I know this video is old but thanks for these refresher tips. 10 years otr experience and been out of the game for 6 months now going back into it starting this Friday and the company I will be driving for offers to split the profits from the fuel bonus 50/50 between the owner and driver so it's very tempting to learn tips on how to save on fuel.
First of all appointment times now a days require faster driving while still maintaining good mpg. Also my 2017 paccar has ten speeds, it doesn't work well between 55 to 60 mph in the eco band you suggest with a broken in motor. Why you ask, well the steering column vibrates severely trying to strain to maintain a constant speed while going up a 3 to 4 % grade. I can't keep it 9th gear above 60 mph. In certain circumstances it just trays shift back to 10th. It's very annoying to listen to the door bell sound in manual shift mode in 9th gear.
I have 2020 t680 with Cummins x15, I average about 6.5 mpg. I drive about 65mph most of the time. I think it uses too much fuel. Can anybody advice me what should I do?
Fuck, the only reason Im here is because I was hoping she would state the actual fuel range for the truck. im writing a paper and thats the one thing I need that no truck manufacture feels necessary to release

Drive slower? We have to get there on time. Volvo gets better mileage without going slower.

Just get a truck with APU ,I see most of the trucks with APU the engine is still powerful and healthy even with high mileage trucks
Get paid by the mileage but go slower? How about a truck that gets better mileage

Driving slower ? . You have to be realistic. You have to match engine Power, rear end ,and transmission ratios the right way

mine gets 10.3mpg while bobtail.. & between 8.1-9.4 loaded. 2019 t680 but thats with a 13cylander paccar. (they get alot of hate but get great mpg)
