão do quanto nos acostumamos a dar de graça informações das nossas vidas pessoais em troca de status. Vídeo bacana no qual o cara faz na "vida real", o que costumamos fazer "online".
that boy is wird you can't just say can i be you'r friend he needs to tell what he likes to do like something like that
I'll be your friend!!!

@PhantomAct The Office was one of the best comedies i've ever seen, British comedy tends to be more subtle than you're average 'HAHAH I FELL OVER WHILST HOLDING A TRAY OF CHIPS OH JAMAL U SO ST00PID' I like a few American stand ups and comedy movies, but for the most part its quite childish
Oh and as for this being not funny, yeah it's not that great, it's mainly trying to get a message across about facebook, and it's not like the guys a well know comedian or proffesional or anything. ! =]
@kmonster420
If you are an internet marketer or a MLM scam artist, don't bother trying to befriend me or even sub my channel. Go get a real job and quit harassing people. Anybody and everybody else is welcome and encourged to sub. Every once in awhile I get the balls to post a cover song ...
That's from your You Tube Channel page. How come you're not so discerning on You Tube regarding friendship?
And did you know any or many of your You Tube friends before joining You Tube?
Nit judging.
@05you2
Brilliant! Just brilliant!
And I took the time to say; "Have a nice day," to you;...and you didn't even have the curtsey to say "Have a nice day,"... to me in return!
Why, not even a "How'd ya do?" ..or even a care or a query about my day or how my day went .Isn't that just lovely? Well, I never......next time I'll just poke ya instead!
POKE!
Ha!
Funny video. I hardly ever use lol because I think it is quite overused. But lol.

Have you ever thought about how weird it is to sit in a large darkened room and listen to people sing words that you can barely understand to a score that makes your ears bleed. Have you every thought about how *dangerous* opera could be???
Alright there! Have you ever tried - Shumpana Amazing Facebook Dominator (just google it)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my BF got great results with it.
I would have said yes to being his friend...I poke my friends.. I just wouldn't be okay with him writing on my walls.. and that is because we rent.. However.. The following for Twitter would have probably been weird.
It's hard to compare virtual world and real world because the language is different and, well, a chasm separates them!
Still, I liked the video and I think it raises an interesting and relevant discussion. :)
It's not strange to "like" something your friends posted on their wall such as photos, videos, etc. However it is a bit bizarre to "follow" your friends even you have known them or met them, if put in the reality.
@05you2
Yah!!!!
Poke!!! Poke!!! Poke!!!
Ha!
Good deal. So "How's it going?"
I'm glad we were both able to gain something form our exchange.
Poke! Poke! Poke!
Well, hey buddy..."Have nice day!"
it might've worked better a few years back. Shldn't enough people know what facebook is by now? He must've have tried asking soo many people before finding some that didn't know what he was talking about
nb. the John Snow pub (named for the doctor show first associated cholera with contaminated water) was recently in the news when staff prevented a gay couple kissing. Clever little insert.
perhapas we can be friends........... after we know each other better, that's the point!
Anything taken literally or out of context can seem odd. When you "follow" someone on Twitter, you're following a conversation, not where they are and what they're doing at all times (or did the interviewer stipulate "can I follow you physically while you walk about?"). When you poke a friend it's synonymous with nudging them when they've been silent too long...which many friends actually do.
@HSOUIXZ I'm sorry that you were offended by my observation based speculation on human behavior. I did not anticipate anyone taking offense at my lighthearted observation that there are, as you aptly noted, Americans who are easily angered and offended by strangers who are (for lack of better words) extremely "forward and creepy." However, I personally never said that I was such a person.
As for you, you seem to have a lot of pent up anger.
I hope that your situation changes for the better.
Alright, for those who may not know. This is a video depicting actions you might take on the website Facebook. It shows the absurdity of the actions when tried in real life. To 'poke' means to gently touch someone with the pointer finger of an extended hand. At the end, he talks about twitter, where an action you can take is to follow someone and thus receive their comments, as opposed to literally following someone which would be creepy.
Excellent and very funny! This social-networking IRL idea has already been done elsewhere (e.g. South Park) but the confused faces of ordinary people in the park and on the street (especially the Asian guy) really adds to the amusement.
