This was a mini roller coaster to film, but I'm so glad I did it!! How was the video length? Too long or should I have kept it going? There was so much footage but I didn't want to overdo it 😬 as always thank you so much for watching! ❤
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 when I saw 16 mins I was like right let’s get comfy I enjoy watching your videos so much.
@@Horizon.carcare Ahh thank you!! Good to know 😁
Length was perfect.
Coffee time length. 😀
Not too long, I think you distilled it just fine. Shorter would also have been not enough I think, this was important and you needed sufficient time to relay that.
@@Ratty_Rex haha great to hear! Thank you for the feedback :)
My obsession with old BMWs is what brought me to your channel, and I'm so thankful it did. Your storytelling and cinematography is just incredible.
This is so kind of you, thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
I almost forget the UK is like an island and you guys have beaches. Its not all cobblestone and pubs. and yeah...... don't drive BMWs in beach sand. Its a bad time. You are an incredible editor. Don't ever stop just doing random things and letting us see it through your eyes. Its a blast.
Haha the coast isn't really that far from me and I still forget 🤦♀️ thank you for your kind words!
Charlotte... the production value of this is incredible, I didn't want it to end. Your choice of words, shots and music was spot on, it felt like I was watching a movie.
Dudeee, thank you thank you thank you 🥹❤️

You rocked it.
59 years old, diagnosed at 57. I have always been a traveler. Still figuring it out; always will be.
Alone and awkward is the way it is on beaches...and in the cities, the deserts (but never the desserts, when it's only awkward), the forests. It's just the way we autists are. But, it's WONDERFUL when you find your way (literally , figuratively, totally.) If you happen to find my (very sporadic) travel blog, you'll see that travel is amazing.*
The words in our heads are always the best even if they are sooooooooooo loud. Pictures are all about that "capture what YOU wanted image" not the subsequent filter. And, as you noted, it could always be worse.
Kudos to Alex, he's a good mate/friend/pal/bud. Treasure folks like him.
I'm spending September in Malaysia. Yes, there is always safe food around, even in places far from home. A place that is multicultural at the core, e.g., Malaysia, will have such a variety of food you will not go hungry nor search long. If it goes well, I will move there. (Affordable, great people, amazing food, few natural disasters, great travel hub, and so much more.)
Start at your pace, stay at your pace - the adventures (food and otherwise) will come at the right rate. Issues will fade with time. Happiness, success, joy and more will follow.
It's a struggle; a very worthwhile struggle. Get out there.
Autisticly amazed, amused, and awed,
J
* Most places view hospitality and kindness as both an obligation and luxury at the same time. I treasure sharing in it. And, with little more than Please, Thank You, Good Morning/day/eve/night in the local tongue goes so far.
Firstly, I absolutely love the way you write/word things. This made me smile! Thank you for not judging my worries about safe food too, I really appreciate the tips and reassurance! Malaysia sounds amazing, and I hope you have a wonderful time there. Thank you for your kind words ❤️

Funny how "composition" is so fundamental: mere words, notes, and images can become essays, scores, and artwork.
😀
When you were struggling halfway through this video, it brought tears to my eyes.
I've mentioned before that my youngest daughter (she's 22 now) has ADHD and struggles with it from time to time, probably a LOT more than I realise - and seeing you getting upset about something us "normal people" would just take in our stride kinda brings it home how much of a triumph just making it through a difficult day can be for some.
I think you're doing great, and WHEN you make it to Northumberland (NOT IF!!!), I hope you can look back and see how brilliant you are!
I think this might just be your best video yet and I now feel the need to say publicly just how damned proud I am of you and so proud to be your mum, you amazing little human! Filming yourself filming on the skateboard, falling over in the sand dunes, forgetting to take essentials... that's my girl! 😂We definitely need a weekend, just the two of us, playing on a beach! 😄
Love you mumma ❤❤

“Maybe it’ll be a complete failure, then again maybe it won’t” best saying ever❤❤❤ and I love the way you film it’s just amazing I’m excited to see the next video 😊
Ahh thanks so much!! ❤️
You have blossomed into that unique filmmaker I always knew you would become. This was sheer perfection from start to finish. Your quick editing is superlative. Pacing, camerawork and music so very spot on. Yes, you could have made it longer because glimpses of your life are always a welcome edition to ours. It makes me so happy to watch you get better and better. This was your epic. Congratulations!😊
Damn, thank you so much!! Working hard to improve, so I really appreciate this feedback :) I really enjoyed making a longer video, I'm just conscious of not wanting to bore you guys haha! Thank you ❤️
Thanks for your kind reply. You could never bore us. Remember the video you did where you held up the sign that read “HUMAN”? This is why we love your videos. They are from the heart; warm, open, honest….human. As I said before, this is you documenting your life and we are glad (and lucky) to come along with you. When you broke down on the beach, I lost it. These are the moments where we root for you. And we want to continue to support you and your vision. Please have a wonderful weekend!
