      Yes, some 'comedy' goes too far or is not funny, but to resort to assault was dreadful.
      Apart from the theater audience, there is an audience at home, and this is Hollywood's chance to show its quality, its good side in a market of cheap streaming services.

      Because there's rarely any Broadway stars these days that are interested in hosting the Oscars and that's unfortunate. Ariana DeBose is likely the closest one that someday and hopefully we will get to see her hosting the Oscars as she did it so well hosting the Tony Awards back in 2022 with her amazing "This Is The Round Of Applause" opening number. Idk if Neil Patrick Harris is interested again and Hugh Jackman is currently busy filming movies so there;s that

      Looking at you, Brad Pitt.
      Of course, that’s not to say the Oscars haven’t had good moments, but it’s obvious the people in charge are more concerned with politics than celebrating the movies of the past year.

    • @The22on
      @The22on 5 лет назад +1

      If you're gonna have Kermit in a musical number, i recommend bringing back Paul Williams. If you are too young to remember Paul, he was on lotsa TV shows in the sixties and seventies. He's a strange dude who wrote the Kermit hit song, "Rainbow Connection". (The other song I associate with Kermit is, "iI's Not Easy Being Green", written by Joe Raposo.)
      The song, Rainbow Connection, when sung by Kermit, is inspiring to me and gives me the chills. It's about how people are always looking for something 'magical' - whether that magic is something in the world or a 'magical' connection with another person. My fav lyrics are:
      -------- Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
      The lovers, the dreamers and me.
      -------- What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
      And what do we think we might see?
      The creator of the Muppets was Jim Henson. He's not a great singer, but there's a 'mysterious' quality to his voice. When he sings a song, you feel transported to a Disney-like place of wonder. The only other voice I can think of that has that same quality is Cliff Edwards, who sang When You Wish Upon A Star. That song will ALWAYS be, for me, the Gold Standard for songs for animated movies. Another 'goosebumps' song for me is, When She Loved Me from Toy Story.
      I've been a musician for decades, and it never ceases to amaze me how strong is the power of music. It can make you laugh, cry, hope, or despair.

    Hugh Jackman would have to be one of the most likeable blokes in the entertainment industry. He's talented, down to earth, funny as a circus and can have a laugh at his own expense. What's not to love?

    • @ghouldishanimal
      @ghouldishanimal 4 года назад +2

      Would have? Are you saying he's not one of the most likeable blokes? He gets love from the nerd crowd for his Wolverine portrayal. He gets love from the Broadway crowd for his work in that department. He gets love from the academy for Les Miserables. Everyone loves him!

    This presentation established a very high level of achievement. Jackman impressed his performance on the stage of talent, passion, love, humility and above all respect for the public and colleagues. What we know as perfection was left behind that night when this tremendous human being set a new level over it. The Academy of Arts and Cinematography must return to its origins and show more respect for the millions of people who gather to see this annual event. To my best of my understanding, this ceremony is one to honor the talent and effort of all the people who entertain us with their work in making films that will be with humanity forever. Being the moderator of the event does not give him the right to mock and much less assault some of his colleagues. To Mr. Hugh Jackman my congratulations for a majestic performance and that should be the role model to follow forever. BRAVO!!!

    That was so awesome. Hugh Jackman is everything an entertainer should be, He can sing, dance, act, play musical instruments and cook. Plus he has the added advantage of being drop dead gorgeous.

    Esta presentación estableció un nivel muy alto de alcanzar. Jackman le imprimió a su desempeño sobre la tarima talento, pasión, amor, humildad y sobre todo respeto hacia el público y colegas. Lo que conocemos como perfección quedó atrás esa noche cuando este tremendo ser humano estableció un nuevo nivel sobre la misma. La Academia de Artes y Cinematografía debe regresar a sus orígenes y mostrar más respeto hacia los millones de personas que nos reunimos a ver este evento anual. A mi mejor entender esta ceremonia es una para honrar el talento y el esfuerzo de todo las personas que nos entretienen con su trabajo en la realización de películas que estarán con la humanidad por siempre. Ser el moderador del evento no le da el derecho de mofarse y muchísimo menos agredir a algunos de sus compañeros ó colegas. Al Sr. Hugh Jackman mis felicitaciones por un desempeño majestuoso y que debiera ser el modelo a seguir por siempre. BRAVO!!!
