@redrockingbird if using air dry clay for bigger projects do you have to hollow out the sculpture or can it just be used with a slab of clay and carve out sculpture?
Your mouse is adorable! I would have given her a flower to hold, or later in the year a little Christmas- tree/bauble. A mouse holding a little basket with berries inside... and and and.. possibilities are endless😘
Sarah I so love the easy, calm tone of your voice as well as the ease of the basic tools you use. My grandmother was British ( Tyne on Weir area ) so her scone recipe lives on long after her passing. Thank you again for sharing your talent and knowledge. Love & Blessings from Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️ xo
Hi Sylvia, thank you for your lovely words, that’s wonderful. LOVE a good scone, happy to hear you carry on making them too and think of your Grandmother ❤️ I used to make scones with my Grandma and my Mum, so I think of them a lot while baking, now the kids love making them too 😊, have a great weekend 🐭
Thanks Fiona, I’d not shown a video using both polymer clay and air dry clay together before so thought this would be a great example for the details in polymer. Do you ever make sculptures like this from polymer clay? I’m sure I will see you again at the show, have a great day, Sarah ❤️
@@RedRockingBird yes I make quite a few sculptures and have in the past used foil under the clay, although I also use Sculpey as a base because it is good to sculpt with, and then add the more robust clay on top. I haven't tried Das polymer clay, must look into that 😉I have also very occassionally used some Das air dry clay to finish off a piece I couldn't put back into the oven. I love how all the different meduims work so well together. Again, so lovely to see you at the show, and we must stay in touch 🙂😍
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals wonderful, it’s just so much fun having a play to make things work the way we want 😊 yes keep in touch, we are on half term this week…dodging the rain 😂 take care ❤️
What a darling sculpture, well done! Thanks so much for sharing your time and talents with us. About time DAS officially sponsors you too. Well done! Your videos make me feel like I could do this, but experience has shown me that anything I make looks like child's work. Thanks so much for your inspiration!
Thank you very much, I loved this project and happy that DAS are on board too, if this is not the kind of project you feel comfortable with I’d say do something more simple with organic shapes that doesn’t have to be life like or look like anything in particular and as you have heard men say plenty of times, don’t worry about the finished result and enjoy the process, if it get frustrating then do more basic projects and things you know, gradually confidence grows, but please keep watching, thank you, Sarah ❤️🐭
Your so talented! Love watching your videos! Congratulations on being sponsored by DAS! U make a fantastic representative of this product! The mouse is adorable! I think another commenter suggested making a little balloon for her to hold! That would be precious! A little red balloon!
Oh, thank goodness for a calming, stress free video to relax to on a Saturday, after a very stressful week! Thank you so much RRB. Scones looked scrumptious too. :)
I’ve just started dabbling with air dry clay again, and I’m so glad I came across this adorable little mouse of yours!! You’ve given me inspiration and a wee bit more confidence to try new things - thus far I’d only done some sculptural elements on boxes and such but I’ve been wanting to make little figures so bad, but was a bit nervous to start… so thank you!! ❤❤🎉
Go for it, don’t worry at all if they don’t turn out as you hope at first, just keep playing and learning through the process, thank you and happy crafting ☺️
I’m so glad I clicked on your video to discover your amazing talent a good while back in time😅. Your lil mouse is so stinking adorable. You make it all look so easy to do. I really and truly love to watch you work. 😊❤
Hi Margaret, you always have such lovely comments and I can't thank you enough for your support and the watching of my videos, you always make me smile, so thank you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ have a wonderful weekend
I too would have liked a bigger longer nose for her, but I feel this should have been done in polymer clay too, to prevent it from snapping off and I didn't put the wire up that far, so I figured a smaller nose work, thank you for watching ✨🐭
Cute as can be! Greetings from Malaysia! Thank you for all your videos. I got myself a few blocks of ADC and plan to use your tutorials to get better at making cute animals
Good evening, I enjoy watching your videos. But I have a question: "Can I still touch up with airdry clay after it has dried?" e.g. add something with clay such as window frames to a house? Thanks in advance for answers, love from the Netherlands 🍀👍
Hi, thank you, yes you can, take a look here ruclips.net/video/ENxmqMEyW_Q/видео.html in this video I let the air dry clay dry and then attach them together, I will be doing more on this at some point soon , thanks
Very cute. Have you ever tried La doll clay? It is AMAZING. I've always sworn to DAZ but this beats it by many miles. It's very soft but great for details. It doesn't crack and it is just unbelievably nice to work with. I'll never go back to DAZ now 😊
Thank you 🐭 I haven't no, just took a look and here in the UK it is pretty pricey to get hold of, but I will hopefully try it out at some point. DAS here in the UK is currently a really great price, happy crafting, Sarah
That would be wonderful, I went to Makers Central this weekend for the first time, maybe next time I could see if I could do a workshop, not sure, if there are other shows you know about let me know and they could be possibilities, or if someone like hobbycraft or any other supplier would get me on board that would be a possibility, word of mouth for them so if you have a local craft store mention me to them, the more people that request the more likely they will think it’s a fab idea! Where are you based? Thanks, Sarah ❤️😊
am struggling to chose what to make hehe😄, am to used with digital craft with 3d modeling where it is so easy to fix mistakes and have perfect symmetry, i regularly do that craft for my game making and photo/texture work too, long time ago i painted and did drawing loving it too, so clay i got idea of making 1/10 scale stuff for my rc car or make diorama/garage for it with all kind of stuff, . What is that wire you use? is it a specific wire or it has a name in hobby store? i have not gotten to buy wire like that or a sealer for the clay but i do have 2kg stone version and 1kg of the white version of same clay ready to be used and the basic tool from Das brand too, so i need to chose what to make hehe😊. i noticed in one of your videos you had a tea cup(i think) i am a norwegian Viking to often drinking coffe with milk but i love english/UK yellow twings twea with milk and sugar and other Twings too :D looking forward to your new videos and with the wood too ☺
btw you are really good and Realistic with bird and this mouse especially :) perhaps you can try making cats some time too? different cats is my dream to make good ones :D ps the 2 cake looks so realistic and nice :)
Thanks so much, the wire is any galvanised non rusting wire, anything you have or can get in any craft store, I’m not fussy 😂😂 Wonderful you have your clay there ready to go, too many ideas and possibilities is a good thing but can pose a problem, just got to choose one and go with it, I often flit back and to from project to project, but I have a book where I write and sketch all my ideas and make a loose plan, that way there is a little element of focus when my creative brain wants to do everything at once 😂
