I have a built a spreadsheet of which yarns work well and which do not. It helps me remember what not to order again. I have had problems with red heart, too. Thanks for letting us know we are not crazy.
You should try my method of using slubbed/ uneven yarns - though a piece of straw. Nudges the yarn and guides it so it should always be caught by the teeth. Expanded my yarn choices immensely. I've also sat the straw next to the yarn to keep it in same position to be caught.
My prym machine hates thin, fine and slippery yarns, which is annoying as I like linen, bamboo and cottons to add to my crochet! It either doesn't pick them up properly or it somehow pings off the previous row when it is hooking the new one 😭 it doesn't mind the more coarse though as it appears to like friction. Considering twisting two threads of finer yarn together or maybe running a bit of beeswax over it to add grip 🤔
I'm thinking that humidity plays a factor in this as well. I've seen these issues with the Red Heart yarn especially. I have noticed that on wet rainy days my machine likes the red heart yarn . Is it just me or I have I found the problem that exists with specific yarns for all machine knitters? Also what kind of needle are you using to tie your ends? I currently use the plastic and they do not work well for me.
Have you tried washing this yarn before using it? I have that yarn but I washed the yarn first and no problem. I know what works for some Didn’t work for all but give it a try.

Thank you so much for this video. You're advice has been a game changer for making things on my addi
When i saw this video i was so darn happy
I have the same issue with the Redheart striped yarn. I found that if I put weights on my knit- it solves the problem

Is there a video of this method - I n a visual learner!
Hi, this is helpful. My Addi does not like any Red Heart super saver yarn or any 4 weight yarn. No dropped stitches but tucked ones.
Thank you! Very helpful!

I soaked all of my yarn balls in a solution of fabric softener and water. I will report back after I try my experiment.
