This song sounds like it did back in the sixties. Never understood this rematered bullshit stuff. It's the same fucking song. What can change so much?????
@@salvadormarley2360 not really the drums are more punchy, and they aren't panned in only one channel it's in the center and the orchestra is louder so no it doesn't sound the same it sounds much better in my opinion
Alex Mora that was the point of the song. John was poking fun at people who thought their lyrics meant more than face value, when really they were just gibberish. Catchy well thought out gibberish that is hahah
It's packed full of clues, it's meant to be so The viola at the end, for instance ..it's a WHITE viola in the films for Day in the Life and Blue Jay Way ..very significant ..white is funereal and the sensual sloping curves might evoke the androgynous gestalt of a certain allegedly deceased and risen band member And the reference to the glass onion itself ..it's a weighted magnifier for looking at details on a POSTER or also (in archaic English) the chunky hand holds on a fancy coffin ..hence "looking thru a glass onion" is the perspective of the Dead Man

I'm so glad the movie will be bringing many more people to discover this absolute masterpiece of a song! It's one of my favourite Beatles songs *ever* and it was a thrill to hear it in the movie. Loved Glass Onion, btw - Rian Johnson is amazing
I love the concept of this song: Lennon is just trashing people who are trying to decipher every bit of obscure Beatles' lyrics, when they're really just fooling themselves. They're trying to peel back the layers of Beatles music like an onion, when it's actually a "glass onion", in that it's all clear, there's nothing of substance to even see in much of it. "The walrus was Paul" is just thrown in to confuse these people even more.
The beatles are the only band where people obsess over every lyric want to know who played guitar on a given track who did this or that. Not only is there a catalog of genius songs but a whole mythology to explore track by track break downs of who did what who was your favorite beatle etc. I know of no other band where peole want to know that level of detail. It speaks to how monumental they were in changing our culture and altering the course of popular music.
Nope, the Beatles were far more than music, more of an ideology fused with religion and mythology. Only those topics are even remotely as analyzed as the Beatles.
@@MarkAndrews12 I still adore The Beatles. The Beatles woke up my soul. Those bands are great (minus The Stones) but they aren’t as universal as The Beatles.

i domt agree with that scott, he made the white album sound too polished and the white album should sound gritty not polished, he also made the drums softer and lower in songs like a day in the life.not happy with his remixes
Interesting fact...the 'white album' was the first Beatles album to reach # 1 in all of the following countries, the U.K., Australia, Canada, Germany, France and the U.S.A., six important markets..Sgt. Pepper didn't manage it (#7 in Canada, # 4 in France)...they did repeat that achievement with Abbey Road going to # 1 in all of those countries.
@Skillz Hd I don't deny this achievement, and after commenting realised what he meant. Though I'll leave it up just in case anyone decided to comment the same thing.
The Beatles were so ahead of the Times Artistically. I love the beat and switchbacks, not to mention the Lyrics on this song. What would be nice is for some of these less popular pieces to be played by Stations again?
Even if I wasn't alive to witness The Beatles, this video for some reason gives a sense of nostalgia. It also looks like it would be the end credits to a Beatles biopic.
"...I told you 'bout the fool on the hill, I tell you man he livin' there still" I love that line, and the recorder/flute sound right after it, genius!