15:10 I've found that I love photography because it trains me to look for beauty in the world.
For going new places I absolutely love street view on map services. I'll familiarize myself with my destination, the road there, alternative routes, landmarks in the skyline so I can orient myself if the battery dies etc. It helps a lot with feeling prepared.
I appreciate this drawing on both the "inspirational and artful" and vlog format.
Loved this!

Video length - perfect. Hi hello from fellow ASD BMW gang (E85). Please keep being you, please keep doing what you do. Your vids and your editing are so on point. I offer all the hugs and none of the hugs (because I know how overwhelming it is when you absolutely do not want to be touched).
Just keep being you. Your journey is so inspiring and your vids are a pleasure to watch. All the ASD love!
(Am I wrong to think that an ASD BMW owners fest would go down a storm?🤣)
It would either go down a storm, or we'll have lots of people shutting down in corners and hiding in their cars 😂😂 thank you so much for this comment though, I really appreciate your kind words!! Also thank you for the non-hug, hug 😂❤️
I also spent my childhood holidays in Northumberland. Now, 30 years later, I live here because it was the only place I wanted to be and I needed the big skies. There are some unbelievably good driving roads 👌 Fantastic video!
It must be such a peaceful place to live! And oh yes, I'm well aware and looking forward to the driving roads haha 😅

HAHA, the skateboard camera shot was the best! Great video Charlotte, thanks and keep it up!
a rare moment where i actually laughed out loud
😂😂 glad you liked it! Thanks Ash!!
Yes I lol,d..😆
Awesome video Charlie 👌🏻10-15mins is perfect… the main thing is that you don’t overload yourself or create too much expectation/pressure on yourself. You have a natural gift for storytelling and video editing. Desiring to be creative does not make you an imposter, it makes you human! But definitely you light up when in company. We all need some alone time, but don’t isolate yourself in pursuit of feeling more accomplished. Plan your trips around visiting friends. I highly recommend booking yourself onto walking tours or cycle tours of cities if you are travelling alone. It means you’ll at least have some contact with people even if it’s a small group you don’t know beforehand. Keep going 😄✌🏻🤟🏻
Thank you for this! The walking tours are a good idea, though I'll need to build up to something like that first😅 really appreciate your advice!
Oh, ya got me with the practice correction 😍
😂😂 in all honesty I realised halway through but didn't have any more clean board so couldn't re-do it haha
I used to race a 1991 E34 in the "24 Hours of Lemons." Bernie is da bomb. And, much more robust than you think (literally, just like you!). And, a lot more reliable than you expect. It's her previous owners that get the shade, not her!
It's honestly another dream of mine to race, so I'm super jealous and think it's really cool that you have! Especially in an e34 🥹 and thank you, she's definitely been around haha, but I'm hoping if I'm nice to her she'll be nice to me 😂
Well a solo adventure, good for you, looks like you enjoyed yourself eventually. I love the fact you wiggled some wires to sort out the dashboard lights lol
When in doubt just wiggle things 😂😂 thank you!
@CharlotteElizabeth3000 That's ok, you can defo tick that off, Certified mechanic, solo adventurer. And explore other places that you might of visited as a child 🙃
We get you Charlotte ❤you do you. I'm glad you asked a friend for company, absolutely the right call.
Thank you ❤ and me too!
I think you did really great.
The challenges, insecurities and difficulties you faced and expressed really struck me, you captured them beautifully
Your adventure to recapture memories that mean a lot to you may seem like it was not ideal but what you have done is created new memories and experiences to be happy about and share with others. Never let go of what makes you happy but rejoice in the journey you are now taking. Years from now you’ll be proud of what you have accomplished. Please keep going and continue to be happy with your life
Like @AwesomeAd64 said, I came for Bernie and I've stayed for the vibe. I find your videos incredibly relaxing - I don't know if it's the music choice, the cinematography style, the editing, the cadence of the narration or what, but they're a chill ride while you talk about what are actually serious topics that can have huge implications for your life and others who are neurodivergent*. Anyway.. it is nice, I like. /borat**
*Never diagnosed but nobody who knows me would say I'm neurotypical, I'm definitely on a spectrum somewhere!
