    I have so many art supplies, including air dry clay, that I hope to start actually using so this video was super helpful to me for ideas on how to use up my air dry clay! I even drew out little sketches and ideas for this! I'll probably seal mine in UV Resin but I really love to paint with acrylics so I'm thinking, after seeing this video, that I'll make some blanks with my air dry clay and then paint my heart's desire on them and then turn them into jewelry! Thank you for a wonderful video even though I'm three years late it seeing it. 🙂

I love watching mudlarking and really wanted a clay pot. Is a little wonky. Thank you for sharing your art 😊🙏🙌🤗 they're adorable. And like I told my children when they were young, I'd rather have something they make more than any store bought item. It means you made it from your heart. Now my daughter's make Native bead jewellery and my youngest went to college as an art major. I'm so proud of them. I struggle and learn by my mistakes!! 😆 But have plenty of slip 😎🙏🙌🤗. • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  3 года назад +12

      You could do although it is stickier than polymer clay so will likely get stuck to it a bit easier and need washing regularly if you want to dedicate one to just air dry clay, I find a rolling pin works just great. There are so many rabbit holes and I want to wander down all of them. 🙄
      Maybe I should just pick one project with the goal of turning it into a video. Only one. Maybe that could make me learn some self discipline.

    Many thanks for this helpful video! Wonderful creations! I'm hoping to start using air dry clay for jewellery; I wonder if it is possible to set bigger stones such as small amber pieces into this clay or will they fall out? Do I need to use a special sealant or would an acrylic varnish suffice?

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  3 года назад

      I'm really not sure how that will work, as you wouldn't want to get the varnish on the stones etc As the clay dries it would crack around a solid object too and would then need fixing.

Make sure you condition the clay when you get it straight out the packet, so knead it really well first, add as little water as possible along the whole process to avoid cracks, obviously the larger you roll the more likely for cracks but I've not had my dishes crack(ruclips.net/video/vZVJhRxiOa8/видео.html), also don't dry to quickly ie near a heat source.