It is NOT a "conspiracy theory". William did join Beatles in an already set up affair late 1966 as Beatles new "Paul McCartney". And he is so far from "Exactly the same!!!" as you will ever come.
@@jwaj ZzzZzzzz. You PIA-people have nothing to bring to this subject. You either throw insults, use STUPID oneliners or use the retarded "Exactly the same!!!" argument that was debunked ages ago. You choosed to use a stupid "oneliner" and then went back to your little la la land where you live with both your eyes and ears closed. Since you are CLUELESS about this subject you could not answer me like an adult. I am not claiming that the "Featles" theory are real i am only claiming that James Paul McCartney was REPLACED late 1966. It is not as impossible as you dishonest people claim. *JPM had a ROUND head. "Sir Paul" does NOT. The skullshape can NOT change once grown up. It is a SCIENTIfIC FACT. Different skullshape=different man. *JPM had B R O W N eyes. That is OFFICIAL information. William have green/light eyes. Do not act stupid on purpose. You know just like i do that our eyecolours stays the same. *He is taller than JPM was. That he had a growth spurth at the end of 1966 at the age of 24 is a silly narrative. *"Sir Paul" have said ON camera that he joined B E A T L E S as an already set up affair. That is NOT how JPM joined the band. A bandmember in Lennons group invited McCartney to join and back then they weren't even called Beatles! If "Sir Paul" told the truth how he joined the band then he admitted that he is NOT Paul McCartney. See this is logical thinking and knowledge. This is discussion and arguments. Not retarded "hErpa deRp ninJa tuRtlEs" oneliners. "Before 1967 JPM was a skilled bassist that could play some other instruments but he really did shine on bass. From 1967 and forward "Paul" could play ALL instruments there was, sing higher and write and read music. That is a HUGE transformation musically. If you think that happened naturally you sure are gullible. *JPM had a warm personality and was humble. William is cold and very arrogant. *JPM said in a interview (The real JPM had a very thick Liverpool accent by the way) that he HATED travelling and hinted he would retire in the futute. But the man without the Liverpool-accent travels around the globe and still haven't retired. *Lennon hinted that JPM was "Yesterday" and William "Another day" all thoose years ago. And The Who sang openly in a famous song in the 70's about JPM's replacement. *All the clues, codes shows that "Sir Paul" and NOT Ringo is "Billy Shears". Since "Sir Paul" real name is William (as George Harrison have called him ON camera) it is only logical that "Sir Paul" nicknames are Billy Shears/Billy/Bill. *George Harrison saying: "Fab...fab three" and "Beatle Bill" in the Imagine documentary is very telling. *"Sir Paul" and the corrupted media lies and claims that PID was started by an american dj. The only narrative that is true regarding this is that it was Beatles THEMSELVES that started PID when they released Sgt Pepper in 1967! "Sir Paul" saying other nonsense like "We ran out of red roses" is a clue in itself. He wants people to discover what he actually says doesn't make any sense. *JPM had no problems letting Lennon be the bandleader. But Billy was a controllfreak, a druggie and without an explanation he suddenly was Beatles new bandleader in 1967. There are endless examples out there why "Sir Paul" and JPM are NOT "exactly the same!!!" and you would have known this if you had stopped being lazy all your life and for once doing some research. Taking anything in life for granted will punish you as i just showed you. I made my arguments against your silly oneliners. I owned you. Why ? Because i live my life with eyes and ears OPEN and i did the research. Know this my lazy friend: Since Beatles/Fab four was: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, that makes "Beatle Bill" not a real Beatle since history will not allow it to have existed two Paul McCartneys. If "Sir Paul" will be mourned as JPM when he dies me and alot of other people are going to counter that false narrative. You can count on it. Long live the memory and legacy of the REAL James Paul McCartney!
That i can agree with. Even when the truth comes out about William replacing JPM late 1966 (as an already set up affair) , that will only increase their sales.
@@mercurialmagictrees They seemed to have modified the sound levels for each element, changed the placement of the instruments via left/middle/right channel to make it seem more balanced, and enhanced the clarity with the vocals (i.e. removed or stripped away effects put on John's voice). The original had bass on left channel, drums on right channel, and vocals in the middle (50/50 each side). Like with a lot of stereo Beatles songs, this often made it sound weird with headphones and off-balance. This version seems to have percussion/drums along with the vocals in the middle, guitar on the left with piano and tambourine on the right. The bassey-ness seems consistent on both channels too. They've also have done something (maybe?) with John's vocals in terms of layering to make it seem more textured and, like the name Glass Onion, more layered.
No other band on the planet could ever be as great as the Beatles were. Diversified musicians, swell lookers and as cute as can be. They always reminded me of four playful little puppies. Absolutely adorable ❤️😍😍😍
0:17 “Here’s a place you can go, where everything flows” that part gets to me every time I watch this video, the strings in the background are very prominent and mimic the slides of images that appear on screen and it all blends together so nicely. Well done to the people that remastered and directed the video!
I always totally loved this song.. and all the references, and Georg Martin's brilliant use of using orchestral riffs (slightly twisted) to fit in.. And the James Bond chord progression.. I suppose John would have called this a 'throwaway song'.. meaning he probably came up with it very quickly.. But that was John's talent.. He wrote, "All You Need is Love the weekend, before they were to record the backing traks, and perfrom live in what was the largest human audience to date via satelite,. So greatfull to have been a teenager during their heyday. They were the soundtrack to my life.
That only goes to show how organic this album is. Completely ridiculous to tear apart one son and say "hey, it´s tranny music", "hey, it´s new age musique concrete garbage". Paul said it clearly: "It sold! It´s The Beatles White Album"! I´d change the "It sold" bit by "It breathes, it´s a living thing"!