**Also incapable of being entirely serious for too long.
So I'm not the only one with a bear strapped into the back seat of my BMW! Setting attainable goals that push you just a bit seems the right way to go. Keep making these great videos!🐻
Excellent video. I’ve never written a comment on RUclips before despite spending so much time watching it but felt that I had to for this. Your style is just so different and well produced compare to all the rest of the generic that I watch. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next and following your Bernie/ASD/RUclips journey.
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write this and I feel honoured that you chose to leave your first comment here! Your kind words are really appreciated ❤️
As a detectorist for many years- keep that search head as low as you can to the ground! You’ll get deeper objects. You are beautiful and seem like a lovely person. Cheers!👍🇬🇧
Loved this. It was almost like a music video in some way. Cool shots, nice scenery, great story, etc. Looking forward to seeing your next ‘real’ trip 👍🏼
I can really connect with this film. The anxiety of the unknown and what could happen, been alone and navigating new experiences, when the thoughts in your head become so loud it’s hard to focus but you did absolutely incredibly 😊
Thank you for this Alice! ❤️
Clicked this randomly not expecting to like it but ended up watching the whole thing. Absolutely superb! We're going on a road trip around Scotland at the end of the month, if I get half the beautiful footage you've managed I'll be chuffed! What cameras do you use? The image quality is off the charts!
Also is it all log footage? I'm not sure what to record in in case I screw it up
Ah well thank you for clicking and staying! I use the sony zv1-ii for all my talking to camera and documentary stuff, then my sony A7ii for some of the close up stuff in the intro (but this has terrible stabalisation so I only use it for static shots), and my friend uses the sony A7Siii with GM 24-70 lens - all the cinematic b-roll stuff towards the end of the video were shot by my friend on his set up! And yes everything shot in slog3 :)
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 thanks ever so much :)
RUclips needs more channels like yours. And more videos like this. This was just great.
Wow, thank you 🥹❤️

Thank you for sharing this! I love hearing other peoples driving stories :) also very cool you're from Poland, my friend has been trying to teach me Polish! Thank you for your kind words, as always 😊❤️
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 i'll bet he want to teach you how to say "KUUURWA" hahah
Your video is very helpful, especially for this time of my life, I am planning on moving to a bigger firm to push myself to work with a larger group of people and get over my social anxiety and I’ve been feeling quite down. And thinking what if I’m not good enough and won’t be able to do the job. But it’s true in order to get better you should surround yourself with people that are better. I also struggle with doing things on my own and get anxious about it, you are quite relatable.
It's really difficult to ignore those thoughts, but I really hope your time at the new firm is everything you want it to be! Though the thoughts will still be there from time to time, it's good to have a talk with yourself and remind yourself of all that you have accomplished so far ❤️
The rate at which your videos are increasing in depth and perspective is really astounding.
I did a trip like this once. But in a 1985 Jetta. Once I got to the beach, I had no idea whatsoever what to do. I also went in the off-season, so most of the things at the beach were closed. Five hour drive. Not even sure why I did it.
my Daddy used to take the family 1988 VW Golf to a local VW Porsche Audi mechanic and I'll never forget the times where id wander into the driver seat of cars parked in the lot and just fiddle around with the gear lever and shift around like i knew what it was. Plus the one time i went inside to use the bathroom, i saw at least a dozen 911 Porsches from the 70's and late 80's. That moment I knew why i liked the scent of brake cleaner and motor oil in a garage :). 9:43 a-ha! Code tacos! You've put a movie together with this video, way to go.
This video was brilliant and really resonated with me and my own struggles through life. Thanks!
moral of the story... DO THE THING.
Whatever your thing is, whatever reasons you think of to not do the thing.
DO THE THING.
It's just so true!!
Great filming, loved the photography and your natural presenting. Just keep doing it the way you are. I’m sure it also made other people smile and bring enjoyment.
You remembered a metal detector, but not a tooth brush? That's impressive! I think it would have been good at the start of your trip to mention where you were going - as it wasn't completely obvious this wasn't the big trip. A voice over or a title would have been good. Even just saying how far you were going or that you definitely weren't going to Northumbria yet would have helped. Great shots and editing as usual! Loved the animated graphics too - you should add more (if it isn't too painful). You should do a European road trip after your trip North goes well!
