    North Carolina is a top ten team by the end of the season. They are well coached and have a strong program. Hoosiers are consistent, balanced and are playing great basketball. Thompson and Jackson-Davis are playing so calm controlled this season, I love to see it. Xavier is playing in control and unselfish as always. Woodson has IU rolling and finally we can start talking about a run. Teams are gonna play us hard throughout the season and we are gonna be treated to the best Big Ten season in a long time I believe.

    IU-Purdue games will be amazing this year!! Coming from a Purdue fan, I hope IU stays healthy and plays to their potential. Purdue has been surprisingly solid early season, so the rivalry is shaping up to be a great couple of games.

    My favorite play begins at 6:14 left in the 2nd half.
    Trey Galloway works his way around the screen and tips the ball out from behind
    Then, he sprints toward the other end, gathers the pass, and recognizes the defender.
    Then, uses his body as a shield, to backhand spin the ball for the score.

    Gee it's almost as if UNC was overrated this whole time and had no business being anywhere near the #1 ranking. Going on a Tournament run after being mediocre for most of a season shouldn't automatically award you a high ranking for the next season

      Yeah I knew something was up when they barely beat Gardner-Webb on their own court by only 7 points. IU was beating the same level of competition by 30+.

    Carolina is not a very good team. I went to their game against Gardner Webb in Chapel Hill and they only won by six. They have now lost three in a row----all their games against power five teams. To me they looked poorly prepared, completely lacking in confidence and unmotivated. Once they get into conference play they are going to lose a lot of games. And the truth is for most of last year they weren't very good, just going on a run in the tournament at the end. They are completely exposed.

    • @evan7D0
      @evan7D0 Год назад

      If the national rankings were based off raw talent, UNC would be top 5. They just haven’t figured a couple things out mostly offensively. This is how the year always starts for North Carolina teams. By January or February, they will have figured it out. Besides, this part of the season doesn’t really matter.

    • @johngarnergarner6724
      @johngarnergarner6724 Год назад +1

      @@evan7D0 They aren't that talented. And I don't think they will figure it out this year. They just got lucky last year and got on a run. Duke is going to crush them this year and will reign supreme in the ACC. Just watch it's coming. Carolina is lucky that Florida State and Louisville are epically terrible. Maybe they can beat them. The wufpack are better this year than UNC.

    • @evan7D0
      @evan7D0 Год назад +1

      @@johngarnergarner6724 Individually speaking, they are very talented. They just have to figure out how to merge it all together. I wouldn’t call it an ordinary run either last year.

      @learnedhand3623 Год назад +1

      @@johngarnergarner6724 I'm an IU fan and I don't care for them at all. But they absolutely are talented. Nance is significantly better than Race. Bacot, when healthy, is a beast even though he still isn't TJD don't get me wrong. He is not physically right and hasn't been since the ankle injury last year. Black is an all-American level defender. And the backcourt has plenty of talent, and just seems to lack the poise and maturity that one would think they will correct given their level of experience. If Bacot gets the spring back in his step and the backcourt rises to the occasion, they will be dangerous in March. If those things don't happen, they could be a hugely disappointing bubble or first round bounce team. But it won't be for lack of talent.

      @@johngarnergarner6724 Okay 🤡 How did the mighty Devils do against UNC last year? UNC retired the Rat. It's early and UNC hardly ever plays well early in the season. Lucky last year? They were stomping Baylor until the refs swallowed the whistles in the second half and they lost to Kansas by 4.

      2000 Hoosiers v 2013 Hoosiers would be a good battle, but I'll take 2013. 2000 was a little deeper, but 2013 Top 6 were significantly better. Vik could shut down or at least neutralize Guyton better than anyone on 2000 could guard Vik (Guyton was a capable defender, but not on the same planet as Vik and more prone to taking the occasional play off when he wsa carrying the offense). Haston and Newton would have their hands full with Zeller and Watson, but Haston pulling Zeller out of the post and playing stretch could work well for 2000. Yogi and Cloverdale were both Frosh at the time and Cloverdale wasn't nearly as established or good as a Frosh as Yogi was. Hulls and Lewis were both Seniors. Hulls the better shooter, and Lewis the better creator. Sheehey was better than Lynn Washington. Fife wasn't that good as a Sophomore. Elston didn't play much because of how many minutes Zeller and Watson played, but he provided capable senior front court depth. I'll take 2013 in 6 games in a best of 7 series.
