It's so nice to start a race and watch it run all the way till the end. No stages, no gimmicks, just good hard racing. The race itself is the story, and it's a great story full of wonderful characters. I sure do miss NASCAR!

This was Junior Johnson and Bill Elliott's Richard Petty 1983 Charlotte 500 moment (Miller 500 I believe). Bill Elliott all of a sudden started turning it on at the end out of no where. Junior Johnson knew his days were over and Elliott knew his days were over with Junior. Why not "cheat" your way to a win at the Southern 500. More than likely all of Junior Johnson's wins in 1994, the other two being with Jimmy Spencer at Daytona and Talladega, were the result of cheating. Yet, Nascar turned its head the other way where it was Junior Johnson.

Nascar fined him in february at daytona in 95 for illegal manifold to the sum of $45,000, and he basically said the hell with nascar, that they we're starting to constrict things you could invent or innovate on a race car. So he didn't wanna go down that road, and sold his team to his driver Brett Bodine after the 95 season.
