Shibby, you are mistaken about how the Oilers made the playoffs in 80 and 81'. Division placement had nothing to do with it. During the first two years of the merger, and before the new CBA in 81-82, the playoff format featured literally the best 16 teams seeded in order of total points from both conferences. This is why they drew Philadelphia as a 16 seed and why they drew Montreal as a 14 seed.
Shibby4984 that's rad man. I sure love your videos and look forward to them. I'm sure you don't need anybody telling you what you should do next. but if I could suggest another topic for down the road perhaps an episode about the goons, hammerheads, "Killers" an Oglethorpes!!!!
Historically speaking there have been five Las Vegas based hockey teams since 1968 that have lasted anywhere from 2 seasons (Las Vegas Outlaws & Las Vegas Aces) to 11 seasons (Las Vegas Wranglers). So your eight year prediction does run with the trend. However, while I do have my doubts about the Vegas franchise, I’m gonna hold off any judgement until I see what they put on the ice. I’m approaching this one much like an over-hyped summer blockbuster movie.

My favorite NHL team :)
Duck life but your name is duck life🤔
3 of the 4 franchises have gone on to win Stanley Cups, however, the Oilers were the only one to win it in their original city.
That's true the nordiques became the Avalanche the Jets became the coyotes and the Whalers became the hurricanes
"The team has been rebuilding over the last few years "
Understatement of the decade.
Understatement*
To this day I stand with the Oilers got ROBBED in the 2006 Stanley Cup final
In all honesty, had Roloson not gone down in Game 1 the Oilers would have definitely beaten Carolina for the Cup that year.
@@Lets_Talk_About_Hockey Also they gave Carolina an extended break into the series despite going 7 games with Buffalo.
Would You Consider doing a LTAH episode on NHL Mascots, or The Ugliest Jerseys in Pro Hockey?
Probably Not the Latter as it might to Similar to "The Sweater" episode
Not really sure there would be too much to talk about for a Mascot episode, but I'll look into it to and see.
the best WHA in the NHL
The BigBlue97 the most prolific yes. yet the whalers had the nicest jerseys in the history of the NHL. miss those guys man.
Island Response Videos. very true
The Whalers did not have a good uniform until they became the Hurricanes
Shibby who's your favorite team?
I mainly root for the Red Wings (which is really hard this year), but I also like the Jets too.
So the '90s expansion is next?
For the team centered episodes, yes.
So kind of like how you did these by talking about each team individually.
Shibbs I gotta aks: is it April 9 1984? or September 4 1984. cause if it's the later we have the same birthday!
It's neither actually. I was born in '84, but the 49 is in reference to the number I wore when I won my first championship.

Hmmmm. That could be a possibility. Especially considering how goon hockey spiked in the '70's and is now nearly gone from today's game.
you got it dude. a look at the birth, legacy and demise of goon hockey. what ever you do its always pretty good anyways so keep on keepin on!
The merger,s only successful team to come in and rack up 5 Stanley Cups during the 80s.
Tru metalhead on Maui ey
To bad they suck now
Hey Shibby, I'm gonna bet that the Vegas Golden Knights go about 8 years before going bankrupt, how long do you give em?
