As mentioned by a few viewers, this is rare specced modified Ultra Luxury trim version of the LS. So one correction is that this actually does have double paned glass. It has all options except for the now outdated looking SatNav screen, and air suspension, but still retains rear climate control, coolbox, rear upper AC vents, rear side sun shades, and memory seats for all 4 seats.
I have owned five of these cars. One of them had 517,000 miles on it before it got in an accident. Maintenance is relatively low, provided you change the pulleys, belts, timing belt every 100,000 miles. The rest is just regular maintenance. You can use toyota parts so it's way less expensive to maintain than a Mercedes and also it only takes 5 quarts of oil, the oil is super easy to change and for less than $30 I get oil change. This IS the best sedan ever built. If I could find a new old stock is sweep it up in a heartbeat... For the GPS models they do make an upgrade screen for that is basically a tablet.
What a bummer that thing got into an accident. Probably would have made 1M miles any day if it hadn't :( I'm curious though, what parts from Toyota models fit the LS?
Even here these are unicorns. The only one for sale is one with 130K Km which is A LOT for the Philippines. That’s probably the equivalent of 300K Miles worth of wear in US highway roads

Great review Kyle.. the LS430 is probably one of the best cars ever built..quiter than a Rolls I think. The interior is inspired by the British Airways and Ritz Carlton Hotel.. Its also probably one of the rarest cars in the country!
@2:37 thank you for showing that about the trunk. I've watched many videos on RUclips and not too many reviewers (including Lexus dealership sales people) don't know that feature

I owned one of these last year! Loved it so much, I still miss it. But I moved back up north so RWD wasn't gonna cut it. But if you can afford the gas, this car is a winner in almost every way.
I was fortunate to be able to buy a one owner Florida 2005 silver LS430 with 17,000 miles on it! Kyle is so right this is the most comfortable, quiet ride in a car. I previously owned a 2015 LS460. It had poorer ride quality and larger but louder engine. Kyle, you failed to mention the little sun blocker above the rear view mirror. I use all the time. Also, I had a new windshield placed and it was $2000 due to the fact is double glass.
Glad to know. Thanks for that. I’ve read somewhere after filming this that there was the Ultra Luxury and Custom Luxury which received the dual paned glass? Is this accurate or is it only the UL which received it?
@@KyleLiongCars you are right custom luxury wich is trim just below ultra luxury aslo got double pane glass. Awesome video! This is interesting as in the UK the only spec you could get is the Ultra Luxury with Air Ride, Nav, etc im planning on swapping out to conventional coils when one of the bags goes pop, but whats really interesting in this video is the car is fully loaded with the exception of the outdated nav and the air ride, but yet it still has the coolbox and rear climate setting in the armrest! it is indeed the perfect spec! 👍🏻
Modern car design peaked in the early 2000s, even the BMW 5 and 3 series were amazing then. Just about everything produced going into the 2010s has been made of cheaper materials to be less reliable that only the dealership is allowed to fix. Now we have subscription-based sales models so you don't even own the car after you buy it. Maintained cars like the Lexus LS430 blow modern cars out of the water.

@@KyleLiongCars mostly they would fit, the revisions are most likely the material quality improvements I hope. Nonetheless, OEM parts for both are available in plenty. Stealership charges a lot for labour. For those in the US, they can get reliable third party parts at Rockauto.com for much cheaper.
Yeah overall that’s not bad at all. My Prado 90’s tranny also set me back around $700 USD for just a rebuild with surplus parts. Lexus here also won’t service your cars unless you either buy it from them, or if it’s grey market units, you’d have to pay an enrolment fee of around $10,000 USD which is just way too steep.
In Malaysia - it is 9,000 MYR (US$2,000) in annual road tax for the 4600cc vs 380MYR for the 2500cc IS250. But given the exclusivity and price of the LS4_0 - My choice remains the LS460/LS430/LS400. Also - perversely (!!) Less likely to get stolen (and zero resale market value) because of the huge cost of "legal" ownership!
The amount of wood panelling is typical of early to mid-2000s Toyota and Lexus models. Reminds me of Emirates' business class. Was it real wood or just plastic? I believe the 1st and 2nd gen LS400s had real wood panelling and polished by Yamaha.
I think a lot of Lexus, even modern ones still have real wood, and if I recall correctly, they still go to Yamaha until now to have the woodworks done (I could be wrong). This is a really good gen of the LS. I've tried the next gen LS460 and while it's good, it's not as good as this. Hopefully I get to try out the previous gen soon as well, but they're quite rare here in the Philippines.
@@KyleLiongCars absolutely yes celsior I don't know why but they don't sell the Lexus brand in Japan so it's just the Toyota version of the Lexus cause they don't sell the Lexus brand at home. I will still think these are the best this gen and the previous I think are the height of the truly unkillable models the reliable to a fault and honestly I think they are just better yes the newer has more power ect but these were built so we'll because they were trying to make the Lexus name I think the first one they over did so much because they were more worried about building their reputation than actually making profits to start so I think the 90s and 2000s gen are built the best as best I know...
I think it's partly because unlike in the US or Asia, the Japanese people take great pride in their local made Toyotas so Toyota did not need to differentiate itself to the market. It was already great and dare I say luxurious to them. Case in point: The Toyota Century which is used by the Emperor of Japan himself. In America though, Toyota seems to be seen as a budget run-of-the-mill brand so they had to make the conscious effort to differentiate themselves as a luxury brand. Interesting fact though, Lexus were still branding their cars as Toyota in the past in Japan, but now, Lexus is a standalone marque in Japan as well.
@@KyleLiongCars these days in the us Toyota isn't really totally seen as a budget vehicle depends on the model but they are actually know for their reliability and dependability.
I am looking for one here in the US and I have yet to see one without the Nav unit, and no air ride, yet every other Ultra Lux option. This one is the perfect combination! Guessing the US market didn't get it?
Yes we have them here also without Nav. It depends on how the customer ordered them new. I only want Nav because there is an upgrade tablet interface for it. I have owned five of these cars last one had 517,000 miles on it I didn't do anything other than regular maintenance and timing belt changes every 100,000 miles. This is the best car you can buy in my opinion.
Good to hear. I've seen nav less ones but always base models. I'm honestly torn between the LS or a 3rd gen GS350. Something about the LS keeps drawing me in, despite the age.
Does the upgrade tablet interface look period correct for the car? Otherwise, I think the stock nav-less one still is the better option, at least for me
@@KyleLiongCars I've had the GS and LS personally I like the LS better. The ride is better but less sporty. If you want a sportier ride get the GS. But the tablet has all of the features and functions of the stock nav only updated to 2020 standards. Best control, air control, maps, apps, video, etc. Its awesome!!