Thank you for this feedback!! I honestly thought the same, and I did have more but cut it at the last minute because I thought it would be too boring for everyone 🤦♀️🤦♀️ but I'll definitely keep working to get better at storytelling! And making my motives clearer 😂 thank you ❤️
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 the length is fine and it doesn't really need much - maybe just a title on top of you driving off. But it really is a minor quibble - you're doing great!
Fantastic video Charlotte! Thing's don't always go the way you'd hoped, doesn't mean you're not good enough. Doesn't mean it won't make a good video either, actually it adds a more relatable human element to it, and the talk of anxiety etc was super relatable for me. Wherever you go, whether things go to plan or not, people will relate and they will watch for YOU. Keep being awesome :)
I watched your first bernie video out of curiosity, since then have followed your journey, so refreshingly open, honest and relevant, we all feel parts of what you describe, along with your amazing film making skills, we will continue to keep you company on here!
This is really lovely of you, thanks so much :) I think most came out of curiosity haha, but it makes me so happy that so many of you stuck around! Thank you ❤️
Great video, loved it! two things i want to say:
➡as a former E32 owner i can totally understand your "please just make it there... just this time... please... PLEASE..." stress
➡that "what to do alone on a beach?" scene killed me! loved it!
Haha, thank you!! It's a stress I've become accustomed to with driving classics for over a decade, and most people will never understand why I continue to drive them 😅
This is very emotionally provoking, and informative. Excellent presentation and edits. Thank you so much for opening up and sharing.
Yasssss another video and not only a Bernie one, but a Bernie roadtrip one. Lets goooooo
EDIT: wrote this before or rather while watching. Already loving the mindmap and the little comments to yourself on the mindmap
Aww Charlotte, this video got me deep in the feels 🥺 There’s a lot that I relate to here, and I’m sorry you feel imposter symdrome sometimes. You have such a beautiful soul and you’re bringing a lot of happiness into people’s lives by sharing your own through your videos 🥰 I loved this video, and it was awesome to see you having a laugh with Alex and making a success of your “practice trip” despite a bumpy start.
I lost it at “I don’t have a snack. I’m right here babe” He’s a quick one! 😂
I never thought I would relate to another human being as much as I do to you.
In 2022 I made my first solo road trip south to Tennessee (round trip it was bout 32 hours of driving (3541km)). On the return trip I had the biggest panic attack of my life and ended up leaving my checkpoint hotel at midnight just because I wanted to get home so badly, which was still 8 hours away. It was probably one of the worst emotional experiences of my life. I did the same trip again the following year.
I'm still struggling with RUclips even after 10 years of it and my autism just doesn't let pep talks affect me. It just thinks it's all nonsense.
But I have to do it. I have to chase that dream I always had.
this adventure looks so cool, i wish i could do the same. i literally had my first epileptic seizure a couple weeks ago, so my license is suspended for 6 months. also, i was alone at a crowded area, so im terrified of being by myself. we both have our struggles, and to see u overcome them helps give me strength to go on. i really do look forward to every video, but i hope that doesn’t make u feel like there’s this high expectation put on u.
I am so very sorry to hear this ❤️ I can't imagine how that must feel. Get your rest and look forwards to when you are able to get out there! Thank you for your kind words :)
Superb stuff as usual. You produce such an amazing content that I would not be bored watching longer videos. I really like your editing. You talk about emotions and abstract sides of autism, those can be difficult to describe for some people. Your content is not shallow and that's why I dig it ❤ I must have watched your autism video at least 20 times 😂 Fellow autist here.
Ahh thank youuu!! Really kind words, and totally get the watching something over and over haha. Really appreciate this 🥹❤️
Definitely keep going with the videos. They are really good.
Discovered your channel not too long ago, been loving the content! Can relate very hard to the imposter syndrome thing. It’s a real bugger some days, so you have my sympathy for sure.
Honestly, I’m down for the longer videos as long as they’re not too much more of a hassle for you to edit. Liked the editing on this one, some real good music choices especially.
Stay safe everyone!
You can always tell a fellow brit by their word choice of 'bugger' 😂 thank you for this! And I appreciate the feedback ❤️
I hope you hear nothing but praise when I say you turn awkwardness into an art form. "The art of awkward." I just coined a phrase. I'm serious though. You're so good at just being yourself in front of the camera. You make it look easy.