Just in case anyone is wondering, there is a reason for the John Snow Pub / Interested in Men skit: The John Snow was in the news recently when a gay couple was asked to leave the pub for kissing.
@jeras2: I think you've missed the point. You are right-someone playing Mario on the street would look odd. The difference is that Mario is a game, whereas social media are purported to be communication conduits for making personal contact with others.
The critique offered falls into three categories: new jargon ("ROFL" "poke"); amount and type of self-disclosure (e.g., announcing relationship status); and the nature of relationships (e.g., what does "friend" mean in social media v. 3D life?).
well it's bound to be weird when you take online things out of context like that. If you had an opera about two car drivers and showed a guy going round saying "I'm going to turn left now" or beeping at people or exchanging insurance and laundry details if a cup of coffee was accidentally spilled it would be equally bonkers. there's nothing stranger about online behavior then other social behaviors, ie driving, working, being on holidays.
@mariopierre it's hard man. None of the people I know even want to talk on the phone anymore let alone e-mail. Just text. And when I send them links for articles they may be interested they say "Too much information" "Too long". There's nothing I can do personally. This low attention span has just become endemic to our society, no patience whatsoever, no reading comprehension ability :(
We had this exact conversation yesterday around a campfire, extended to the point of cell phones and not even having any real life interactions anymore. I actually installed french doors in my bathroom, which sit right in front of the toilet, people are fucking intimidated but why? We live the rest of our lives right in the open and share the most intimate details, yet people still act all shy when not hiding behind a screen... fuck'd fuck. Chuck your cells and laptops away and try real life.
Very funny. Although I cant help but think its rather easy to be literal about the language we use online. To follow somebody on twitter does not mean to invade their personal space and make them feel uncomfortable. Users post at their free will, sharing information when they please.. This video would be seen be very few people if it wasn't for social media this video looks at satirically.
too bad that this is false for most people. most people who have a few hundred friends at least "know" who they are on an acquaintance level. this dude's running around asking people who he's never seen before, which is not the case for most people. i enjoyed the video and i think it does a great job pointing out some dumb features that facebook has.
@TezukaKohei Hopefully, like everything else, society will one day return to it's roots. I've noticed that a lot of people have been planting their own gardens, I guess that's a start. It just really sucks when I host a house show and people aren't even paying attention, they're all txt'ing, it's horrible. Definitely losing touch with reality and everything that is beautiful.
This was hilarious 'til I got to the end. I feel like--and I'm sure it's unintentional--the end of the teaser almost round-about bashes the people who are watching it, by calling our online lives "odd" and implying we're doing something "danger[ous]" by just going through the normal internet motions. Something doesn't jive there for me. But until then, kudos!
@jeras2 (Forgive my English) I don't think that Facebook is like a video game. It seems instead a window in which we expose our ego. It is not only a convenient medium, is presented as an alternative reality. It is a self-classification in exchange for visibility. We will never be willing to admit that this is wrong.
I mean it is funny but it's really interesting when you think about it. Facebook got it right and has been reaping the rewards
Of course our relationships on line are stylized. Our relationships in every context are shaped by the context. Behavior that's appropriate at work seems strange in other contexts (except in DC), and behavior that's appropriate in a bar would be bizarre, at best, at work. Big revelation.
This is a pretty interesting video, but there is one problem with it: it shows how weird it can be with people who do NOT know. I use Facebook for the people I know in real life, so it doesn't really work like this. However, I know some people do act on Facebook like in that video, which is pathetic.
@vincenth2008 observation intended in the most lighthearted, non-bitchy way possible: you criticise the video, as it comments on a service which nobody is obligated to use... yet your criticism is a comment on a video that you yourself are in no way obligated to view.
@BNPpatriot Why would he have gotten arrested? He is just talking to people. Like i am to you right now, lets hope the police don't come for me. And, i'm sure they had a permit for the camera equipment so its not like the authorities don't already know. He's just... extremely friendly.
Well done! Its a slap in the face for all online/facebook/social freaks! I dont use fb, twitter or any other social network , and I must admit how can someone have 1500 friends? Whey do I want to follow someone on twitter and enticipate when they are going to tweet? Try and live the real life.....
Hahaha this is hilarious!
