This is a fabulous number, which takes you through several stories and then links them. The "dancing" is weird and oz-like. Such imaginative choreography. The entire number is a winner, keeps your attention and keeps switching characters who each carry the plot forward.
I hate how Nessa is just SO HAPPY with Boq when he doesn't actually loves her. And it really breaks my heart to see him saying/singing that Nessa is so beautiful, because that makes her fall in love with him even more. Nessa probably doesn't think of herself like that (as we see when she assumes he called her out out of pity for her condition, showing that she probably has low self-steem and thinks of herself as someone who would just be called out if someone felt sorry for her). And, oh, the way we can clearly see when her surprise becomes happiness on the moment he takes her to dance (at 8:30). It feels to me, while i watch it, that this moment is a dream coming true. And it only makes this moment more sad, because you know that in the end, they will break each other's heart

But for the first time she actually has a chance to not feel useless she will always love him even if he will not love her.
In the Grimerie, the behind the scenes book, it says that the Nessa/Boq storyline is the most tragic cause Boq goes from having the biggest heart in Oz to having no heart at all.

Yep, agree like I saw west side story they did good accents there, they had to do America because that’s where the stories set the accents were better there but it is better when they use their normal accents like when I saw Muriel’s wedding which is an Australian musical it actually sounded better. Oz doesn’t have country set in so yeah it should just have people using their accents in shows when the location isn’t part of the story. But my sister saw wicked around 14-15 years ago and said it was amazing. (In Australia)

I LOVE how Fierro's dance motif is his arms hanging in the air like he's up on the Scarecrow perch! It's such a cool little bit of foreshadowing!

The problem is with the cameras picking up the sound from the microphones. Filmed versions of live performances always sound subpar for that reason.