Well yep but there it is. Known for reliability instead of luxury haha! Not a bad thing overall but still
I think this generation LS is excellent than fourth and fifth generation,
and this car have a touchsreen monitor version in Taiwan, called EMV system
我開過第4代LS。我也喜歡開這台因為雖然第4代比較有運動感,這代的舒服感高很多
Great video, I really enjoyed it & the Lexus
Thanks man
lord willing i am going to buy one of these next year
Let’s gooo
I want one so bad, must have the 18in wheels though
Never saw them with 18s... Do they look great?
It does have double pane glass. You were wrong.
Yep a viewer commented earlier. Thanks for the info :)
Otherwise, I think the stock nav-less one still is the better option, at least for me
Can't really beat the LS. As mentioned, I've loved the W140 S Class for the longest time, all time favourite.... until I tried this car
How do people press the dislike for this? Crazy
Thanks for the hype hahaha
@@KyleLiongCars i had that car and it was my fave. I have a 2008 lexus ls460L with 80k miles. Black on black in perfect condition.
Which do you prefer between the 2?
@@KyleLiongCars of course the ls460 L but that older was a classic i loved that car.
I actually just reviewed the LS460 a couple of days ago, and I found the comfort quite similar haha! I think I prefer the LS430 overall. LS460 vid soon
Beautiful car. Leather that has a wrinkled style to it, that’s called “gathered leather”.
Thanks! I’ve always wanted to know what that type of leather was called :) Can now use it for future vids
“A person or two” in da trunk! Mobsters
would love this car. 😝
😂😂
Would you buy an 02 lexus LS 430 with 51k miles on it or an 05 lexus LS 430 with 117k on it?
I’d probably get the facelifted one still as these can go hundreds of thousands of miles anyway haha
@@KyleLiongCars I appreciate the reply
No problem
Who owns this beautiful car, I’d be interested in buying it
A friend of mine’s. Not for sale though
@2:40 is that trunk really shut? Look how misaligned the left tail light is.
It is shut
Am sure it got double glazing windows all around cause mine does UK version come with sat nav and air suspension as standard
Yep it does. As mentioned in the pinned comment, a couple of viewers pointed out that since this is a top spec model (minus Satnav and air sus), this has double paned glass. :)
I NEVER THOUGHT THERE WAS LEXUS LS430 ROAMING AROUND HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES.
I REALLY LOVE THAT CAR.
IT IS SO DOPE IN VIP MOD/SETUP. A GOOD MAFIA CAR AS U.S. FANS CLAIM.
There’s a couple actually. Check out the driving segment of the vid and I talk about the ones for sale currently hehe
2,300km. Took 5 full seconds before I realized what it meant.
Quick maths hahaha
It is so hard to find one of these in good condition at a decent price because most people that have a vehicle that they know is reliable and will run forever they tend to just drive them more than take care of them
Yes exactly
is the navigation system just as good as the recents Lexus models that have one in terms of getting around and making sure you don’t get lost? cause i’m the type of guy that wants to get where i need to go like house parties or functions, or traveling outside my hometown, or etc
Can’t really say as we never use them here in the country. No matter how good a car’s nav is, they’re all equally useless here haha! We use only Waze here and or the occasional Google Maps
Looks prestine and elegant. Never knew lexus partnered with Yamaha.. 😱 Thanks.
Probs the most pristine in the world... or at least in the country
@@KyleLiongCars only wish there's one for sale. 😄 Makes two of us that wants one. Good review again as usual. Watching your raptor review now. Keep it up. 👍👍👍
Thanks again!
I also didn’t know about their partnership with Yamaha for the wood grain. But if I am not wrong, Lexus partnered with Yamaha for LFA: to tune the exhaust note.
So I’ve heard some people say about the exhaust note. I wish they had done it with more of their cars :)
Great job
Thanks man
It’s beautiful
Sure is
I couldn't understand what you said about the Toyota model it is, your reviews are so good work on your pronunciations just a little more but otherwise great very informative and good reviews keep it up...
Thanks! It's not a common word. It's called the Toyota Celsior. I think I pronounced it exactly as it's called haha
@@KyleLiongCars I would have to rewatch I wasn't sure what you were trying to say but yes I don't think we have the celsior in the usa why I also wanted clarification
I think it was a thing in Japan only. Also, btw, you could try to enable closed captions. I took the time to write everything manually :)
@@KyleLiongCars ok cool ty
Welcome back to the channel haha
A great description Kyle. Thanks. ARMelb Aust.
Thanks too
Man….This car is still the bidnezzz.
It’s holding up extremely well
Was this car for sale?
Nope