Thumbs up if you saw this on Facebook or Twitter, or you posted it to one of them yourself :P
17 years, to be sure. I left out another important aspect: shallowness and superficiality. Luckily, I have met a few worthwhile people tayht I may have called friends, but not through artifical friend-making and introduction-driving institutions.
that's the point.. it's weird that some ppl call it a life that they go online.. it is not a lifestyle it's a hobby but people call it life cause everything they do they have to post it or brag about it even though ppl other than your friends don't care
@HSOUIXZ
Sorry, I ran out of characters.
I hope you have a nice day too.
Also, you're right. I looked up the legal requirements of harassment and these actions would not hold up as just cause in a US court. Thanks, I now know something new.
In my opinion, different reactions toward online friends and offline (real-life) friends somehow display the affected face of online community. And then, I'm glad at myself for setting privacy filter on my facebook friend list >:]
@Reemii What's the point in going to a pub if you are not going to meet people. I don't know what bars you have in Toronto but here in the UK people / strangers generally talk to each other, especially outside in smoking areas.
Guess I'm going against the stream here, but that was absolutely stupid. Nothing in here relates to actual online behaviour, he just uses the same expression. Ok, maybe the posters with "LIKE" are relevant, but that's about it.
It should be harder to add friends on facebook, You should have to ask and answer a series of personal questions relating to the person before you're even allowed to make the request or look at them at all!
@HURLEY7130 Hahahaha well there is people who would send invitations just because the pictures are pretty.... Ridiculous.... Or people who have their whole life "broadcasted" on YT. Etc etc...
I never understood how people can have 1000+ friends. Imagine the all the annoying news feeds. I only choose to have about 50 people on my list, including family, & I stlll have to hide many posts.
this just shows how stupid facebook is. Get a real friend and not online ones. Friends are the one who you know in real life not in some internet who live across the other half of the world.
18.08.2020
I'm pretty sure that if you do this video in Brazil, you will have a VERY VERY different reaction from people.
@postmodernobjection: Yes, that IS the pub! Clever touch indeed. But where can I add the guy as my friend?
That was just plain stupid. And dangerous, as it simplifies very complex reality. And before you say I'm wrong or stupid (or both) read about the play this video promotes.
@ssj3g0tenks My arrogant what? Touch a nerve did I, creeper? What other conclusion could one possibly draw from a creeper writing a creeper message? Creeper.
@w4stoosh I know you are half-joking but this is serious man...And it's the same reason why people are too lazy to make sure the "too" is "too" and not "to" :(
Brilliant vid. Especially the John Snow pub bit. Genius. Plus i think i might have to start carrying around post-its with 'Like' written on them from now on.
LOL at 1:20. He keeps hounding the guy to be his friend. But the guy obviously used the "ignore", so he shouldn't have had to listen to him anymore. ;P
@arcticsun Yes, she reacted pretty fast to actually first realize, get chocked, calm down and finally coming up with something to say to a random stalker.
I think that he got the "can I poke you" a little wrong..
and I'd def go for the "single" ;) but the "interested in men".. seriously? such a waste
Yeah, it's odd. But no more than the way that people think if they have a video camera that makes it ok to freak people out by following down a street.
@m00nthug Not sure it's supposed to be taken all that seriously....just more of a "comment" (see what I did there?) on the conventions of social media.
It's creepy if you do all these things to a stranger, but very normal to your real friends on Facebook/Twitter. It's just contextual.
Uhhhh does anyone realize that this is actually a promotion for an opera...? Not that I'm complaining - I love opera. Still, though...lol
this is sooo clever
it actually like
friend request = :)
friend request in real life = :(
this is FUN to watch !!!!!!!!!!!!
But I only keep to the friends i know in real life. i think it's socially a lot better to do :)
I think most people will agree It's more interesting and intellectual than American comedy.
Ok you guys are seriously clever, respect from the visionOntv crew.
It is an odd coincidence that I liked this video? And by liked I mean clicked the like button to save it in my Likes folder?
Twitter is slightly misrepresented, I think. He should have stood there, and tracked her via GPS then appear there every 15min.
This reveals the sad "reality" of internet identities. They are superficial.
I'm surprised he didn't get sued for harassment.
i believe tht you jus have to use ur common sense to kno when you're online waaaay too much n not living ur life 4 real
That's why it's online and not RL. It's still funny to watch what you do online so casually to be simulated in real life.
