Idk if this'll Help anyone but when you're rolling out your clay & want to Assure you're rolling the entire piece the same thickness try stacking popsicle sticks. Place them (3/4 high) on opposite sides and stack them to the height you want to roll. Making Sure to Allow roller to roll atop them. U can move them as you roll to Assure proper thickness is achieved throughout the entire piece. U can add or take away your sticks for desired thickness. HTH
Yes this is a great tip, something I have touched on in another video, but it would have been helpful to mention to beginners in this tutorial yes, so thanks for adding ❤️ 😊
Quick tip: Air dry clay sticks very well to already dried clay. So, you can wait for the lid to dry before attaching the trinket (fox) on top. It will also give you the opportunity to spend some time attaching it neatly without worry about damaging the lid. Thank you for your videos!
You are an excellent teacher, so calm and clear. Your ideas and art are beautiful. I love working with air dry clay so I’m inspired by your work and can’t wait to give these ideas a try. Thank you.x
I love the cute pots, such a lovely idea for gifts. You could include something inside. Another tip…..for turning your pot around…. I bought a little wooden lazy Susan. Cost me £1 which I thought would be useful for crafting.
Thank you, yes adding another gift inside is a lovely idea. Great tip to use a lazy Susan too, thanks, I often put the pots on a piece of baking paper and turn it around on this too ⭐️
Working with air dry clay has been incredibly healing & therapeutic for me. My art teacher was so fun & taught us so many techniques similar to the ones you’ve shown in this video. I love the way you teach. Excellent videos. Thanks!!
Love this tutorial! I'm pretty bad at slab building, so I made a giant pinch pot for my base haha I sculpted and painted it to look like a trash can, put a raccoon head on top of it, then gifted it to my friend who's fond of trash pandas. They loved it! :D
I saw somebody calling you the female Bob Ross, I thought that is very accurate and hilarious at the same time 😂🥰 thanx for the great tips! Love these little pots and hope to make them with my daughter, she will love it! I love airdry clay, it's so much fun to work with and has so many possibilities! And as you said, its very forgiving. We could use more of that in the world today 😉 I often use my old nail file to sand the edges of the pieces, works great! And thank you for uploading the slip recipe!! Never knew about that!! Thank you for your lovely tutorials, I just subscribed 👍🏻
This really makes me laugh too, maybe I should get the wig 😂😆🤪 I hope you enjoy your project with your daughter, so glad you enjoyed the video ❤️ Using a nail file is a great idea, I'll pop one in my kit, thanks. I often use one for sanding wood etc too 😂 Thanks for subscribing too, lots more creative videos to come including more air dry clay
My Word ... ❤️ Supurb details and detailing!! These are absolutely Adorable. Could be tricky setting the rim inside the lid to fit pot .. (it will come in time) so I'll hold off for now, until I have more experience under my belt! Cutting 45° angle and always reinforce any gaps.. plus patience is Key! Great Journaling 👍 I have been cutting a thicker felt and gluing to the bottom of my projects so far (after painting) to keep from scratching any surfaces. Maybe one day your post some pics of your children's clay projects in one of your videos. I Know they are Talented! 😊
Great ideas Gina and yes I have been making some clay this afternoon with my youngest son, I filmed a little, only making some beads but I may add it into the next video 😊 Thank you 🙏
So happy I found your lovely channel! May I ask why you don't use wet sandpaper to cut down on airborne dust? Does water sort of "reactivate" clay that has already dried?
Wow, these are adorable, and something most anyone would be very happy to receive. The clay trinket boxes are really cute, but your painting took them up another level! Adorable, and I love the little fox head as well, it turned out very well. 😍
This is by far the best person to learn air dry clay projects from. I have been looking at so many other videos by others and I must say you not only are talented and creative, but your step by step instructions and clear voice, truly kept me glued to the videos... truly beautiful!

What a lovely project! A few years ago I took pottery classes and fell in love with hand-building little pots like this. I'd given it up because of the irregular firing schedule and having to drive half an hour back and forth to see if my pieces had been fired yet. And then again to see if they'd been fired after glazing. So frustrating. This seems like it will allow me to get back to doing something I've been missing a lot. Thank you!!
We sure can get the same creative enjoyment from air dry clay, the finished piece just has to have a different function, but I just love to create in every way, enjoy, Sarah
Loved this!! And I agree, long nails and clay isn’t an easy task but just takes a little more patience. In fact sometimes I use my nails to make measurement marks and sharpen up edges
This is truly a very calming and beautiful project. When I lived in CR many people used DAS clay for their projects. I couldn’t figure out how to use it, so I made my own cold porcelain clay. I think this is much rustic and beautiful looking. Thanks for the tips. Will definitely give it another go. 💜👍🏻 Lovely work.