I was talking to a friend this morning, and told her she needed to ease up on her perfect script readings and just talk to the camera. People would always rather see authenticity than perfection.
Thanks for another amazing video. I learn things from you on every one
I love this!! I really am an awkward person so I don't really know how else to be haha, so I appreciate your kind words! It's so true though, I hope your friend finds her 'groove' and can be herself. It's much easier and more sustainable than being perfect. Thank you again for your kind words :)
I wish i had even a tenth of your creativity! Love that shot you got of you talking while pushing yourself along on a skateboard. My ADHD/possibly Autistic daughter is INCREDIBLY artistic and impulsive and has such a staggeringly impressive way with words and a photographic memory. I could picture her in the future having a RUclips channel of her own full of her crazy adventures.
Ahh this is sweet of you! Thank you! Your daughter sounds awesome, may she succeed in her dreams and adventures 👌❤️
Very nice!!! Your videos are inspiring. I always feel like I learn something about camera angles and editing from them. Also, I suffer from crimpling social anxiety, and I appreciate your story. Looking forward to your trip!!!!
Ahh thank you for this!! I'm still learning on the go honestly, so it's lovely to hear that you've learnt something too! Fully understand the social anxiety, totally didn't have to walk as far down the beach as I possibly could to avoid being seen filming 👀😂 thank you for your kind words!
Charolotte!! What an excellently done video!! I laughed out loud a quite a bit and your video brightened my mood. From filming yourself while filming yourself on the skateboard, to the mind map for the practice trip, or forgetting some of your things for the trip, or the expert wiggle of the wires to fix Bernie. Keep being you, keep being real, and watch your channel grow. Tell that imposter in your head to go kick rocks, because girl, you are far better at this, and at life than you give yourself credit for. This trip seemed to make you nervous because you seem to put a lot of expectations on yourself. I have the same problem but when it comes to traveling I've learned a trick! I remind myself that the best adventure is for the most part unplanned and nothing has to be perfect. I basically hit the road and plan very little. The first time is terrifying, be cause you know... WHAT IF?!?!?! But after you've forced yourself to do that a couple times you get used to the unknown, realize what an awesome adventure it can be and learn to embrace it. I did a few small unplanned day trips like that and then finally last summer I took two weeks off and just vaguely planned an epic trip. I had never been to the ocean and decided at 41 years old, it was time to go see it in person. I gave myself two weeks to travel from Ontario Canada, all the way to Key West Florida USA. (2500km there, and 2500km back home) I planned where I would stay for the first night and then just figured out the rest as I went from then on. It turned out to be the most epic adventure of my life. I met so many cool people, and everyone I talked to was very kind. I slept in a tent at camp grounds some nights, slept in cheap hotels other nights and even spent a couple nights at an ocean side beach resort. I loved the resort so much I stayed for two nights. Basically I'd wake up in the morning, looked at the map and chose a direction to head in and just found a place to stay when I'd had enough for the day. I would also stop and explore anywhere that looked interesting during the day. I did a tone of soul searching on that trip and like you, I laughed some, and I cried some too, but it was very therapeutic. I learned what an absolute bad ass I can be if I set my mind to it and tell that imposter in my brain to just shut the heck up!
Well that's enough of my rant, sorry for the novel. lol Please keep making these videos and keep challenging yourself! I'll gladly follow along on your life adventure! Much love and I hope you have an absolute blast on your trip!!
Damnnn. Thank you for this comment!! Your trip sounds like a movie haha, it's so lovely to hear that you just went out and did it! That's what my dad would do when I was a kid and we went road tripping, just set off and consult the map later! I can definitely feel myself getting braver haha, so I'm looking forward to the next trip. I hope that you have many more adventures too! Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write this comment :)
I adore your way of storytelling. I rejoice every time a new video notification comes up.