For anyone who doesn’t know, at 0:14, the picture with Paul wearing glasses and having a mustache is part of a theory where Paul died in a car crash and was replaced by a look alike. They say that the picture with the glasses and mustache is a man named Billy Shears, the guy who supposedly replaced Paul
Lennon wrote the song to confuse people who "read in" to Beatles songs, searching for a hidden meaning, which annoyed him.[2][3] With this in mind, the lyrics are intended to confuse the listener. Most lines refer to earlier Beatles songs, including "Strawberry Fields Forever", "I Am the Walrus", "Lady Madonna", "The Fool on the Hill", and "Fixing a Hole". The song also refers to the "Cast Iron Shore", a coastal area of south Liverpool known to local people as "The Cazzy".[4][5][6] Lennon dismissed any deep meaning to the mysterious lyrics: threw the line in-"the Walrus was Paul"-just to confuse everybody a bit more. It could have been "the fox terrier is Paul." I mean, it's just a bit of poetry. I was having a laugh because there'd been so much gobbledygook about Pepper-play it backwards and you stand on your head and all that.[7] "Glass Onion" was a name suggested by Lennon for the Iveys, a group who signed to Apple in 1968 and later became Badfinger. From Wikipedia,
Like i have answered before, that official explanation is just nonsense. "Glass onion" consists of several PID-songs and it is a PID song trogh and trough. Even the video to the song includes a very "in our face" clue that Paul was replaced with William. Do not hold on to tightly that copying and pasting from Wikipedia is the same as the truth. Because you will be greatly dissapointed one day when you find out that they decieved you.

or, knowing John, it means absolutely nothing. Straight Gibberish haha
Alex Mora that was the point of the song. John was poking fun at people who thought their lyrics meant more than face value, when really they were just gibberish. Catchy well thought out gibberish that is hahah
It's packed full of clues, it's meant to be so
The viola at the end, for instance ..it's a WHITE viola in the films for Day in the Life and Blue Jay Way ..very significant ..white is funereal and the sensual sloping curves might evoke the androgynous gestalt of a certain allegedly deceased and risen band member
And the reference to the glass onion itself ..it's a weighted magnifier for looking at details on a POSTER or also (in archaic English) the chunky hand holds on a fancy coffin ..hence "looking thru a glass onion" is the perspective of the Dead Man

Never thought about it that way
No, the song is full of references of PID songs. The song is made for people who live with their eyes open.

It is NOT a "conspiracy theory". William did join Beatles in an already set up affair late 1966 as Beatles new "Paul McCartney". And he is so far from "Exactly the same!!!" as you will ever come.
Ölsk Zeri all the Beatles died and were replaced by the ninja turtles

Excellent quality 🐦
The strings in this mix make it perfectly brilliant. My only complaint is the song is so short and I have to keep repeating it.

I was having a laugh because there'd been so much gobbledygook about Pepper-play it backwards and you stand on your head and all that.[7]
"Glass Onion" was a name suggested by Lennon for the Iveys, a group who signed to Apple in 1968 and later became Badfinger.
@@olskzeri2723 I've been a Beatles fan for 40 years, since I was a little boy. I have all records. I have several books (For example The Beatles Bob Spitz).
I have been to three Paul McCartney shows.
I met Beatles before Wikipedia, Internet, Mp3, CD.
I only used Wikipedia as a reference for easy understanding.
Disappointed? I never disappoint myself with the Beatles. They illuminated my life and continue to illuminate.
I don't waste my time on crazy conspiracy theories.
Just stop, you're being an unbearable guy.