謝謝!
It’s for sale ?
as mentioned in the video, it's not
Still available?
Not for sale
why is there no screen?
Option
they originally had 290hp, over the years it went to 280 or 285hp, why is that?
Maybe in PS?
Hello brothers, the car is now a 2006 model, is it considered old and worn out? I mean, if I took a 430 2006 or 2005 model and it was clean, would it not bother me with garages and repairs? Help me, my friends, people of experience, thanks.
These last forever so getting one even a bit older is no issue at all :)
@@KyleLiongCars wow thats amazing thank you Kyle 🙏🏼
@@taaaloool1 You're welcome :)

Is this for sake? How much if so?
As mentioned in the video, nope
crazy car!!!!
Smooth car
Me me want to drive mine when I get home from work
Go :)
This is perfect, these cars are designed for small Asian people, that is why he fits perfect into the car.
Even if you’re over 6’5”, I’m dead certain you’d fit really comfortably
@@KyleLiongCars Oh yes, Also these early LS are just really spacious...not extremely spacious like the Benz S-Class...
They come pretty close to the W140 even in long wheelbase form
@@KyleLiongCars wow
Yep. I have a 1997 S320 in LWB and it really does come close
Love my lexus
i'll buy it...
:(
"Camry"!???!!! Son what the heck are you talking about. If anything it looks like a Merc. I have never thought of it as a Camry rear end looking affair.
Yes, to us, car guys. But when I showed it to some of my non-car guy friends, they were just like “oh is that an old Camry?” Sad reality 🥲🥲
@@KyleLiongCars btw pretty decent review. The tape cassette is awesome. Just need put the mid and treble basically to zero though for all audio. The subwoofer is in back in the middle of the headrests. I drive mine like the wind.. Good fun good enough. It beats an is300 2jz non turbo by a full second 0-60. The timing belt, tensioners, h2o pump etc.. needs be done though. Goes over speed bumps like nothing.
Thanks! Yeah then car is quite preppy given it’s size. I love it overall
I want this car
Same
I own one same colour but black interior I thought mine was low mileage 79000 miles 😀
No worries! At 79K miles, that’s still also just taking baby steps! Road to a million miles!! :)
@@KyleLiongCars yes I know it's in great condition full lexus service history timing belt change not due for another 4 years
Any major part that broke in the past?
@@KyleLiongCars not needed any parts I have only owned the car since march of last year

Oo deliks kakatakot kung may mangyari hahaha
Thats not ultra . Its base model
It is a rare spec version derived from the Ultra Luxury without satnav. Please refer to the comments of Edward Murray, Matthew Wolfe. The car comes with double paned glass which I mistakenly said otherwise in the video.
Haha, I got this one (05 with air suspension) and 210 e55, they are like sibling sitting in my garage. One is the hot younger sister and the other one is intellectuality older sister lol. Every female, older passengers are impressed by the LS, and every male friends apricate the 210😆
No way? I would go for the LS way more hahaha
@@KyleLiongCars😂drives like aircraft. That’s why I always let my passenger drive and I climb into the back
@garyzhang5099 good choice!!
Can you sell to me this car?
Sorry it's not for sale
Bruh, these cars have the miles rolled back
Nope
Are you interested in selling this car
No
Headliner is alcantara, not felt. Felt is trash. Thin and rough.
Ah I see
Sweeeeeeet
Probs the best example in in the world? (that's still taken out once in a while) minus some museum pieces or forgotten ones :D
Asia got the nicer headlights here in America we got the ugly amber turn signals which makes the car look dated imo this one looks good!
Not just Asia, in general Euro version of a lot of cars especially the Mercs really got that better non-Amber lights. I’m glad my old Mercs are Euro versions too haha