Epic..... you are killin it girl!!!! Keep going!!!!❤❤❤
Travelling and making memories is one of the best things you can do in life, especially when you're young. In 1987 I went to Spain with my then girlfriend Sue and a pal called Andrew Bibby or ''Bibby'' as he was known. We'd previously been on holiday and the reps we'd befriended offered us work. We literally packed uo our stuff and headed for the Costa Brava in my old 1962 Ford Zephyr 6. How it ever made it the 1000 miles to our destination I'll never know. Obviously there was no satnav then either and getting around Paris was a nightmare. Thankfully we saw a coach we recognised and followed it till we could see where we were on our map. We had an amazing few months and nearly 40 years later I'm still in touch with Sue and have some incredibly fun memories of the time there. Sadly Bibby died about 10 years ago but I remember what a fun chap he was. Don't let fear stop you from making the most of your life. Especially when those fears and just figments of our imagination. :) I just sold my E34 by the way and have a rare E36 318is saloon now. I've had old BMW's ever since I got home from that trip. Anyway, have fun! Mark :)
Wow, what a wonderful story, thank you for sharing this! So sorry to hear about Bibby though. I will definitely be making the most of everything from now on, as you never know what life is going to throw at you! Really, thank you for this ❤️
YES! Please make more of these adventure videos with you and Bernie! Its also great that we get to see the others in your life too. I'm looking forward to the next one!
I hope you do continue this series plan, not only is the content unique, interesting and engaging, but also the memories youll gain through the process will be priceless x
This was an awesome video! The fantastic storytelling, video production and editing aside, this was just a great adventure so thanks for bringing us along! Especially as someone who also deals with general/social anxiety, etc., I really appreciate you showing us the realness of life and travel as well. Inspirational stuff, can't wait to see what comes next!
My first car was a 1984 E23 733i, and oh boy was I not ready for BMW reliability, maintenance, or especially fuel costs lol... but I really loved that car, and ultimately that's what matters, and allows you to deal with the headache of cool vintage car ownership.
Also, love the Ovation ;)
Im halfway through, its ok not to know what the next thing is, you're doing a great job. You're not scrapping it, you did amazing, knocked it out the park. Next video please....
Thank you so much ❤
How does this not have more views?!? You’re style and storytelling is incredible, and somehow also very relatable! Well done!!!
Wow, thank you so much! 🥹
Only 6 months ago I started having obvious signs of ADHD but I've had some signs of AuDHD my whole life, and maybe the anxiety I didn't know I had has been keeping it all in check until now. So I hear you on imposter syndrome. Good job rolling with it, wherever the trip and the things forgotten take you.
Gonna keep this brief: it happens to feel lost, to feel out of place, to be on a road that, seemingly, doesn't belong to you in the silghtest.
That doesn't mean there's something wrong in you, or that you are trying to fool yourself into being someone different. You are just starting to understand yourself, by getting out there. It's scary, I'm well aware of that, but you managed to face it. With a little bit of help, sure, but... It's a start. Make it count.
Charlie, you did good.
Thanks for sharing it with us. As for the video, 15/20 minutes is just the perfect length, and you did an awesome job with it. Keep it up.
I really appreciate your kind words and reassurance 🥹❤️ thank you!
Amazing video and I feel quite related to it: Next week I'm taking the car and doing a camping trip alone and I feel everything you said here, about doing a solo trip. I even feel weird doing a solo going out for a movie, or some drinks or whatever.
But it is a struggle that, in the end, makes it worth it. You meet new places, new people, have time for yourself and a sense of accomplishment when you manage to overcome the snags you hit along the way.
Masterful editing with this one - so good!
Came to your channel for the car. Stayed for the stunning storytelling, baller cinematography and human nature of the content. Waiting for this channel to blow up! Also, Northumberland is magic so thank you for sharing it
Some of the most memorable things are when stuff goes wrong! you're only in them for a fraction of time compared to a lifetime you'll spend looking back (even fondly)
I recently had an autism diagnosis. It wasn't a surprise but it was useful to know why I thought and did what I did all these years. I'm comfortable being me so, I just carry on.
However, I did check out some channels on YT and they all involve someone sitting in their room, talking to the camera about this week's aspect of autism, with maybe some graphs thrown in and those royalty free shots of people vaguely doing something related to the content.
Where your channel differs is you don't do any of that. You don't have a weekly autism lecture, which is refreshing, as they are all bloody the same, Your USB is your ability to tell a story and give thought to how to film it and make it flow, which I presume your mate helped you with.
So, don't beat yourself up. You make good content, it's visually interesting, you think about how editing can assist the narrative and you're good on camera. You are relatable.
On the Beemer front, it's an old motor. 30 year plus cars go wrong. Nature of the beast but it's a cool car, which is presumably why you drive it and of course the memories that it evokes of your father.
It's all good mate.
