    Thank you,
    My wife, died last July and I’m looking to put her name on a brass urn. Atomstack and Ikier manuals don’t have instructions on where to connect roller to the laser.
    As a side note I ordered a Atomstack R30 V2 infrared laser module 2W That should get here today. The Atomstack manual for this module say’s it will work with an Ikier K1 machine. If you want, I’ll tell you how it works out.

      You're welcome- sorry to hear of your loss.
      Yes- please let me know how the IR module works with your machine.

      @@thelaserchannel1 I got the Atomstack R30 V2 today it took about 15 minutes to mount and plug in. I haven’t tried the rotary yet, gotta find a brass tube I can practice on. On a flat piece of brass using fill w/cross hatch @45degrees 100%, 254mm/s and 0.127 mm interval I was able to engrave a filled circle that did not scratch off with my finger nail.
      Notes the focus pole is dead on, The brass needed a quarter in. piece of MDF on a honey comb to get the proper height, I Turned off Z control till I get Z offset figured out as well as startup auto-home and Return to Finish Position.

      @@thelaserchannel1 After a day with a lot of frustration I found the R30 on a Ikier does not work in absolute coordinates neither can I use Z offset to set the focus too many error messages and Lightburn lockups. Current Position and manual focus do work.

    Thank you for your hard work. I am considering the purchase of an iKier K1 and you are answering all the questions I have, video after video !
    iKier support told me they will eventually sell a 1064nm laser for the K1. I wonder if the Atomstack one would work on the K1.

      You are welcome! I haven't tried crossing laser modules between brands. Most brans use a flat 4/6 connector system but what signals are on each wire might not be the same. Thanks for watching!

    It should be, since it is the same company.

      That was my thoughts too- it "should" work and yes it does work! Thanks for watching!

      I run all PC in my shop, but I did dig a little and Laser GRBL and Lightburn will not run on any Ipad. I'm not sure about the Ikier software app.

      Thanks for your response. Can I buy an inexpensive small laptop from Walmart to run the software and machine. Can I fire it up with there controller?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Год назад

      @@andrewearl9315 Yes- just print out the PC requirements for the software you'll be using with the machine like Laser GRBL or Lightburn. Don't forget if there's any photo editing software you might want to run the in future! Here's what Google said: Minimum Computer System Requirements: LightBurn will run on Windows 7.0 or later, 32 or 64 bit, MacOS 10.11 or later, or 64 bit Linux. LightBurn does not require a powerful computer for most work, though if your designs contain a lot of images, more memory is helpful.

      @@thelaserchannel1 Thanks again for the speedy help. I’ve almost got it all together to fire up.
