  • Stop DNS Leak on Windows 11 For Your Protection
If you connect to a VPN network on a Windows computer, the smart multi-homed name resolution could lead to DNS leakage and allowing your ISP to see your public IP. Since requests are sent out to all network adapters at the same time, all configured DNS servers receive the requests and with them information on the sites that you visit.

Thanks - I'm already using a rotating IP and MAC address with a VPN. I do regularly check for DNS leaks but this is just a cherry on top.

Thank you for the video informative as always. I notice sometimes that Google and or bitwarden will pop up in Flag the internet traffic as suspicious when using a VPN. Does this do anything to prevent that from happening?

Nearly everyone uses a VPN blindly - that is the point of having one. I am surprised Brian hasn't told us about this before ? Better late than never I guess.

What's the point? ISP can see all your traffic anyway without a VPN

1 Before changing it is it wise to make a restore point? 2 who can see my dns when it leaks? My normal dns is already changed to Cloudflare. On VPN PIA i use DNS PIA. 3 When i use a site for testing dns leaks on vpn it says there are no dns leaks. Are they wrong?

You probably have the home version of windows and not pro. That's why windows can't find it. Search online for how to add gpedit to windows 11 home version.

DNSClient does not appear on my system. Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Hi, Thank you for all your advice and tips over the years, many of which I've implemented. However, this time I'm unable to follow this tip; see below for examples. I also have a screen shot of the folder structure, if needed.
    Location: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\
I do have 'Terminal Services' folder.
I do have 'Windows FileProtection' folder.
I do not have 'DNSClient folder' folder.
    HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services
    HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Windows File Protection

Guys Brian! did say in the video, If you Don't have it, you need to add it your self.
When your at the WindowsNT were he showed in the registry, right click it and create a New Key call it DNSClient.
Once that's added right click in the empty space and add a new DWord (32bit) name it DisableSmartNameResolution Then double click, change 0 to 1
