I can't tell you how many videos I looked at trying to find a simple way to just load my photos into my MacBook Pro (which I just purchased) without going through Photos and Library and Albums. Your method is simplicity at it's finest. Using Photos, Library, and Album leads to complications if you want to transfer your photos to an external drive and use them on another computer. This method is so simple and IT WORKS!!!!

I’m new to MacBook and own the 2021 m1 pro .. when I import the images to Mac I put them in photos app .. but later when I want to import them to Lightroom photoshop etc I can’t do that I can’t find photos there .. even I can export images form Lightroom to photos app, why ?
When I open files from an external source, attached to my MacBook, the preview opens a new window, but closes the folder window. I have to keep opening the folder window to select and view each file. Drives me crazy. I must be doing something wrong.
Is there no proper place to drag files to? What if I don’t want a folder on my desktop? I’m used to opening file explorer on Windows and I can click the photos folder and create a new folder there. Here I don’t see a photos folder and don’t know how to make one. Just see the photos app which is showing me images from my iphone and doesn’t seem like s place to store my images
But where did they get copied to??? This is one of my snags....since this MacAir is not laid out, files wise, like my Windows computer, I do not seem to have a distinct " Photos" file/folder that I can send my photo and their sub folders too

Or, you can empty the SD contents into Photos in one action. You also have the option to delete the card contents in the same action. Edit, delete etc in Photos✌️

i’m having problems transferring videos specifically, they just won’t pop up and i’m currently using and card reader. any advice?