Wasn't trying to confuse them - he was mocking them.
The fox terrier is Paul.🤣
The Beatles went to a lot of trouble to plant all those clues. It’s a shame so many just of you want to deny and debunk them. You don’t need to do that in order to keep Paul alive. Think about it.
I love how sad this sounds, at the same time you can dance/headbang to it
A super excellent job on crafting this video as it makes The Beatles "White Album" poster completely come to life!
In my class I was the only person who liked the beatles and my best friend loves heavy metal so I told him to listen to Helter Skelter and now he loves the beatles so it’s just me and him who like them.
REVOLUTION
Not gonna lie this is the best god damn music video I have ever seen because of the talent put into it
Plus the in our face PID clue, with the switch from Paul to William.
Nothing is done by coincidence.
@@olskzeri4537 it’s meant to be a joke. Trying to make fun of all the stupid theories
@@olskzeri4537 there are two of your aconts???
Agreed, it is as if each bit was polished to the point of brilliance.
@@thomasdower1533 Trying to make fun of person like Olsk Zeri as well, cause Paul Maccartney is alive and the theory is nonsense.
I bought the 2018 Mix White Album Vinyl and this poster was included. Nice animation to it!

Glass Onion
I told you about Strawberry Fields
You know, the place where nothing is real
Well, here's another place you can go
Where everything flows
Looking through the bent backed tulips
To see how the other half live
Looking through a glass onion
I told you about the walrus and me, man
You know that we're as close as can be, man
Well, here's another clue for you all
The walrus was Paul
Standing on the cast Iron shore, yeah
Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet, yeah
Looking through a glass onion
Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
Looking through a glass onion
I told you about the fool on the hill
I tell you, man, he living there still
Well, here's another place you can be
Listen to me
Fixing a hole in the ocean
Trying to make a dove tail joint, yeah
Looking through a glass onion
Love the Beatles
This has been in my recommendations for ages, but I resisted clicking it because I didn't like new visual interpretations of classic things, but I have finally clicked on it and I'm glad I did because it truly is brilliant.
Rip John Lennon
Rip George Harrison
Screw cancer and mark david champmen
Amen. Still bitter about Chapman, sad about George's cancer.
Do not mention the thing from Hawaii's name while it still lives. No sliver of fame must ever reflect on that piece of human excrement. RIP John and George.
Dude, don’t mention his name. He wanted to be remembered for killing John and we can’t allow that. We need to all forget his name
@@geoffreynoonan4334 I think they might have gotten together to do Live Aid or one of those benefits for sure. They might have collaborated here and there(especially for Ringo) but I don't think a group "The Beatles" would tour. Anything they did would be magic, though.
Don't mention his name...
One of the few remasterings I've heard that has actually improved on the original (most have been the equivalent of those disastrous "restorations" of old paintings that used to be carried out). Sounds really good!
The Beatles Forever!
Love the fake Paul thing!
Sad. Because it's true.
And an unidentified profile with no information & made-up name tries to tell me? Lol. Where have I seen that before??? Oh that's right. All over my comments anywhere.
@@clarekuehn4372 But please tell me, what makes you think it's true.
Pre September 1966 and post November 1966 are two completely different human beings playing the Paul role. What happened in the couple of months in between? Who knows?
@@clarekuehn4372 the fact that people still believe this is real is so fucking terrifying.
The Beatles is wildly considered the greatest boy band of all times. They are great when I'm in my youth and still great in todays youth.
carlos marabillo during my high school days, we sang their song. Now I'm 60 and still sing their song. And my children and even my grandchildren and their friends are also singing the songs of the greatest band that ever come on earth. Thank you for sharing to us The Beatles.
The rhythm, drums and strings in this song are brilliant. Oh and the composition, almost forgot.
Se despide el 2022 con la banda más grande de la música! Temazo! Larga vida a los Beatles!!!
Hard to believe this was recorded in 1968. So far ahead of its time.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how fucking awesome this music video is
John was so self critical. I really hope he knew/knows who much he touched us with his music and no one would ever expect him to do any better. It is absurd enough just to relate to how good he was as is.
Here's another clue I'll disgorge: The Walrus was George.
Here's another clue to go on... The walrus is John
Well, here’s another clue I should think, though. The walrus was Ringo.
no, the walrus was george martin
@@redicendia1355 "It says on the milk carton, the walrus was George Martin."
The walrus was Mal Evans

It's nice to see that Mal made it into the vid.
very sad what happened to him
The 6th Beatle????
Damn the LAPD for killing him and damn whoever it was who lost his Ashes in the mail.
Unlike many celebrities, The Beatles do remember their friends. Perhaps because, being as huge as they are, they had/have very few. But Neil, Mal, Derek, etc...always seem to be there somehow.
Pete Shotton was another.
Very smart to address the Faux Paul thing here. Very brilliant.
@Otis Williams Very interesting response there.