I really, really appreciate this! More than you could know. I did start off with a few of those style autism videos, as you can probably see, but quickly found that it was not my cup of tea so to speak 😅 but yes I've always wanted an old bmw, ever since I can remember being in my dads! Thank you again for this, and it's good to hear that a diagnosis has been useful to you!
Fantastic, thank you for sharing. You have a real talent. This is the best content I've seen in a long time and look forward to the next one. Previous owner of two E34 BMW's, I feel your connection.
Found your channel for the BMW, but with this video you have gone to another level, the filming, your story, production, music all first class, excellent.
I really, really appreciate this 🙏thank you!
You have to be the most wholesome person on RUclips. It’s always a pleasure to see what’s coming next, and remember….the journey never ends.
Oh 🥹 this is really lovely of you to say, thank you!
Yeah so you really wanted someone to parallel play with, you know doing something you want to do and just have someone to be there or even let them take the lead and follow around. Been there! Hanging out watching my friend play video games not wanting to play myself but just content in watching.
Haha, any time I don't have to think for myself and can just follow someone else is 👌😂😂 in all seriousness, it's a huge boost in confidence and also for learning. Thank you for commenting!
Fantastic job . Great video keep doing what your doing it was spot on . Good job on the pre flight checks on the beemer your doing more than most classic car owners . 👍For having a go thats the fun part of a classic . Lovely coast line cant beat the north .
She’s here I’m so happy 🤩🤩 looking forward to this video. Well done on completing your trip and looks like you have made a great friendship through youtube and im sure that you will make many more. Also well done bernie for making the trip to. looking forward to seeing more adventures in the future. Thank you for the upload i can relate so much to this video being autistic myself
Thank you so much for this!! Definitiely more adventures to come 😁 nice to hear you can relate, thank you for watching ❤️
Another Adventure. Unfortunatly not able to watch it today, Put it on my watchlist, and will watch it tomorrow.
You dragged me into you story so well that if this video was 30 minutes long, I would still watch it pauzing
Love that I 'dragged' you in 👌😂 thank you so much!
These editing skills crazy !
Delightful Video, thanks Charlotte!
Ahh thank you!! ❤
Finally been able to watch the video. I struggle with vacation too. I actively don't use my vacation days at work during summer season. I still don't have had any vacation.
I have different reasons, but they stem from the same basic core. Its funly weird to look back and see how a trivial error can feel as a catastrophe to autistic persons, (Myself included)
What has helped me, is to tell myself: I can figure out a solution, but I have had years of experience to get confident to believe that myself.
This Authumn, I wish to do a roadtrip, but I dont want to do the planning, to help overcome. So, I have been toying around with the consept of making AI plan my trip.
I love your true story, because it really hits close to home.
As an attempted tip of the day: You can figure out a solution :)
Thank you for sharing this! You're totally right, there's always a solution, just gotta take a step back. Sometimes very hard to do, but I really appreciate your advice!
This is a kind of RUclips videos that deserves to be seen.
Very interesting, this is a kind of therapy in some point.
Keep up the good job!!!!
Thank you so much!! So kind of you to say ❤️
I remember mum's e30 320i in the late 80's. After being a passenger in grandad's B.L. cars with seats you sank into, I now recall how firm the grey fabric seats were.
All the Holidays I have had. I have always had to know what I want to do and where to go and do it. So I have to have a week plan. Good on you for trying something out of your usual routine.
Absolutely brilliant! Very nicely filmed and raw. I have to say I’m getting Natalie Lynn vibes! I need an Alex too! I have no RUclips friends and I think it helps to bounce ideas off and learn from fellow RUclipsrs.
Great job 👍
Fantastic! Still sticking by the opinion of the best storyteller I’ve seen on RUclips in a long time! I think this is a great length video, a bit longer would not be terrible either!
This is lovely of you! Thank you ❤️
so much talent.. loved that one
cant wait for the next 🤩
greetings from "the twitch overwatch dude"
Thank youuuu!! Haha always remember you when your name pops up ❤️
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 💪🏻😂 much love from switzerland
as a father of a pre teen daughter with the same insecurities and fears about life that you have shared, gives me hope she will be able to face them head on, as you have done. you are an inspiration and keep making enjoyable content. thank you for sharing your life journey as it will help so many others! cheers from canada :)
Honestly classic cars and nostalgia is such a beautiful thing Charlotte...😊 I'm like that all.the time in my Beetle 😊..and yes I put diesel in my petrol camper fuel.tank 😅
Just seen your channel. Superb! Your sense of sardonic humour is just like mine. Well done. Never doubt what you’re capable of, many people of your age would never have been able to have done what you’ve achieved and you’re a unique personality.
