Its a really great video. Thanks for sharing ! A few questions , what material or substance can be used to remove the gel most easily? Also, what kind of fixing gel do you use after soldering? Thanks in advance
great video, but is there a specific way of getting that goo off the PCB? i have a few broken wires on both sides and a broken cap.. its a pain in the ass to remove all the goo though.
Nice job! After repair, how long does it take for the unit to fail again? I question why I performed a similar repair in a company, and after 1 year I had the defect again.
cold joints. Jou have to use a preheater too. Also a tin without Pb is the labour disrupter - you must buy a tin with hih amount of Pb to make the job long lasting.
Hi, we have replaced this unit 4 times and they only last 1 day. Then car started driving over 2000 rev all the time. We decided to sell the car now. Is what you did really the solution? How long it last approximately?
It can be repaired?!...I was told to change with a recon one for quite a price but much cheaper than dealer price...need to get the parts back...thanks for the wonderful video
How are you soldering the pins ? In my case solder does not wat to stick to the metal used... Is there special flux or solder you are using ? My solder temp was 425, solder Sn60Pb40, and 8341 no clean flux paste. The PCB takes the solder but the pins just don't wanna take the solder.
You need good solderstation, lower temperature (most flux is burned if you exceed 350). Not high temperature, but temperature accumulation in soldering tip is important.
Hey brother, I saw some of your amazon reviews on amg additions. Ended up buying the door inserts to hold my keys lol. Also bought the xotic red air vent covers for my c63. I'm nervous the 3m tape will come off in the AZ summer. How have they been for you?
WHAT COMPANY in Europe has these refurbished to buy? We have a Mercedes B170 2009 that we have to fix this gearbox problem. Please give suggestions here. We are in Sweden but can import from any country.
Great helpful video team Mechasoft. A few clarifications: What exactly causes the connections to break? Trying to see how one can avoid the same problem recurring after the repair. And may I ask why you do not resolder even the connections which are okay knowing that the same can occur on the other side since the soldering was done with the same material and at the same time just to prolong the time it may take for the problem to recur?
Factory Defect of bonding process and vibrations are main causes. Problem broken wire do not exists in some bosch and siemens units (as example 722.9, problems are in sensors, flex, but problem with bonding wires do not exists, same in 6HP (bosch) , there are problem with posistion sensors, speed sensors, sometimes CPU, but problem with "wires" in this type TCU is 1 pcs per 1000, but bosch ABS/ESP control units..are susceptible to damage. We repairing this type of TCU(722.8) since 2011 year. After 12 years we have a lot experience what comes faulty oft and what sometimes. Of course there are units which also need rebuild from "second side" - and if unit need that then we do that.

Hello, Thank you for this professional video. I am currently performing exactly the same operation (the same connection wire is broken). I would like to know : What type of connector do you use? What glue do you use to close the plastic case? Thank you in advance for your answers !
please do not use "superglue" and other 2 component glue. We use high temperature silicon, some companies use glue to windows. There are many possible ways to close cover, but some of them are destructive for "future" repair.
@@mechasoft thank you for your answer, I can't find a seller or a product reference for the connecting wires, from what I understand it's a pure aluminum wire, which one do you use? Thank you in advance
@miziou1894 don’t mix up the different wire types. The Aluminum wire is for heavy wire bonding, a copper wire (commonly) for soldering. You cannot solder Al-wires. So two totally different ways to produce interconnections.
You my friend deserve all the likes in the whole world ❤
*Brilliant. It looks easy when you know how. I tried this and I was unsuccessful. Need to practice more I guess. Thanks for sharing!!!*
Easy as everything. Experience is most important ;-) Try try try and comes day when you do yourself perfectly.

Typically High temperature silicone. Such as dirko.
