    I am very new to air dry clay, and I have been watching your Chanel for around 6 month or so. I have enjoyed all your videos to date and would like to get started on a project. However, I thought I would have to spend a lot of money on all the different tools that are needed to create certain designs on them. I am glad that I watched this video today, because I was amazed how I can create my own air dry clay tools with all the materials I already have on hand. All I need now is the air dry clay. Thank you for these tips and materials ideas.

Before RUclips instructional videos, I found several pounds of grey plasticine and started making monsters, gnarly taloned hands and demonic/vampire faces, to laugh at my inner monsters.I made every mistake there was to make, more than once. Still making them. :). But persistence will win the day. Well, eventually persistence will Win, if you live long enough and just refuse to stop. No matter what weaker souls say about you efforts.

    Such an excellent video covering so many precious tips and inexpensive solutions with items we usually have at home.
    I recently began experimenting this craft and used Fimo air dry clay. It is very soft and easy to work with. However, I was often frustrated when trying to pull it out from the wooden surface I was working on. It would stick and force me to try over again. Will it be because of the nature of Fimo?
    I will try other kind of surfaces and see how it comes out.
    A side note (question): does Fimo ever harden? It’s been drying for a couple of days and it seems that it will end up somewhat flexible. I started with some small hearts and round pendants that came out very light which is good for this purpose, but perhaps not for other kind of items that might require more weight or a solid look and touch.
    Thank you!

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  Год назад +1

      Thanks, I’ve not to date tried the fimo version, but I really must, use a piece of baking paper to stop sticking to see if that helps, not my preferred method as it does tend to crease the underside.
      Enjoy your creative projects 😊❤️

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  Год назад +2

      If air dry then it really should dry, but I’m sure you know if it’s fimo polymer clay then this requires baking

    • @helenai13
      @helenai13 Год назад +1

      @@RedRockingBird I also thought of baking paper but feared it will create creases and wrinkles. I might try a glass surface ou a tile as you mention in your video.

      @helenai13 Год назад +1

      @@RedRockingBird it mentions “Fimo light” which in fact is quite a pleasure to manage. It is air dry and can be also be baked in the microwave. It might be taking longer to harden because of the cold weather. I will not try to speed up the drying process though.