Haha, thank you! Really appreciate the kind words ❤️
Loved it, still love the old beemer, I hate new cars. Love the courage you show in laying yourself bare to us on YT, you’re a great content creator and editor.
Also. I love your style. 👌
Damn, thank you very much for this!!
Awesome video! Your standards must be sky high if you thought any of this wasn’t great. You obviously have the talent to make a compelling story out of whatever happens, so it’s silly to worry if things don’t go as planned or if you “mess up” along the way. That’s how you learn and get even better. I’m looking forward to your next great story.
Screenshotting this for future use 😂 thank you for the straight talk, I appreciate it!
your definitely good enough, and shouldn't feel like an imposter at all, love your cinematograph, and i love old bmw's too! i have an 05 v8 manual 5 series, keep up the good work girl. 😊
Another really good video, the videography and edits are fantastic. The ‘test’ trip is was a good plan. My eldest who has Asperger’s did something similar earlier this year. He wants to go to Japan, but has started small to get used to solo travel.
Thank you for sharing this! I'm glad I'm not the only one 😅 I hope your son makes it to Japan and has an incredible time!
As someone who's had a crack at making RUclips myself I can tell you you're not alone with the feeling of imposter syndrome, especially when you're creating content on your own. It's so easy to get stuck in your own head and think that nothing you do is good enough, but that's where doing stuff with friends can make a huge difference, even if its just for them to tell you to stop being ridiculous and just do the thing!
Sooo true! Definitely something I've been struggling with, but meeting other people and youtubers and talking about stuff has been really helpful! Thank you for sharing :)
I enjoyed this video, creative, well expressed and insightful. You have a nice energy. Love the backstory of your trips in your dad's E30.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this :)
8:00 nobody really knows what they're doing I guess haha but I love the video!
And the car, of course! It inspired me to get an old BMW that I wanted for some time as well!
Ayy, glad to hear it! Everyone needs an old bmw at some point haha ❤️
"Your only new at it once". Think about that. The emotions, feelings of insecurity and imposter syndrome etc. that come along with new things, new experiences will fade. As I've aged, I realized that once you learn something, get proficient at it, experienced it repeatedly, obtain expert level even, those strong emotions fade, and it can turn into routine. And for me, now, I long for those emotions when you are new at something. Its a time of doubt, sensory over load, and heightened emotion. I feel those emotions are a journey of discovery, and your senses are fully aware during the "new" period. And I miss that feeling sometimes. Hope this makes sense, Cheers!
It does make sense! I haven't looked at it this way before, so thank you for this ❤️
‘Being overtaken by stationary objects’ 😁
Slightly different but I remember rebuilding the fuel pump of my 205 GTI at Bamburgh castle. Using nothing but things I could find in the local shop. Always nice adventures in Northumberland
Oh damn! Haha, definitely an adventure to remember! Fingers crossed I don't have to encounter anything like that I'll probably just abandon it there 😂
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 nooooo see it as an adventure and a little achievement if you can go on these little road trips. Hats off to you for giving it a try and documenting it on here, it serves as inspiration to others. Also got me looking at old BMWs even though I’ve already got a 17 year old 1 series 🙃
I keep seeing your videos cause I'm sub'd and it makes me cry and hug my E30 because everytime I think I'm ready to let go I just cant. I have an F30 more modern now, shes different I love her but not my first love.
You are most probably good enough, and definitely better than you think !
Even though you are several years younger than me, I also went on holidays with my parents e30
And I have the e24 and e28 instead of the e34.
I also recognized the square format photos as Instamatic photos, that was my first camera, probably around 8-10 years old.
Through the pandemic, short car journeys with my camera kept me (relatively) sane !
Everything is so relatable !
Thank you! Ooh e24 👌👌 I did the same during lockdown too, minus the sane bit 😂
Great video I really enjoyed watching it.
I’m definitely not a stranger to imposter syndrome and even if I plan out a trip 3 times over I still mange to forget some stuff.
Last year I managed to forget chain lube on a big motorcycle trip😂. Now I can laugh about it and just because such behaviour is not perceived well by society it doesn’t mean that its uncommon.
You make awesome videos. I wish you all the best for your future projects. :)
