I was 12 and watched this on TV. I'm 40 this year.....where did the time go? I remember these days like it was yesterday. This was easily some of the greatest times in Nascar history.
Third year in a row that a driver had won 4 Winston Cup races in a row. Harry Gant in 1991. Bill Elliott in 1992 and Mark Martin in 1993. If Martin and Roush had a better start to the season and some more luck, they might have been the champions.
Wow this was my first time at Darlington ive been to many there since, i live 30 min from Rockingham and miss going to races there, brings me to tears just to drive by it now seeing it sitting there like that.
@@MrChristopherHaas yeah I've heard that several times over the years ill believe it when i see it, they still race modifides and late models and every now and then an Arca race but the track still says empty most of the year and needs a lot of work it's gone into disrepair just driving by it you can see that, they need to put lights in for one, they were told that before they lost the race if they would have did that they would have kept it.
4:26 green-yellow race start 9:56 second green flag 23:39 second caution 27:19 third green flag 2:58:25 third caution 3:02:04 fourth green flag 3:07:24 end of the race
I was at this race live. I was 9 years old. I remember it was raining all day long and the ground was really muddy. I'm a Ernie Irvan fan to. My last race I saw in person also. But can't wait for Richmond this year!
Ernie Irvan's first race with the 28, Racing Champions made a roster update 28 Ford with Ernie as the driver however 10,000 only made it into production.
Anybody know why Dale was not just running to finish 3rd if needed? I know he loved to win, but you cannot take yourself out trying to run 2nd over 3rd, even if Brett was leaking oil.

I’m with you there. I too remember this race like it was way way less than 28 years
Amen to that
Glad i got to witness a few at Talladega
Miss you BP! You were one of the best NASCAR commentators
He was great!
I will never forget that 4 race win streak from Mark Martin. I really enjoyed those four weeks.
bristol was the best. 2 laps down and earning them by passing rusty twice. with the new rules, that will never happen again.
@@sicfrynutIt still would be impressive now, just not as impressive.
Early '90s... that was a golden era!
Absolutely 👍
🙌
I really really love these old NASCAR race a whole whole lot

Watching races chronologically it’s pretty mind blowing just how much crap rained down upon the 6.
Some beautiful (if brief) shots of the sky during those last ten laps. Very nice way to end it.
What a great race, back in those days they didn't need BS cautions to make exciting racing. Mark, Ernie, Brett, and Dale made that race fun to watch.

My understanding is that you’re going to get Youre wish
@@MrChristopherHaas what's that?

@@badmonkey2222 I get it. Understood.
This was a great race! Good grief it rained hard that day, but it all turned out to be a good one.

On top of the streak Mr. Martin was at the beginnings of his decade of dominance on the undercard
The Roots of NASCAR. Hot, southern summer evenings. Good times. Tragic what's become of nascar in just a bit over 10 years.
Yeah....Nascar at it's best....only 4 cars finish on the lead lap that day...10th place was 3 laps down. NEVER see that today.
Just to finish one of these races, even in last place in and of itself is commendable.Just my pinion'my ring gear and pinion'.
Its was a good decision that they shortened the race from 25 to 10 laps to go due to the darkness
Then they added lights

You gotta love back haul feed
no gimmics to attract viewership
Best race car driver ever
H.B Bailey's last career start in the #36! Wouldn't it been something if Brett Bodine won a Southern 500?
Never actually saw his ride in video. Now I’m hunting
This was when it was still real to me
Thanks for the videos,subscribed!
Now have they have pull off windshield.
i'll do some more down the road, perhaps the martinsville race
TheRacingJungle just curious how do you find the original broadcast ?
How about the '93 Tyson Holly Farms 400? Thanks!
9:50 Start
does anyone know the music piece during the starting line up @ 4:40?
Where do you find the orig broadcast feed?
Great racin' between Ernie & Earnhardt!
Ernie Irvan was the most underrated driver. We only got to see his full potential for about a year before he got hurt.
H.B Bailey's last start
BP and NJ
Love these races, but glad there aren’t 4 drivers on the lead lap at the end of a race anymore or a race ending due to darkness.
All you sayin that's the best years of Nascar....how many cars finished on the lead lap that day?....of a shortened race?
Who cares? Great racing
Only a few cautions. Nascar fakes more than that every race these days
@@fuckcensorship69 How can you have great racing with 1 or 2 cars on the lead lap.....🤣
