Wicked has so many reasons to be a person's favorite. The singing, the script, the actors(possibly the sweetest and greatest people ever), and.... THE COSTUMES! I'd most likely give my life just to have one of the costumes from this number in my possession, simply amazing!
We're doing this for choir and in one of our rehearsals our animateur's voice was going, so she said 'the wizard ... will be loud'! It was fricking hilarious, but I guess you probably had to be there to appreciate it
Watched it live in london, absolutely brilliant, my friends convinced me to come even though I don't like the wizard of oz and I'm so glad I went, best musical I've ever watched (and I've watched a lot).
My choir is singing this song in a concert. In fact, I'm in the car with my iPhone on the way to the school! Can't wait! This is everyones favorite song! (other songs are pets call the whole thing off and why we sing) I kno. Sux right! Only 3 songs! But the band is playing 2. I'm gonna stop this comment b4 it gets 2 long. Wait... 2 late. =/
Our show choir a group older than us did this song and we only saw them preform it during rehersals so I thought the words were " Watch your day in the Emerald City " they also did " The merry odd land of Oz" From "the wonderful wizard of Oz" and " He's the Wiz"
Although I think it is a universal story, the history of 19th century Amtrica plays a large patr in the structure, symbolism and themes of this work, and America can be rightly proud of this literary classic.
Helen Dallimore is Austrailian not British. I was fortunate enough to see Kerry & Helen in Jan. 2007 - Both were awesome! Can't wait for Kerry to take Broadway by storm - her strong vocals add that edge to Elphaba that is only closely matched by Carmen Cusack - Idina was fantastic, and has a wonderful recording vocal. Kerry's new CD with two new recordings from Wicked comes out in July!
I dont understand why people insist on fighting about "whos the better Glinda" or "Whos the better Elphaba" seriously people? Do you have nothing better to do than criticize people for something you cant even come close to doing yourselves?? Think about it, If they are on broadway or west end...they wouldnt have gotten the parts if the casting directors thought they sucked! Just enjoy each performers take on the character for what it is!!
Me, I like the accents, I'm english and used to tthe accent and I think it suits the character quite well. The singing is great too. The american accented songs throw me off cause I'm not used to them, but I don't say they're ruined! I love them, actually... Anyways, awesome, thanks!
i did the wicked medley for my school concert it was awesome and it was so cool :) and i almost forgot... H.A.G.S (post to another place like you tube say that i told you to do it)
No offence or anything but I agree with the person who said Glinda was bad, I've seen this live and the two girls are so much better - but I haven't seen the Broadway one, only the London one, Rachel Tucker will always be my Elphie 😍☺
Wow... I love this song, but I forgot about the part where she says "I want to remember this moment, always. Nobody's pointing, nobody's staring, for the first time, I'm somewhere where I belong." That made me feel so bad for her!!!! Thankfully they came back in with giant Wiz-o-mania characters. :D
How could you not know what Into The Woods is? It's a musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. Bernadette Peter was the witch. Watch it on Netflix.

You're just looking at the songs, but if you follow the actual plays, you'll love it. Believe me when I tell you, you won't be disappointed.
I love this song with the London cast. Their accents are so fun.
We're doing this for choir and in one of our rehearsals our animateur's voice was going, so she said 'the wizard ... will be loud'! It was fricking hilarious, but I guess you probably had to be there to appreciate it

Glinda with a prim and proper British Accent is utterly perfect.
I enjoyed my time in the Emerald City. ;) It blew me away like I've never been blown away! I would have been more satisfied if it was longer, though.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for posting this!
I agree! Idina and Kristin have the best chemistry! They will never be matched as a pair! I wish I could have seen them together.
Nice to be on-board, skipper!
I loved 'Chamelion Solutions', by the way, and I had a really good laugh at the ghostbuster wallpaper.. that's inspired!

Learnt part of the dance for this at Pineapple Studios, best thing ever!!

Although I think it is a universal story, the history of 19th century Amtrica plays a large patr in the structure, symbolism and themes of this work, and America can be rightly proud of this literary classic.
